Chapter 124 An Unexpected Surprise

124

Tang Nan ran over and circled Tang Yue twice. Tang Dong and Tang Bei also came over and stared at Tang Yue. Lin Cuicui and Old Li stood behind the child, looking at Tang Yue with curiosity.

Tang Nan held his younger sister's hand, looking her up and down. "Sister, where's the fabric? It's gone!"

While Tang Nan was examining her hand, Tang Yue took out the fabric. Seeing the fabric suddenly appear in Tang Yue's hand, Tang Nan let out a "whoosh" and took two steps back in fright.

Then he jumped back and clapped excitedly.

Tang Bei and Tang Dong also looked at Tang Yue with shining eyes.

Tang Yue smiled and then demonstrated with other things to the group, who gradually accepted the fact.

Tang Bei stared at Tang Yue intently and asked, "Little sister, can you put those things away?"

Tang Yue nodded, and the whole family looked at her incredulously. Lin Cuicui, in particular, had a very complicated expression on her face.

Tang Yue felt a pang of pain in her heart. Not wanting Lin Cuicui to overthink, she immediately spoke up, "It's like this. Last time I went up the mountain, I obtained an ancient jade. It turned out that it was a storage space. After I sealed it with my blood, it became one with my body. I can't take it out to show you."

However, I did hear my master mention that they all possessed such magical artifacts.

"Gulp!"

"Gulp!"

The sound of her swallowing was very obvious, and Lin Cuicui's eyes were no longer as restrained as before. Tang Yue secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Tang Dong grabbed Tang Yue's hand. "Little sister, do you mean you can pack a lot of things? Pack up all our things?"

Tang Yue smiled; her third brother was indeed clever.

"Yes! We don't know when the spies will come. It's not safe for us to stay at home. If they surround our house, none of us will be able to escape. So we can't just stay at home and wait."

Tang Dong nodded; he knew his sister was right.

The houses in Daobei Village are even more densely packed than those in Qiligou. If spies come, we'll drag the villagers down with us.

"Honey, where shall we go?"

Tang Yue looked towards the mountains behind the house. "Now that they're here, they shouldn't go back. They say you can't guard against thieves forever. This trouble needs to be dealt with as soon as possible."

Let's go into the mountains this time.

The family had no objections.

Old Li's voice was calm. "It's alright, we still have to eat no matter what. Come on, the food is ready, let's eat first, and then we'll pack up."

Perhaps because this wasn't the first time they'd encountered something like this, they weren't so afraid. The whole family pitched in, and soon they were all sitting at the table.

Halfway through the meal, Sister Miao arrived.

Where are you eating?

Lin Cuicui stood up. "Sister-in-law is here. Have you eaten? Want some more?"

"Oh, no, I just finished eating too. You guys eat. I'll just say a few words and then leave."

Everyone put down their bowls and looked at Sister Miao.

Miao Yujiao didn't mince words. "When I came back from work today, I heard that two people came into the village to inquire about your family. They said they were your relatives, and they seemed quite well-off. They gave each of the people who asked the questions a dollar."

Have any relatives come to visit?

After he said this, the family's expressions didn't change much, but they were indeed thinking that it had come quite quickly.

Seeing that no one in the family responded, Miao Yujiao didn't know how to continue the conversation.

Lin Cuicui snapped out of her daze, "Ah, sister-in-law, we don't think any relatives are coming over. Sister-in-law, we have some things to take care of and will be away for a few days, so please don't come over if you don't have anything else to do."

If anyone asks you, just say you don't know anything.

"What? What happened?"

Lin Cuicui forced a smile, "It's alright, there are some things to take care of. Sister-in-law, remember, never come over again, and don't let anyone else come to my house."

As they were talking, Lin Cuicui got up and came over to pull Miao Yujiao.

Before they even reached the door, Miao Yujiao stopped. "Cuicui, do you think something happened to your family? Tell us what happened, and we'll definitely help if we can."

Miao Yujiao still remembered how good their family had been to her. Since they came to Daobei Village, her family had benefited the most. It was unreasonable for them to just stand by and watch when their family was in trouble.

Lin Cuicui smiled and said, "Sister-in-law, you can't help with this. Listen to me, hurry up and leave. The fact that you're not coming is the biggest help you can give our family."

Miao Yujiao didn't argue with Lin Cuicui and walked away quickly.

Lin Cuicui sighed as she watched Miao Yujiao walk away.

When I got back and sat down at the table, I just couldn't eat anything. Everyone else felt the same way.

Tang Yue stood up. "Brothers, you guys clean up the dishes. I'll go inside and get some things."

Old Li had already stood up and gone inside. Lin Cuicui wasn't idle either; she grabbed a pickaxe and went to the backyard.

When Tang Yue entered the room, Old Li was tidying up Tang Bei and the others' things. "Grandpa, you don't need to tidy up. I'll just put it as it is now, so it'll be easy to find things when we need them."

Mom's probably gone to dig for those things; go help her.

"Oh, thank you for your hard work, Yueyue."

Tang Yue smiled and didn't say anything. Right under Old Li's nose, she directly touched the things in the house. Wherever she went, nothing was left in the house.

Old Li looked around for a while before turning and leaving. Tang Yue was quick; she didn't actually have much stuff at home—just a bed, blankets, and a woven trunk specifically for clothes.

The rest were just some small things that Tang Bei and the others usually tinkered with. Tang Yue put them all away without missing a single one.

Their own rooms were the same. When they came out, the kitchen had already been cleaned up by her three older brothers, and Tang Yue put everything away, even the big iron pot from home.
