Chapter 42 Threat

Chapter 42 Threat

The two people on the sofa looked at each other for a few times, looking Han Que up and down. After a long while, one of them slowly said, "My last name is Ma, his last name is Niu, we are from Huili Investment Company, and you are Han Que?"

Han Que remained calm and said, "Yes, hello Mr. Ma and Mr. Niu, I'm Han Que. What can I do for you?"

The man surnamed Ma was a little surprised. He looked her up and down again, frowned, and asked, "Who is Han Youfang to you?"

Han said calmly: "She is my father's sister. I call her aunt."

The man surnamed Ma asked again, "I heard that you owe her money?"

Han nodded: "Yes, my father borrowed money from her for medical treatment before he died."

Ma nodded and muttered, "Just admit it." Then he asked, "Then did you know that Han Youfang owed our company money?"

Han shook his head: "My aunt and I don't interact much now, so I don't know much about her affairs."

"Not sure?" The man surnamed Ma snorted, tilted his head towards his companion, and gestured, "Show her the evidence and make her understand clearly."

The man surnamed Niu then limped over, the gold chain around his thick neck gleaming. He leaned over and pulled out a few pages of A4 paper from the briefcase tucked under his arm, flipping through them. He then pulled out a crumpled piece of paper and waved it in front of Han Que. "Han Youfang borrowed money from our company and couldn't pay it back. She mortgaged your IOU to us and asked us to pay you back."

He looked down at the note and asked, "Who is this Liu Suping? She said she's your mother, right?"

Han remained silent.

Seeing that Han remained silent, Niu and Ma thought she refused to admit her mistake. They looked at each other, and the one surnamed Ma threatened: "We have a contract signed by your aunt and an IOU written by your mother to her. It's reasonable for us to come to you to ask for money. It's only natural to pay back a debt. We don't need to repeat this truth again. If you are reasonable, everything will be fine. If you are unreasonable..." He chuckled a few times and didn't say anything else.

Han pursed his lips and smiled. "Mr. Ma, Mr. Niu, legally speaking, Han Youfang and I are two different individuals. The money she owes you and the money I owe her are two different things. Every wrong has its perpetrator, every debt has its creditor. What she owes you, you should just go to her to collect. Why are you looking for me?"

"You owed her money first, so she can't give us any. We're asking you to pay us, so we can be considered doing her a favor." Liu turned around and looked at the people in the surrounding offices peeking in to see what was going on. He then turned to Han Que with a look of sarcasm, "Your colleagues are all watching you. The reputation of being a deadbeat is not good. You're not going to give up even this little bit of dignity, are you?"

"I just said, you've got the wrong person." Han said indifferently, "Go ask whoever you need money from, and don't bother me with my work."

"Oh, little girl, you're quite sharp-tongued." The man surnamed Ma rolled up his sleeves, raised his fist, and approached her. "I told you, don't be ungrateful. I'm telling you again, it's only natural to pay back a debt. Don't act like a decent person in front of me, do you hear me?"

Seeing Han didn't say anything, but just turned his head coldly to the side, he spat fiercely on the ground and cursed: "Bitch."

Han ignored his foul language. She walked to the glass door and gestured for them to leave. "Gentlemen, please go back. You don't need to worry about Han Youfang and me."

The man surnamed Ma was about to start cursing, but the man surnamed Niu stopped him and said with a smile, "Forget it, don't waste your breath. If you don't pay me back, I'll resort to some trickery. I wonder how much this girl can do against us."

Niu turned to Han and said, "Little girl, we are also a legitimate company. We are here to collect the money from you and don't want to cause you any trouble. How about this, since you are a young girl, we will give you a week. If you pay back the money, we can talk about anything else."

He paused, looking at Han Que, his dim eyes motionless. "If it's overdue and we find out that you delayed her repayment, then you can consider the consequences yourself. We all know where you live and your mother's situation. Even if you don't care about yourself, you should consider your mother. I heard that she is old and in poor health, and she can't withstand the hardship."

Han's face suddenly turned pale, his body stiffened and he didn't move.

The man surnamed Niu smiled sinisterly and hinted, "Think about it carefully." He then pulled the man surnamed Ma and said, "Let's go, let's go. Stop talking nonsense. She should know the consequences."

"Damn, you can tell she's a cheap bitch at first glance. She looks so slutty. If she wants to make money, she can just spread her thighs and let men fuck her a few times. The money will come, but she's still pretending to be cool. If she doesn't want to pay back the money, let someone fuck her to death. See if she dares to talk back..." The man surnamed Ma was swearing and walked out of the door cursing.

The moment the glass door opened automatically, the man surnamed Niu turned around, sneered sinisterly at Han, and silently said one word: "Fuck."

Han stood there motionless, his palms and back were wet, and he was sweating profusely. The cold wind blew and he felt cold all over.

The automatic glass door opened and closed several times. After an unknown amount of time, the onlookers came out of their offices, gathered around Han Que, and asked about his well-being.

"Oh my, who are you? You scared me to death!"

"Han Que, what's wrong with you? How did you provoke these people? They look like living ghosts. We can't afford to offend these people."

"What did you do to owe them money?"

"What about the security guards downstairs? What are they doing? Letting these people in makes me feel unsafe even when I'm working in the company."

They gathered around Han Que and chattered, and no one remembered to pour her a glass of water.

Han, with a pale face and trembling body, silently squeezed through the crowd, intending to return to his office and find a chair to sit down. Just as he was about to leave, he heard Jiang Jin's voice behind him, "What's going on? What are you all doing blocking the door? Aren't you all going to work?"

Seeing this, everyone wanted to scatter like birds and beasts. Jiang Jin walked in, his face gloomy. He looked at everyone with a sharp gaze, finally landing on Han Que. He sneered, "I just got back from a meeting at the group, and when I walked in, I saw that none of you were at your posts. You were all busy gossiping and chatting at the door. Don't you have any work discipline at all?"

The onlookers didn't dare to say a word, with their heads hung low. They didn't know whether to leave or stay, so they could only listen to the lecture.

Jiang Jin frowned and asked Liu Tongtong: "What's going on?"

Liu Tongtong lowered her head and stammered, not daring to say a word.

Jiang Jin waved at her and said, "Go find your Director Xiao."

Before Liu Tongtong could leave, Xiao Mei, the executive director, appeared in the front hall like a gust of wind. With a stern face, she scolded Liu Tongtong, "How many times have I told you that your most important responsibility is to guard the company's door and not let anyone in. Look at those two people just now, they don't look like good people at first glance. How could you let them in without even asking? This is a dereliction of duty on your part."

"I...they..." Liu Tongtong's face turned red after being scolded. She was speechless and was about to cry. She stammered, "I asked, and they said they came to Han Que for an urgent matter. They also provided Han Que's phone number, and, and..." She looked at Jiang Jin's gloomy expression again and did not dare to continue.

"Looking for Han Que?" Jiang Jin narrowed his eyes. He turned around and looked for Han Que in the crowd, only to find that she had already left the front desk and was nowhere to be seen.

Jiang Jin frowned, paused, and then asked, "What do they want from Han Que?"

Liu Tongtong glanced at the director secretly but didn't dare to say anything.

"Tell me, why are you looking at me? Weren't you there just now? You should report honestly to General Jiang." Xiao Mei glared at Liu Tongtong sternly.

Liu Tongtong didn't dare to hide it, and stammered in a low voice, "They came to ask Han Que for money."

"You want money?" Jiang Jin frowned.

"Yeah, it's outrageous. I don't know what kind of trouble Han got herself into outside, but she brought people to the company. She's really indecent." Xiao Mei complained: "She looks quite positive on the outside, but why is she like this outside? If all the employees in the company are like her in the future, how can others feel safe at work?"

"Director Xiao, how do you know it's because Han Que is being unruly outside?" Jiang Jin looked at her coldly with a sullen face.

"This..." Xiao Mei was stunned. She looked at Jiang Jin and retorted sarcastically, "If she hadn't caused trouble outside, why would people come to the company to collect debts? Is there any need to ask?"

Xiao Mei and Li Zhekai are relatives, and Xiao Mei is also Li's confidant and gatekeeper in the company. She doesn't care what Jiang Jin can do to her. On the contrary, she looks down on Jiang Jin as a "son-in-law" from the bottom of her heart. Of course, she looks down on women like Han Que who survive on their looks.

"Director Xiao, you must be responsible for what you say. I don't know if you understand the situation. It doesn't seem right to express your opinion without authorization." Jiang Jin also knew Xiao Mei's background and didn't want to confront her head-on. After he finished speaking, he turned and was about to leave.

Xiao Mei sneered behind him, "It seems that President Jiang really loves his soldiers like his own sons. He protects the employees of your department without any distinction."

Jiang Jin paused, then turned back to look at Xiao Mei with a cold expression. He said, "Let's put aside Han Que's matter for now, but Director Xiao, as the company's executive director, didn't address the situation immediately and maintain the company's working environment. Instead, he pushed the responsibility onto the new employee in your department." He chuckled, "Although I can't say I love my soldiers like my own sons, I won't let my subordinates take the blame."

"You..." Xiao Mei's face turned red and white. She gritted her teeth and sneered at Jiang Jin, "Mr. Jiang, aren't you in charge of sales? Since when did you become the Executive Director? You're really overreaching."

Jiang Jin chuckled. "You are not under my charge, but Han is from our sales department. She got into trouble in the company, and it's your administration department's fault. If you have any objections to this matter, we might as well report it to General Manager Gu and ask him to judge the matter."

When Xiao Mei saw him mention Gu Ningwei, her face changed drastically. Of course, she had heard the rumors about Han Que and Gu Ningwei. If the matter was reported to Gu Ningwei, Li Zhekai would not be able to help her, so she could only turn around and walk away in disappointment.

Jiang Jin sneered.
