A quiet night
"I can hardly breathe. What did that idiot just do?" Huo Chi bent down and took a deep breath. For the little time that was taken away, he cursed angrily: "Where is he? I bet this is definitely not something a companion should do!"
Bian Chengsi was stunned for a moment, then his eyes regained clarity: "He just froze us? God, this ability is really unfair."
Xi Feibai's special ability affects everyone within the range, depending on their physical condition. Huo Chi and Bian Chengsi wake up the fastest, while Liu Xin and Su Yunyun feel dizzy and unstable, and even feel like vomiting.
"Let's talk?" Jiang Ziyao saw Wang Yu adjusting the wristband on her hand, which was a sign of leaving, so he extended the invitation.
"No, not now." Wang Yu was in a bad mood and refused, "Today is not suitable for discussing complicated things. No one should have conflicts today, even though your old lover has sent you a guardian knight, and I have to bow to you."
"If you think so, okay..." Jiang Ziyao held his hands and exhaled: "Ladies first."
"I'm going to go out and do some research. There will always be some disturbances in a group of alien species. Also, today is Youyou's birthday. I hope to see you in the apartment when I come back. Even if there is a storm tomorrow, why not enjoy another pleasant night? Relax, men. You look like chickens with feathers flying all over your body now." Wang Yu glanced at Bian Chengsi: "Especially you. Men should take care of their faces, so as not to lose this only advantage."
Bian Chengsi asked: "Where is Zhou Ting? Why isn't she here? There is no reason for her not to go out with you." He clearly remembered that it was usually Su Yunyun and Mo Yu who stayed at the base, and Zhou Ting would only follow Wang Yu's footsteps.
Liu Xin snorted and laughed: "You are still thinking about her in your heart. I thought you just liked to be a light bulb in front of a pair of gays."
Huo Chi shrugged. Being gay was not too offensive to him. Bian Chengsi kept a straight face and said, "So?"
"I was tripped up by family gossip." Wang Yu replied: "If you want to know the details, you can go to her. You will always find them."
Jiang Ziyao watched from afar as the second team quickly left the North Sentry Tower. He turned his head and saw Bian Chengsi's gaze just moved back. When the two met, Bian Chengsi lowered his head timidly.
"Do you want to continue the conversation?" Jiang Ziyao said calmly, "Let's continue with the topic we haven't finished yet."
Bian Chengsi nodded, and Jiang Ziyao walked over and patted his shoulder, a classic gesture of comfort.
Bian Chengsi is now an "unemployed vagrant" in Utopia. The laborers in the factory are constantly putting pressure on Zhou Kangcheng because of his wrongful killing, at least on the surface. So Zhou Kangcheng handed over his task of inspecting internal security to other people in the name of giving Bian Chengsi a temporary rest.
Bian Chengsi is still in an abyss of guilt that cannot be remedied.
They stood in a place with a wide view. Bian Chengsi squatted at Jiang Ziyao's feet and thought for a long time, like a mute who didn't know where to start.
Jiang Ziyao looked at his silence and thought that when he knew the truth, all his pent-up emotions would turn into anger. From that short sentence, Jiang Ziyao seemed to see the scene of Bian Chengsi turning into an angry lion and tearing Zhou Kangcheng to pieces.
Jiang Ziyao asked: "You don't know, or don't want to say it?"
"Why are you so slow?" Huo Chi impatiently tried to pry his mouth open with his hands, but Jiang Ziyao was willing to give him a little more patience.
"I just can't figure it out." said Bian Chengsi.
"Because why?" Jiang Ziyao asked.
Bian Chengsi stared at his heels, twisting a stone in his palm. "I asked Captain Zhou yesterday that the mission delivered to the law enforcers is a one-way channel. If anyone can use a life to trap me, besides the law enforcers, it can only be the people with the most power here."
"I can't doubt the people around me who have been through life and death with me. What's more, we have no intersection. The only one who can be related to me is the Zhou family."
Huo Chi laughed: "It seems that you have finally figured it out."
"But I don't understand what he can gain by doing this!" Bian Chengsi was a little emotional. He frowned and felt wronged. Even his voice trembled more and more. "I don't understand why he did that. He made me suffer, drove me away, or even killed me? I don't know how to face him anymore. My parents have been very busy. When I was a child, only he and Zhou Ting were with me. He is my second father."
Huo Chi said: "Even a tiger won't eat its own cubs, but you two are not related by blood."
Jiang Ziyao covered his mouth: "Say less."
Huo Chi turned his head and said, "Be more ruthless. Only when you fall hard can you learn your lesson. Brother Jiang, you can't protect him like this! This is meaningless!"
"There's no need to be so harsh on him." Jiang Ziyao said, "Besides, this is what I want to do. This guy said something similar when we met once. I probably feel the same way."
Jiang Ziyao reached out his hand to Bian Chengsi, held it, pulled him up, and gave him a hug. He patted Bian Chengsi's back with his palm and said, "You will know everything you want to know. I promise."
Bian Chengsi's eyes flashed with surprise: "Brother Jiang..."
Jiang Ziyao said, "But not today. Be cheerful. Go to the infirmary and take care of your injuries first. Take good care of yourself. See you in the evening."
Bian Chengsi nodded. Jiang Ziyao's words made him feel at ease.
After the people had disappeared, Huo Chi said, "Brother Jiang, you never made promises before."
Jiang Ziyao said: "Yes, but I did it now."
Huo Chi asked hurriedly: "Why?"
Just as Jiang Ziyao was about to say something, Huo Chi stared at him seriously: "I can no longer accept the feeling of being kept in the dark, and I don't want to make random guesses out of fear. You have to tell me everything, you must."
Jiang Ziyao nodded, then said: "Should I believe you?"
Huo Chi was stunned: "What?!" The air froze for three seconds. He touched the back of his head and stepped back, his eyes blank as if he had been slapped hard in the face. "Brother Jiang, is that true?"
"Did I... did I do something wrong?" His voice began to stutter, which was completely different from his heart rate.
Jiang Ziyao opened his mouth, but before he could say anything, "No, wait!" Huo Chi took a breath and said, "I don't know why you said that, but damn it, you must trust me. Do you need me to dig your heart out now?"
"You misunderstood." Jiang Ziyao held him back and looked at him, to prevent him from exploding in excitement. "Only you will I believe in unconditionally. I trust you, so I know what to do next."
"No, no, no—" Huo Chi's puzzled and even somewhat aggrieved expression froze. He shook his head repeatedly: "You're not talking about me, but that person."
"The way you look at me has changed, Brother Jiang! Are you thinking about him when you are looking at me?" Huo Chi suddenly realized: "He is not okay! I told you! He is a lunatic!"
“He’s the man of the future.”
Jiang Ziyao smiled and sighed, "I can be sure of this now. Maybe he came from many years later. He knows what will happen here, so he wants to save us from getting wet in the rain before the storm comes."
"He solved my problem, and I also knew that he came prepared."
"I am now certain that we are here because of him and that alien from time and space."
Jiang Ziyao asked: "Will your future self harm me?"
"No." Huo Chi replied: "He is crazy and I hate him, but the fact that he loves you will never change."
Jiang Ziyao said: "That's enough."
"But..." Huo Chi's eyes met Jiang Ziyao's burning gaze. He now realized his passive position. That old man could just divert Jiang Ziyao's attention away from him. He wiped his face helplessly. This sense of crisis made him very uneasy.
Huo Chi sighed: "I won't hurt you."
Jiang Ziyao nodded: "I know this too."

A long table and chairs had been set up on the sand slope near the watchtower. It was windy but not rainy. In order to prevent any emergencies, they chose to hold the party outdoors. The law enforcers were all there. They seldom gathered together like this unless they were in big trouble. When it was getting dark, Huo Chi lit a few small fires around which were bright enough.
The protagonist of the party, Wang Youyou, wore a red dress and her hair was braided with a bow headband. She asked everyone with pride and anticipation: "This is my hair, my sister braided it for me. Does it look good?"
"certainly."
"Youyou is the most beautiful little princess today."
Wang Youyou always gets the answer she wants.
Longevity noodles have become a must-have on birthdays. Unlike the noodles for children, those for adults are sprinkled with red peppers.
Wang Yu and Jiang Ziyao mentioned this when they met in the evening. The alien species and zombies were real, and their numbers were enough to break the city of Utopia. Under the leadership of Wen Liao, they were narrowing the encirclement of Utopia.
Wang Yu had forgotten the man she had let go in the basement. She was full of curiosity about the leader of the alien species. They did not talk much tonight. Chen Yu brought some wine, a bottle of red wine and a bottle of white wine. These were prizes he won from intercepting supplies, and they were kept in his own small private warehouse. It was his tradition to take out two bottles a year.
Chen Yu raised his glass and said to everyone, "Let's drink this!"
Jiang Ziyao didn't like drinking, so he declined and only took two sips of the red wine: "Drunk, serious?"
Chen Yu said, "How could that be? Our metabolism is several times higher than that of a normal person. Even if we drink a few bottles, we will only be slightly tipsy at best. What's that?"
The girls under Wang Yu were watching Wang Youyou eating longevity noodles. Zhou Zhe was sitting at the table, drinking alone, but he was surrounded by a group of difficult and talkative teammates. He would sometimes laugh while drinking.
Bian Chengsi finally didn't have a swollen head. He was dressed neatly and decently, and his young face was solemn and watching silently.
Zhou Ting took the initiative to find Chengsi: "You owed me a dance before, do you remember?"
She was wearing a long black skirt and her hair was neatly tied up. She liked to wear skirts, even in battle. The light hem of the skirt was at odds with the cold and stern feeling she gave people. The gentle firelight made her face radiant.
"I remember that at the holiday party, someone put laxatives in my drink, and I stood you up." Bian Chengsi took her hand and hesitated for a moment.
“I had my first dance party in the bathroom.”
Zhou Ting was surprised: "I don't know, I thought you were embarrassing me on purpose..."
Bian Chengsi curled his lips and sighed: "No, of course not, but you are very angry and I messed up."
"Can I make up for my regret now?"
"Come on." Zhou Ting stared at him deeply.
Bian Chengsi was sure that there was love in her eyes, like a ball of burning fire, and this was exactly what he needed now. Bian Chengsi reached out and held her waist. Ballroom dancing was a compulsory course they had started in elementary school. The handsome man and the beautiful woman paired together, their feet stepped on the fire together.
Zhou Zhe stood up and turned his instrument into a violin to play a piece of music. His fingers moved gracefully like an artist's outstanding painting and his eyes were empty and immersed in the music.
In the quiet night, there was pleasant music. Jiang Ziyao rarely saw such a peaceful scene even in his dreams. Huo Chi took a big gulp of white wine, swallowed it, and held his face for a spicy kiss. Jiang Ziyao exposed his little thoughts: "Don't pretend to be drunk."
Bian Chengsi and Zhou Ting danced the entire dance. Zhou Ting stood on tiptoes and kissed him on the lips. Bian Chengsi's face immediately turned red physiologically. He didn't know how to deepen the kiss and was as clumsy as a child who couldn't move.
"I'm very happy." Zhou Ting smiled, but she didn't get close to him again. She broke off the hand that Bian Chengsi was holding and said to him, "Leave here, leave Utopia. Just listen to me this time, please."
Bian Chengsi had a pair of bright eyes; his surprise and disappointment were so obvious, but he was calmer than he thought.
"I always contradict you and make you hate me."
“And I still am.”
Bian Chengsi said: "I know everything. I can't leave."
Zhou Ting's body swayed, and she closed her eyes in despair: "He is my father."
"I understand, my love for you will not change, so I believe you were never involved and this has nothing to do with you. I will do what I should do, and you too." After saying that, Bian Chengsi turned around and left Zhou Ting.
"If you ask me, it's not a wise move to abandon your girlfriend right now." When Bian Chengsi walked in front of Jiang Ziyao and Huo Chi, Huo Chi glanced at him, "It's especially unwise for you to disturb my world of two. I really want to have a passionate kiss now. Do you want to learn kissing skills from the side?"
Bian Chengsi's expression didn't change at all. He didn't even show much surprise when he realized that the two people he had always regarded as brothers were gay. He looked depressed as if he had been heartbroken: "You don't look like a couple, you look more like a family, and I'm a fool. I can't see anything."
"Although you are indeed stupid, it is understandable that you can't see it, because Brother Jiang and I are different, kid. Brother Jiang and I are family first, and then lovers. We are sincere to each other, and then we have sex." Huo Chi shook his head, and he held Jiang Ziyao's hand even tighter. The latter glared at him.
"Gentlemen, put down what you are doing and come over here." Wang Yu called out, she took out a Polaroid camera and asked everyone to take a group photo. What she meant was, who knows how many years there will be in the future, you have to leave something in this world to prove that you have been here.
A group of people sat together. Wang Youyou was held high by Wang Yu. She was giggling and holding Jiang Ziyao with her other hand. After adjusting the position of the camera, Zhou Zhe aimed the shutter.
"three."
"two."
"one."
Huo Chi found the right moment, turned his head, laughed, and kissed Jiang Ziyao on the face.
