Chapter 179 Chen Sanmei

179

Tang Yue's face remained expressionless as she nodded and prepared to leave. Chang Yin followed behind, carrying a large box.

Tang Yue stopped and turned around. "Is there something you need, Battalion Commander?"

Chang Yin gestured to the large box in his arms, "I found some more of the books you wanted, so I brought them over for you."

"oh."

Tang Yue wasn't in a good mood at the moment, but she still prepared to accept it. "Thank you, Battalion Commander, but I can keep it myself."

Chang Yin dodged to the side, saying, "I'll hold it for you."

Tang Yue didn't stand on ceremony and walked ahead. After thinking for a moment, she said, "Battalion Commander, could you go over there and bring back the books for me when you have time? I can take a look at them when I have time."

Chang Yin had already guessed what the little girl was thinking. "We should probably have to go over there again."

Tang Yue glanced back at him. With so many people around, Chang Yin didn't say anything more. Once they reached an open area on the playground, Chang Yin continued, "They've only done half of what they've done over there. You probably haven't explained many of your ideas to them yet. Even if you're going out, you need to make your thoughts clear to everyone."

That way, even if you're away for a while, their work won't fall behind.

Tang Yue understood Chang Yin's meaning and knew that this was the best solution. However, Commander Kang hadn't given a specific answer yet, and Tang Yue was now somewhat agitated.

"Then let's go over there later."

It's getting dark now, so it'll be more discreet to go there.

"Have those people from the daytime been identified?"

Tang Yue was referring to the assassins they encountered on their way back from the research lab.

Chang Yin nodded. "Yes, it's definitely a Japanese spy. They already know that the person who stopped this operation was a young girl. After investigation, they've focused their attention on you."

Tang Yue didn't care.

Chang Yin continued, "Little Yueyue, you need to be more careful in the future. Japan knows about this news, and the United States and Russia will soon find out as well; they might already know."

Tang Yue shrugged indifferently, "I didn't miss a single thing, what's the point of them arresting me? If Japan is doing this for revenge, then what reason do the US and Russia have to target me?"

Chang Yin looked down at the petite girl who barely reached his waist. "Have you forgotten about intercepting Albert at sea? You've now made an enemy of the United States."

Tang Yue felt that even if the US knew, they wouldn't be as ruthless as Japan, targeting and killing members of their family. "What about my mother?"

This was also something Chang Yin wanted to continue discussing with Tang Yue. "Your mother went into labor immediately upon hearing the news, and she encountered a difficult delivery. So now we want to know who your mother heard about your father from. We can't ask her right now, but could you ask her when you get back?"

Tang Yue had remembered this matter, but she was too busy at home to pay attention to it.

"Okay, I'll go back and ask now."

When Tang Yue returned, Lin Cuicui was sleeping. After all, childbirth is very mentally and physically exhausting. Little Tang Xi ate his fill and then fell asleep, so Lin Cuicui took this opportunity to get some rest.

Old Li was washing Tang Xi's diapers, while the three Tang brothers sat in the main room staring at each other.

Chang Yin put the things down, and Tang Yue came out of Lin Cuicui's room, her voice very low.

"My mom is sleeping. I'll ask her later."

As Tang Yue saw Chang Yin off, she couldn't help but say, "Battalion Commander, I want to leave tomorrow."

Chang Yin stopped in his tracks. "Commander Kang needs time to apply to his superiors."

Tang Yue didn't want to hear Chang Yin's excuses. "I don't think I'm someone who needs protection. Besides, my father was originally a soldier from the South Island. It's perfectly reasonable for the South Island to send reinforcements when their squad got into trouble."

Before Chang Yin could speak, Tang Yue continued, "If Commander Kang doesn't agree, then I'll leave on my own tomorrow."

Chang Yin asked coldly, "Do you know where your father disappeared? Do you know the current troop deployments on both sides? Where can you look for him if you just go out like this?"

Tang Yue thought to herself that none of this would be a problem for her. However, she couldn't say these things to Chang Yin.

Before leaving, Chang Yin reminded him, "Don't forget about going over there."

Chang Yin and Tang Yue always went to the research institute after 11 p.m. Chang Yin would arrange for the car to be parked in a grove of trees outside the military base. Tang Yue and Chang Yin would have to climb over the wall to get out of the base so that no one would notice they had gone out.

When Tang Yue returned to the room, Lin Cuicui had already woken up.

"Yueyue's back! What did Commander Kang say?"

Lin Cuicui regretted her question as soon as she asked it. Would her daughter think she only cared about her father and neglected her, her daughter?

Just as Lin Cuicui was about to say something more, Tang Yue explained, "Mom, Commander Kang didn't agree directly; he said he needed to consult with his superiors."

Tang Yue only told her the result; there was no need for her mother to know about the things she said to Commander Kang.

Lin Cuicui still felt guilty. Holding Tang Yue's hand, Lin Cuicui asked with heartache, "Daughter, don't blame your mother. I really had no choice. If anything happened to your father..." Lin Cuicui couldn't finish her sentence; she really didn't dare to think about it.

"It's okay, Mom. I know. I will definitely find Dad."

Lin Cuicui wanted to nod, but was also conflicted. "Maybe, daughter, you shouldn't go. The army has already sent people to look for you, and they might have results in the next couple of days."

Tang Yue could see the struggle in Lin Cuicui's eyes. "Is Mom worried about me?"

Tang Yue asked with a slight smile.

Lin Cuicui pulled Tang Yue into her arms and then choked up. Tang Yue was immediately cornered by Lin Cuicui in the most intimate place, and oh dear, she quickly struggled to move to another position.
