Chang Yin never expected that treating an illness would lead to such a misunderstanding, but fortunately it was discovered in time, otherwise it might have caused unnecessary trouble.
"Comrade Shao, Dr. Li was specially dispatched from the north to treat your illness, and there is absolutely no problem with his identity."
You are bound not to prevent you from escaping.
"Yes, my legs are useless, how can I run?"
Chang Yin continued, "The reason you're tied up is because all your bones have been set. To facilitate better healing, some things have been fixed to your body. Tying you up is to prevent you from moving around and causing the newly set bones to break again."
So this is a last resort.
Shao Yan's words were all stuck in his throat. How could this be?
He still remembers the pain of his bones being shattered. To make him even more crippled, those people repeatedly struck the same spot with stones while his bones were broken. After all that, how could he possibly recover?
Thinking of this, Shao Yan felt all his strength disappear. "Comrade Chang, don't worry, as long as I live, I will contribute to China's shipbuilding industry."
Chang Yin nodded, and Shao Yan continued, "So, can you take notes for me now?"
Li Mingxuan and Chang Yin exchanged a glance, clearly not believing what they were saying.
"Comrade Shao, am I still a spy?"
Li Mingxuan asked with a light laugh.
Shao Yan shook her head. "I'm not sure anymore. However, I believe Comrade Chang's words. He said you're not a spy, and maybe I'm just overthinking it."
"Then why can't Comrade Shao believe that his body has really been cured?"
Shao Yan gave a wry smile. "Dr. Li, please don't take offense at my bluntness. With my injuries, there's no possibility of a full recovery even in the US. And with the strength of our China, is it even possible?"
Li Mingxuan stared intently into Shao Yan's eyes. "Mr. Shao, before you lost consciousness, you should remember that your head was violently struck, right?"
Shao Yan's pupils contracted instantly, then his eyes widened. Yes! He seemed to remember that at the last moment when Chang Yin and his men charged towards him, those American men, in order to prevent him from working for China, hit him on the head with a large rock.
The "thud" is still vivid in my memory. And after that, he completely lost consciousness.
But his brain doesn't seem to be affected at all. What?
Shao Yan stared at Li Mingxuan in disbelief, swallowing hard. "You, you mean you cured my head too?"
Li Mingxuan shook his head, and Shao Yan visibly breathed a sigh of relief. But what Li Mingxuan said next surprised him even more.
"Comrade Shao, your head was indeed severely injured. After my examination, even if you survive, you may never wake up again. You were saved by someone else, so your injuries have truly been healed."
After that, just rest and recuperate for two months. You'll be able to walk slowly after that.
Shao Yan could hardly believe what she was hearing. Really, really, she could still stand up?
Li Mingxuan seemed to understand the meaning in Shao Yan's eyes, and he nodded firmly, "Yes, you will definitely be able to stand up."
Chang Yin glanced at Li Mingxuan, who now seemed to have gained a deeper understanding of Tang Yue's medical skills. Did Li Mingxuan know something?
During his examination, he only said that if this person were to continue living, there might only be one person in the entire country who could do it.
At the time, Chang Yin was still somewhat skeptical, but after hearing the conversation between Li Mingxuan and Shao Yan, he realized more clearly that Shao Yan was so badly injured that there was no chance of survival.
How did that little girl manage to do that?
Seeing that the two seemed to have a lot more to say, Chang Yin stood up, nodded to them, and left.
Tang Yue had fallen asleep on her own, so she woke up automatically when Chang Yin entered the room.
When Chang Yin saw that she had woken up, he turned around and went out to bring in a large box.
Tang Yue got out of bed to look, frowning. There wasn't a single thing she recognized. And when Tang Yue saw that Chang Yin had brought these things over in a cardboard box, she pursed her lips.
Tang Yue also has a little-known hobby: being meticulous.
She always liked delicate things. Otherwise, she wouldn't have disassembled all the parts when Erluo took things apart; you wouldn't have noticed the machine was unusable unless you touched it.
What are these?
Chang Yin put the box on the ground. "These are toys I brought for you."
"Toy?"
Tang Yue squatted down and casually picked up a small metal box with a stiff wire hanging from it. She glanced at it, tossed it into the box, and stood up without looking at anything else.
Her small face was expressionless.
Chang Yin kept staring at her. "What's wrong? Don't you like it?"
Tang Yue narrowed her big eyes, "Uncle Chang, you'd better not be so serious when you're trying to fool people, otherwise..."
Chang Yin raised an eyebrow, and Tang Yue continued in a sinister tone, "I really want to punch you."
Chang Yin chuckled and sat down next to Tang Yue, turning her head to look at the little girl. "How is it? Can it be fixed?"
Tang Yue turned her head to the side and ignored him.
Tang Yue is now certain that if she says no, those two mortal things in her head will come out and cause trouble on their own. She still has to use most of her energy to stop them from running around.
"Uncle Chang, I've already told you, I can't fix things. Why don't you believe me?"
Chang Yin casually pointed to the items and said, "Whichever one you can fix, it's yours."
