Huo Chi
Jiang Ziyao heard a crisp snap of fingers. His fingers brushed against the breeze, and ripples like sea water appeared on the soles of his feet. A school of transparent fish passed through his body and swam towards the end of the white light.
There were no bones under their transparent bodies, and the edges of their fins were glowing blue bands. The bright colors were beautiful, and the touch felt like the coolness of running water sliding across his skin, which temporarily made him lose the emotion to experience the tranquility, and along with it, his physical discomfort also went away.
Jiang Ziyao was not sure how long this process lasted, perhaps it was very short and he lost track of time. When the school of fish came out of the end, the white light in front of him expanded until it occupied his entire field of vision and made it impossible for him to open his eyes.
"It may be a little uncomfortable, but it won't last long, I promise." Xi Feibai turned around, smiling and opening his arms, "We have arrived. The Lost Land is welcoming its second owner."
Jiang Ziyao opened his eyes and looked around quietly. The building in front of him was not a towering wall like that of Utopia, but just a simple school gate - the north gate entrance of Hongzhong University. The most conspicuous thing was the stone tablet engraved with the name of the university and the security booth on the right.
From Tianhai City to here, they crossed at least two provinces. It was daytime now, which meant that this trip took them about twelve hours, but Jiang Ziyao did not feel the passage of time at all. Every breath of air he breathed was clean, which made him feel his unobstructed respiratory tract again.
Huo Chi patted his shoulder.
Jiang Ziyao turned around and used his palm to block the sun above his head. A horizontal black line appeared in his field of vision, spanning a very long distance.
"You're going the wrong way." Xi Feibai said hurriedly, "You can't get through that way. We can't waste any more time, or I'll get criticized." He was about to chase after them when he suddenly felt a little extra weight on his shoulders.
Xi Feibai's eyes widened instantly, and he stopped in fear. He swallowed softly, "Boss."
The person he was looking at was staring straight ahead. Xi Feibai was good at judging the situation, so he shut his mouth and stood aside obediently, acting as a background.
Jiang Ziyao and Huo Chi didn't know someone was coming behind them. They were attracted by the black line in front of them, about a hundred meters away. When they got closer, they found that it was a ravine, as wide as a river, and looking down, it looked like a black abyss that was bottomless.
Opposite is the ruins of a city, gray and dilapidated like a graveyard. This moat-like thing surrounds the entire lost land, making it an independent fortress.
Jiang Ziyao and the others were shocked. This must be an extremely difficult project. Even in modern times, it would take many years to dig it with human power and machines. They did not think that this was something that could be created by manpower alone.
"How did you dig out such a terrain?" Jiang Ziyao couldn't help asking. He turned around, and his lips that were raised when he asked suddenly flattened down.
"It's you."
"It's me." The other party replied.
Jiang Ziyao saw a "stranger", a tall man wearing a tight suit. His hair was longer than the others, with the roots of his hair on the back of his head touching his neck, but the hair around his face was combed neatly, revealing a clean face.
"As long as you want, I can tell you slowly." When the other party saw that Jiang Ziyao's eyes were focused on him, there was obviously more relaxation and comfort in his tone.
Jiang Ziyao's eyes were looking upwards, because Huo Chi was taller than him. He was probably over 1.9 meters tall? Jiang Ziyao didn't expect Huo Chi to grow taller, which made him, as a man, a little unwilling to admit defeat in this regard. He frowned, and his expression became even more unhappy.
Huo Chi, he finally met this "old acquaintance". In the past, he could only hear his voice and could only picture his shadow through his eyes, but now he saw him in person...
Jiang Ziyao felt unfamiliar. Even though he had prepared himself mentally, he still felt a little uncomfortable. This man was unlike the Huo Chi he knew in every way. His image was also very different from what Jiang Ziyao had imagined.
Huo Chi looked like an elite, becoming the "office executive" that he hated. His jawline became sharper, which was a symbol of maturity for men. He did not have a beard, and Jiang Ziyao just happened to not like beards. Huo Chi swore to him before that he would not become a bearded uncle even after decades.
Huo Chi is not that young anymore. His shoulders support his clothes and he is well-dressed. He is a real adult.
"He looks like a dog." Huo Chi rolled his eyes when he saw the other person looked like a rich man. He was one centimeter shorter than Jiang Ziyao, which was not a big deal between lovers, but the man opposite him looked at least five centimeters taller than him, which was a contempt for him.
Huo Chi stared at him, his eyes almost popping out.
Jiang Ziyao turned his head to look at Huo Chi, then looked back. They both had the same long brow bones, but Huo Chi's eyebrows looked thicker, like a sharp razor. There was no immaturity on his face, and his eyes were darker, calm, deep and extremely aggressive. He looked like the kind of guy who would quietly tear people apart.
"You don't need to be on guard against me." Huo Chi looked at him for a few seconds. His eyes were like a burning fire. In order not to burn people, he could only hide his extra emotions.
Huo Chi snorted, "Don't try to get close to me. Brother Jiang doesn't know you well."
Huo Chi gave him a sidelong glance, but he was not convinced and would not back down: "What are you looking at! I'm here, don't think you, an old man, can get any further!"
"It's been many years." Huo Chi let out a calm sigh.
Xi Feibai suddenly felt that something was wrong. His face was stiff and he quietly took a few steps back to create more distance. It was not that he was overreacting. In fact, he knew Huo Chi very well.
Huo Chi turned over his right palm.
The alarm radar in Jiang Ziyao's mind immediately sounded, and he stood in front of Huo Chi a few seconds before Huo Chi was blown away.
"what you up to?"
Jiang Ziyao said to Huo Chi in a warning tone.
Huo Chi didn't like wasting even a minute on others, and he didn't like Jiang Ziyao standing opposite him. His expression didn't change, but the veins on the back of his hand revealed his displeasure.
Boom——!
There was a loud explosion behind Jiang Ziyao. Huo Chi directly blew up a building in the urban area outside the ravine, about two kilometers away.
He was venting and also provoking Huo Chi, but Huo Chi couldn't do it with such power. He was successfully enraged, and looked around as if he wanted to burn something in order to challenge Huo Chi.
Xi Feibai politely pointed to the opposite side and said that if they were to burn anything, they could only burn the abandoned urban area, but unfortunately Huo Chi couldn't burn it. He began to get angry with himself and wanted to die here first.
Jiang Ziyao soon discovered that they still had one thing in common: they had quick tempers and each one was more irritating than the other, so when put together they were like a bunch of annoying firecrackers.
But there is a huge gap in strength between the two sides, and if Huo Chi fights him, he will definitely not end up well.
"Will you come to me? Once again..."
Huo Chi gave him another calm smile, then began to fiddle with his fingers awkwardly.
"Of course, do I need to bow to you first to express my honor?" Jiang Ziyao walked towards Huo Chi with a standard smile on his face. He did not hide his sarcastic tone at all, as if he wanted to poke a hole in Huo Chi.
Huo Chi's original mad look disappeared, and he began to gloat. He knew deeply the meaning of Jiang Ziyao's smile. If it were him, his brain would immediately review everything that had happened recently, find out the mistakes he might have made, and quickly start to repent. Jiang Ziyao was always like this when he was angry. He would slap him in the face with a smile, like a stern elder.
Huo Chi didn't move.
Jiang Ziyao had already walked in front of Huo Chi, his steps were very fast, but Huo Chi just stared at him with his dark eyes, scanning his eyebrows more clearly, over and over again.
Huo Chi said in a gentle tone: "We still have a lot to say."
"certainly."
Jiang Ziyao paused for a moment and smiled.
However, the next second, Huo Chi's head was hit and deflected. Before Jiang Ziyao's smile faded, his right hand had already clenched into a fist and punched Huo Chi's face directly. The back of his hand brushed the other's ear, cheekbone, and even the masseter and lips.
Jiang Ziyao rubbed his fists and said sharply: "I don't like others forcing me, including you."
Jiang Ziyao's punch was merciless. Huo Chi was caught off guard and his body was shaken by the force. He tilted his head and looked over.
Huo Chi said nothing. No one could make him feel pain except Jiang Ziyao. He scraped his lip and wiped the blood from the corner of his lips with his fingers, licking the blood with pleasure.
He looked at Jiang Ziyao and suddenly laughed, the smile still on the corners of his mouth and also in his eyes.
Huo Chi admitted that he was enjoying this moment. There was something very eye-catching on his slender finger bones, a silver ring, and a ring on his left ring finger.
Jiang Ziyao saw it, and Huo Chi saw it too. Huo Chi, who was originally watching the fun, suddenly rushed forward excitedly. He wanted to pry the other person's hand over to see it, but Huo Chi did not give him the opportunity. Jiang Ziyao pulled this fearless man back in advance.
Huo Chi saw the ring clearly and shouted excitedly: "It was at that fireworks festival, right? I'm so awesome, fuck!"
"I did it! Fuck! I, I knew I would succeed! Jiang, you love me so much!"
Huo Chi turned around and hugged Jiang Ziyao, kissed him madly on the face several times, and refused to let go. Jiang Ziyao saw that he was going crazy for no reason.
This was probably a secret between the two Huo Chi, Jiang Ziyao thought, but he didn't like secrets.
"Too noisy, lock him up." Huo Chi had completely exhausted his patience with his other self.
This was exactly why Xi Feibai didn't leave. He nodded, "Okay, Boss."
Xi Feibai shrugged helplessly at Huo Chi. He was very happy to end this battle. He pulled the space, and in a blink of an eye, he and the shouting Huo Chi disappeared.
Jiang Ziyao frowned slightly and decided to defend the one who looked more stupid: "You can't do this to him."
Huo Chi knew what he wanted to say: "He will be fine. I just don't like being around noise when I'm with you. I'll take you around. There are many good memories here."
"When I did something wrong, you would beat me up and then take me with you to correct it. You always do this. This time, you can't abandon me."
This made Jiang Ziyao see the old Huo Chi again. Huo Chi couldn't really kill him, so Jiang Ziyao had to accept the proposal. He raised his eyebrows and asked, "Aren't you going to talk about the ring first?"
Huo Chi turned the ring on his hand, a smile appeared on the corner of his lips: "Your name is engraved on it."
"You accepted my proposal on the night of the fireworks festival, by the bridge. You don't like crowds, and I guess you don't like too many people around you, so I chose to meet you under a big tree. There were no street lights there, but you saw clearly the ring I took out."
