Chapter 80 Resemblance
Fang Jiayan glanced at Han Que and frowned, "What's wrong with you? Did Master Gu make you angry?"
Han said nothing.
Fang Jiayan turned off the skit, threw the empty ice cream box into the kitchen trash can, washed her hands, and then walked over to sit next to Han Que. Seeing that her face was still sullen and unhappy, she gently touched her shoulder and said, "What's wrong with you? Every time I see you go out, you're so happy, but when you come back, you're sighing. What's going on?"
Han sighed deeply, said nothing, and stared at the TV in a daze.
Fang Jiayan waited for a while, then pulled her hair and said, "Speak."
Han shook his head: "I have nothing to say."
"You have nothing to say?" Fang Jiayan glared at her, her tone fierce. "Then you take it out on me as soon as you get back. I'm exhausted from work, and I come back to watch a skit, but you don't like it. You complain about this and that. When I ask you, you say you have nothing to say. Oh, why don't you think about it? I just took a short break, and you still scold me. If you can't stand me, go home and live by yourself. Don't be so hypocritical in front of me."
After saying that, Fang Jiayan patted her nightgown, stood up from the sofa, and prepared to go back to her room, but Han Que grabbed the edge of her skirt.
"Hey?" Fang Jiayan looked up and glared at her.
Han didn't let go, his watery eyes looked at her pitifully, "Fang Jiayan, don't chase me away."
"Who chased you away?" Fang Jiayan looked at her expression, sighed, and sat down again, mumbling, "Why are you doing this?"
Han lowered his head and said nothing.
Fang Jiayan looked at her for a long moment, then patiently advised, "You said you used to be so carefree and free, except for Jiang Jin. That was your first love, so you were different from the others. With other men... Oh, and that Lu Ping before, you could talk if you wanted to, and forget about it if you didn't. I always see others clinging to you, but I never saw you clinging to others."
"But I didn't pester him." Han muttered.
"Well, you didn't cling to him, but that was just an act. You didn't really think that way. You were just worried about losing..." She paused for a moment, and seeing Han Que's wet eyelashes, she said slowly, "You've been with him for the past few months. Although I haven't met him formally, seeing how he takes care of Mom and how he arranges for you, I think he's really put his heart into it. Don't deny how good he is to you."
"I never denied it." Han said softly, "But no matter how good he is to me, it's conditional."
"Of course. Who would be nice to someone for no reason?" Fang Jiayan looked at her in surprise. "Haven't you always understood this principle? Why are you confused now?"
Han was stunned for a long time, as if he had been enlightened. He had just told people today that adult relationships are based on mutual needs, but how come he fell in love with Gu Ningwei as soon as he saw him?
She took a deep breath and nodded: "Jia Yan, you are right."
"Well, it's good that I figured it out." Fang Jiayan yawned and stood up. "Let's go to bed quickly. It's getting late. It's almost one in the morning. I'm so sleepy."
As she spoke, she walked into the bedroom with her phone. Just as she entered the door, she poked her head out again and blinked, "You should go to bed quickly too. It's a very physically demanding job to serve someone with your beauty."
"Get out." Han picked up the pillow on the sofa and threw it at him, and finally a smile appeared on his face.
"I'm going to find Yuanhao tomorrow. Damn it, he hasn't taken care of me for a long time. I'm so tired..." Fang Jiayan closed the door while laughing.
After a while, Han heard the unique music from the skit coming faintly from her room. She shook her head and thought, "Ah, a woman who loves to fantasize all her life."
Gu Ningwei drove to the hospital and arrived at the emergency room. Outside the empty clinic, he saw a young man wearing a black vest and with muscular body. He was sitting in a chair with his head in his hands, in a daze.
Gu Ningwei walked up to him and asked in a low voice, "Are you Afeng?"
The other person raised his face to look at him. Gu Ningwei was suddenly stunned. He couldn't help but frown and stare at him, looking at him carefully.
A Feng nodded, "I am A Feng."
Gu Ningwei nodded his chin, "Where's your lover?"
A Feng pointed to the emergency operating room with the door closed and the lights on, "Do an enema in there."
Gu Ningwei was silent for a moment, staring at him with a gloomy and stern look, "How much?"
A Feng was stunned for a moment, then suddenly realized what was happening. He looked flustered and quickly waved his hands, stammering, "No, I didn't, I don't smoke those things, don't get me wrong."
Gu Ningwei curled his lips, "I didn't say you smoked that." He paused, "She took sleeping pills again?"
A Feng nodded softly, not daring to look at him unless he lowered his head.
"How much did you eat?" Gu Ningwei asked again.
"I... I don't know either..." Ah Feng suddenly looked up, met Gu Ningwei's sharp gaze, lowered his head again, and stammered: "We, we... After that, I went to take a shower, and heard her answering the phone outside. When I came out, she had finished the call. She usually avoids me when she calls, but this time she said..."
"What?" Gu Ningwei asked.
Ah Feng stammered incoherently, repeating tremblingly, "I didn't quite hear it clearly, but I saw her face flush with anger as she muttered something about reporters coming here to extort money..."
Gu Ningwei lowered his eyes and nodded again.
A Feng lowered his head and stopped talking.
Gu Ningwei kicked his seat, "And then?"
"Then? Then..." Ah Feng looked up at him in panic, "Then she went to the bathroom. I was about to leave, and she didn't come out for a long time. I heard someone fall to the ground, but I didn't pay attention. I quickly pushed the door open to see her lying on the ground, and there was a bottle of sleeping pills on the sink. I was scared to death and called an ambulance... The hospital wanted to pay, and I didn't have any money, so I... I looked through her phone address book... and found you..."
A Feng's voice gradually became lower and he told the whole story in a jumbled manner.
Gu Ningwei was silent for a while, then chuckled: "You're quite clever."
"Gu... Mr. Gu, I'm not smart, I'm just scared. What if she dies... then I'll be a suspect. Her family is so powerful, an ordinary person like me can't afford it..." A Feng said tremblingly.
Gu Ningwei glanced at him sideways and said, "Don't worry, she won't die."
"Really?" A Feng didn't believe it.
"Really." Gu Ningwei said and sat down next to him.
"How do you know?"
"She has made trouble many times. I know the exact number." Gu Ningwei said tiredly, looking at the wall clock in the corridor, a little distracted.
"Ah? It's been so many times?" A Feng heaved a sigh of relief, leaned back on the chair, and stretched out his long legs. "I was really scared to death. I've never encountered such a thing before..."
Gu Ningwei glanced at him and said with a faint smile: "Is your business doing well?"
Ah Feng nodded, thought about it, and suddenly understood what Gu Ningwei meant. His face flushed slightly, and he waved his hand, "I'm not..."
"It's nothing?" Gu Ningwei teased him deliberately, "If you dare to do it, then you dare to admit it. There's nothing to be embarrassed about."
"I'm not a duck." Ah Feng met his gaze. "I have a legitimate job. I'm a student at the Sports College and work part-time as a model. He Lian saw me online and took the initiative to find me and asked me to be her model."
"What happened next? You became a nude model and even slept with her?" Gu Ningwei sneered.
"I... Sister He Lian..." Ah Feng was speechless. He looked at Gu Ningwei with a clear-eyed gaze and said suddenly, "I remember now. There was a report about you online. Are you her boyfriend?"
He turned pale in an instant, his hands clenched into fists, his lips trembling as he murmured, "It's over, it's over... I'm really in trouble. Why would I call you? It's better for me to ask anyone for money than you... I..."
He turned around and looked at Gu Ningwei pitifully, begging, "Brother Gu... please forgive me. I won't dare to do it again. I didn't know you... you... were Sister He Lian..."
"Okay, stop talking." Gu Ningwei saw his knees trembling and wanted to kneel down to him immediately. Suddenly, he felt bored and shook his head. "Don't listen to those rumors on the Internet. I'm not her boyfriend..."
"Really?" A Feng stared at him.
"Really." Gu Ningwei nodded, then looked at Afeng with amusement, tapping his forehead. "How old are you? Why do you seem so clueless? Do you think if I were her boyfriend, I would allow her to plant grassland for me like this? Am I that kind of person?"
A Feng stared at him, stunned for a while, then grinned, revealing his snow-white, shining teeth.
He shook his head. “No.”
Gu Ningwei handed him a cigarette and winked at him, and the two went to the corridor of the safe passage to smoke. Gu Ningwei casually asked him where he was from, how old he was, what his major was, and what he planned to do in the future.
Afeng gradually relaxed, leaning against the wall and smoking, talking about his poor family, his father died early, and his mother working as a temporary worker in a factory. He was naughty and good at sports when he was a child, but his mother did not let him go to work and forced him to take the college entrance examination. Their physical education teacher said that he could apply to a sports college, and he was admitted, but he did not want to make his mother too tired, so he decided to work and study.
"They're serious college students who got in through the college entrance exam and can tutor children. I'm just..."
He paused for a moment, then smiled wryly, "Who would let a gym student be a tutor? Someone said I could be a model with my physique, so I went. I wasn't used to it at first, but I eventually got used to it..."
A Feng shook his head, looking self-pitying.
Gu Ningwei chuckled and said calmly, "Habits are not a good thing. You are still young."
"I said I'm not a duck." A Feng defended himself, looking at him stubbornly, "Sister He Lian said she liked me very much... and said I looked like someone she knew..."
"Yes. Very similar." Gu Ningwei nodded.
"You know him too?"
"Yes, I know him. An old friend." Gu Ningwei was slightly stunned and said after a long while, "But it's been a long time since we last met. I wonder if he's doing well over there."
