Chapter 36 Breakup
Lu Xiaoping's eyes revealed infinite melancholy. His eyes were slightly red. He quickly turned away, looked away, and nodded. "You are happy. Anyway, you never really liked me. Now that we are separated, of course you won't be sad, and you won't have any feelings."
Han remained silent and smiled faintly.
Lu Xiaoping's gaze lingered on a pot of green radish not far away. He said bitterly, "Our relationship has been my own business from the very beginning. I was being sentimental, it was me who stalked you, it was me who chased after you, it was me who topped up my account at your club to please you, it was me who helped you achieve sales targets, and it was me who introduced my godmother's company to you. I thought I'd tried so hard and would definitely move you, but I really didn't expect that all of this was just for my own amusement. No wonder everyone calls me stupid. I am stupid."
Han listened to him rambling on, her face calm and composed. After Lu Xiaoping finished, she spoke, "Lu Xiaoping, do you feel you've lost out? But didn't you also get what you wanted? Yes, you said I wasn't interested in you, but have you ever asked me what I think? Have you ever really discussed our future with me? Have you ever?"
Lu Xiaoping looked at her speechlessly.
Han looked at him calmly: "Lu Xiaoping, people always have to grow up. You can't always be like a child."
Lu Xiaoping: "That's not what I meant, I..." He tried to explain himself anxiously.
Han interrupted him: "Lu Xiaoping, you and I are just playing games. You and I both know that our relationship will not have any future. You will not marry me, and you will not go against your parents' wishes for me."
Lu Xiaoping said: "No, I had a big fight with my parents and haven't spoken to them until now. I am worried about you..."
Han nodded. "I know, but you're arguing because you feel they're interfering with your freedom and not treating you like an adult." But... she sneered, "You're upset because you didn't get to decide when this game ends. You're just upset about that."
Lu Xiaoping lowered his head in silence. When he raised his head again, his eyes were red. He seemed to be reminiscing, and seemed to be reminding her that they had been happy together before, and he had paid for her.
His kindness to her, his deep affection for her, and his dedication to her, both in terms of money and time.
Han listened silently, his expression unchanged.
Lu Xiaoping talked for a long time, his mouth dry, and finally stopped. He looked at Han She eagerly, moving his lips, "Do you still want to break up?"
Han remained silent and nodded slightly.
Lu Xiaoping took a deep breath, tears welled up in his eyes. He turned his head quickly, clenched his hands, his shoulders trembling involuntarily, and he tried hard not to lose his composure in front of Han Que.
Han lowered his head and continued to lick the water from his cup, pushing the glass towards him.
She didn't say anything, because anything she said would have been hurtful.
Just wait in silence.
After a while, Lu Xiaoping calmed down a little and asked in a difficult tone, "Is it because of Gu Ningwei?"
Han shook his head, "No."
Lu Xiaoping shook his head and said, "I don't believe it."
He really didn't believe it. Gu Ningwei was rich, beautiful, and came from a wealthy family. How could Han not be tempted? She was not a noble woman. She liked money and needed money.
"It's up to you to believe it or not, but if you insist on me telling you the reason for breaking up, there's only one." Han leaned back in his chair, looked him straight in the eyes, and said clearly, "You."
"Me?" Lu Xiaoping paused, then pointed at his nose speechlessly, his expression incredulous. He said, "Is it because of me?"
Han nodded again.
Lu Xiaoping's expression was incredible: "Han Que, isn't this excuse too abstract? It's not the first day you've known me. Don't you know what kind of person I am? Oh, when you agreed to date me, you didn't see me clearly. Now that you see me clearly, you regret it? Ha...you really are..."
He couldn't continue speaking. He picked up the cup on the table and took a few gulps of water. Then he put the glass down and sighed twice: "I don't know what to say."
Han said softly: "Actually, you know everything."
"Know what?"
Han sighed softly and asked him, "Lu Xiaoping, why bother?"
Lu Xiaoping's face turned pale. He suddenly felt ashamed. The breakup was so unclear. It was obvious that she had fallen in love with someone else, but she put the blame on him. This made him extremely annoyed.
He said, "I know. Just because I didn't send you home that night, you erased all the kindness I had shown you? And because of that incident, you made up your mind to break up with me. Do you think I can believe that? We've been together for eight months, and you broke up just because of this little thing?"
"That day was just the breaking point." Han said calmly, "Even if it weren't for that night, it would have exploded at some other time."
"Han Que..." Lu Xiaoping pounded the table, making a loud noise. The water cup jumped on the table. People around looked over and examined him with curious eyes.
"You f*cking talk to me like that..." He was a little out of control and hysterical, "I don't care, I won't break up."
Han sighed, opened the text message dialog box, and handed it to Lu Xiaoping, "You should recognize this number, right?"
Lu Xiaoping looked at the line of words his mother sent, took a deep breath, and suddenly his hands and feet became cold, as if he had fallen into an ice cellar.
"Han Que, you are a bitch, please leave my son."
There was a blank space below the dialog box, but Han did not respond.
Although there was already a huge quarrel at home, he didn't expect his mother to send her a message with such vicious words.
Han sighed, "I remember I told you before that before choosing me, you should carefully consider the differences between us. I also told you what consequences these differences would lead to."
Lu Xiaoping didn't say anything. Of course he remembered what Han Que had said.
But he didn't care at that time. He was only thinking about conquering her and didn't think about things so far in the future.
Han continued, "You didn't believe what I said at the time, or you simply didn't think about what the outcome would be between us."
Lu Xiaoping moved his lips, wanting to say something.
Han made a blocking gesture. "It's okay if you didn't consider these things at the time. After all, no one knows what will happen in the future. But now that it has happened, we should face it and solve it, right?"
Lu Xiaoping frowned: "So your solution is to break up, right?"
Han nodded and said clearly, "Yes."
Lu Xiaoping curled the corners of his mouth and sneered.
Han Que: "You don't have to be like this. At least I am facing it. You, on the other hand, chose to escape."
She paused and said, "I originally thought that since you don't want to face it, then don't face it. Let's just separate and leave some room for each other. Just like we didn't need a reason to be together in the first place, we don't need a reason to break up either."
Lu Xiaoping remained silent, his eyes gradually turning red.
Lu Xiaoping: "Do you just want to break up without any clear explanation?"
Han smiled and said, "Isn't it clear enough?"
Lu Xiaoping suddenly collapsed. He pulled hard at Han Que's fingers that were placed on the table, clenched them tightly, and pleaded in a trembling voice, "Han Que...can we not break up? I can sever ties with my family, we can..."
He couldn't continue, but Han looked at her, his dark eyes quiet and indifferent, without a trace of emotion.
After a moment's deliberation, Han pulled his hand away and said, "Let's talk about the rest of the matter. You still have quite a bit of money on your recharge card. If you can't use it up, you can refund it. I'll ask Zhou Hongbin for it, and I think he'll agree."
She paused. "As for Manager Chen of Chunyi Company, I've already communicated with him. I didn't follow their company's procedures last time, which caused him trouble. I apologize. If there's any inventory left from the previous purchases, you can return them to our company. I'll cover the loss. I've explained the situation to the company and expressed my position to Manager Chen. You can tell him this is my stance."
She looked at him and asked, "Do you think a financial solution is possible?"
Lu Xiaoping lowered his head and looked at the table, his expression unchanged.
Han frowned and asked, "If you have any other conditions, you can put forward them. Anything I can do is negotiable."
Lu Xiaoping whispered, "How are you going to solve this?"
Han didn't hear clearly, so she frowned and asked again, "What do you mean?"
Lu Xiaoping didn't say anything.
The sun was shining outside, but he sat there with cold hands and feet, and his heart grew colder.
Han waited a moment, a little impatient: "Lu Xiaoping, you just said that you spent money to top up my performance. Now that we are breaking up, I can apply to Zhou Hongbin for a refund. I have already communicated with the clients you introduced to me. If you are not satisfied with anything, please tell me."
Lu Xiaoping lowered his head and repeated, "What are you going to take responsibility for?"
Han Que: "Hmm?"
Lu Xiaoping sneered, "What can you afford?" He looked up at her with a hint of contempt in his eyes. "Han Que, do you have money? Don't you still owe a lot of foreign debt? Don't you still have to support your mother? Can the money you have afford it?"
Han gritted his teeth and turned away.
Lu Xiaoping sneered: "You talk nicely, pretending to be an independent woman, but how much money can you come up with? How are you going to come up with it?"
Han pursed his lips and said, "Don't worry about it. I can get it out anyway."
Lu Xiaoping asked sharply, "Do you want Gu Ningwei to pay for you?"
"I'll tell you again, my relationship with him is not as dirty as you think." Han glanced at him and said, "I have nothing to do with him, and I won't let him pay for me."
Lu Xiaoping snorted, "It doesn't matter? Well, even if you don't have a relationship now, that's your plan. You are the big fish you are going to catch, right?"
Han turned away and ignored him.
Lu Xiaoping continued, "He's much richer and smarter than me. What does that little money mean to him? As long as he wants, he can spend as much money as you want. Unlike me, I can only use the supplementary card..."
Tears welled up in his eyes, his throat choked, and he couldn't continue speaking.
Han pursed his lips and said nothing.
The restaurant waiter brought the plate and placed the plate and porridge on the table. A few slices of black beef covered half of the plate, and the millet porridge was bubbling and steaming.
Lu Xiaoping sat there blankly for a while, then suddenly stood up and said, "I'm leaving now. I'll send you the card number."
As he said this, he pushed his chair aside and walked straight through the crowd of people waiting for a table in front of him and headed towards the glass door.
Han turned around and looked at his tall and thin figure and his staggering steps, which made him look particularly lonely.
She lowered her head expressionlessly as she ate the plate of black pepper beef rice on the table.
