Chapter 186 The Endless Abyss

186

"Um, Company Commander, I feel like I can still see you and Sun Jinan, and I can see them very clearly."

Zhao Fei wanted to say, "Company Commander, your talisman isn't working," but he didn't dare to.

Tang Yue turned her head to look at Zhao Fei, "We're all close together, so we can naturally see each other."

Zhao Fei and Sun Jinan stared wide-eyed at the same time. "Company Commander? You mean to say that others can't see us now?"

Sun Jinan's voice trembled slightly as he spoke. The truck was already moving; otherwise, he would have liked to get off and walk around in front of the other people to see if they could spot him.

Tang Yue didn't answer Sun Jinan's question, but instead mentally reviewed the map from the South Island to the Qinling Mountains.

Yes, up to this point, neither Chang Yin nor Commander Kang had told her exactly where the Qinling Mountains were. They hadn't shown her a map either, and Tang Yue felt they were genuinely afraid she would sneak away on her own.

What they didn't know was that Tang Yue possessed an extraordinary mental power; whatever she wanted to know, the entire Southern Island Legion would have no secrets. It's just that Tang Yue didn't do that.

Chang Yin and Wang Ming were completely bewildered. Invisibility? What on earth is that? Chang Yin had indeed read about these things in some unusual books, but those were all martial arts stories. Chang Yin never thought that such a thing would happen to him.

However, the facts were soon proven true.

Their car could only leave the South Island via freight. When Wang Ming drove to the port, not a single person came to stop their car, or even glanced in their direction.

Wang Ming was also very curious. He really wanted to verify what Company Commander Tang had said, so he didn't slow down and drove straight towards the cargo ship. Chang Yin knew what Wang Ming was thinking and didn't say anything. Sun Jinan and Zhao Fei rode leisurely in the car, showing no sign of worry.

Even after the car had entered the cargo ship's hold, no one checked the vehicle or came to guide them.

Wang Ming's heart was pounding. When he parked the car, he felt numbness in his hands and feet. He raised his hand and fumbled for his buzz cut. "Boss, what's this?"

Chang Yin remained silent, closing his eyes to rest and mask his inner turmoil. His mind replayed every scene he had witnessed with Tang Yue since they first met. He had always known this girl was extraordinary, but he hadn't expected her to be this astounding.

To avoid disturbing others, they didn't get out of the car. When the boat reached the other side, Wang Ming was still driving, and the truck swayed away from the cargo ship. By this time, Wang Ming was much calmer.

"Battalion Commander, let's go this way."

Tang Yue handed over a simplified map with only some simple lines on it.

Chang Yin took the map. He didn't ask Tang Yue how she knew to go to the Qinling Mountains; he felt it was too simple a question to ask her now. Seeing the map in his hand showed the shortest route to the Qinling Mountains, he knew they wouldn't have dared to take it a few hours earlier, as countless people would have been waiting to ambush them along the way.

Chang Yin turned to look at Tang Yue, "Is no one following us?"

Tang Yue's lips curled slightly. She wasn't unaware of Wang Ming's deliberate probing when boarding and disembarking. Since Chang Yin had asked, Tang Yue answered.

Based on my guess, "No."

Chang Yin nodded, "Okay. Sun Jinan, Zhao Fei, you two take turns driving with Wang Ming. Now, take a break."

Sun Jinan and Zhao Fei immediately went to rest. Chang Yin also relaxed. Since no one could see their vehicle, they figured that after they went into the woods and put up the talismans, those people shouldn't have seen them come out.

In that case, no one can keep up with them. This way, they can reach the Qinling Mountains as quickly as possible.

Normally, it would take them ten days to get to the Qinling Mountains by taking a detour, but now that they're taking the shortest route, they should be able to get there in five days if they don't encounter any unexpected problems.

Meanwhile, Tang Shengkai and his companions in the Qinling Mountains were desperately making their way.

The enemy had found their secret base and set up many traps, but there were too many enemies. They were carrying a lot of weapons, and even though Tang Shengkai and his men secretly eliminated a few, there was still a constant stream of enemies coming.

Tang Shengkai really didn't know what was so attractive about the national treasures they brought.

Although Tang Shengkai had reached the first level of Qi Refining, he didn't know many cultivation techniques or methods for utilizing spiritual energy. When he left, his absorption of spiritual energy was still very slow, and he couldn't even reach the threshold of the first level of Qi Refining, so Tang Yue hadn't taught him many things.

Although Tang Shengkai is very skilled now, he should be able to easily eliminate a dozen or so enemies if he were to face them alone. However, he has six teammates with him, people he will be working with for many years to come, and Tang Shengkai dares not reveal this to them.

"Battalion Commander, they're catching up. We must change direction immediately."

Xu Zhenfei's leg only rested for one day, but he felt that it was basically healed. He had no idea why this was, and he vaguely felt that something was wrong, but since it didn't seem to cause any harm, he could only keep it to himself.

But there were too many enemies, and he couldn't hold his brothers back, so he started running. Surprisingly, his stamina seemed about the same as it had been five years ago.

"Then let's switch. Old Tang, you lead the way."

Everyone else was already panting heavily, but Tang Shengkai seemed to have barely exerted himself. Xu Hongchang was secretly astonished; Old Tang's stamina was truly remarkable.

If they kept running through the Qinling Mountains, Tang Shengkai felt he could definitely lead everyone out of the enemy's encirclement. But they didn't have time to rest, and their stamina simply couldn't keep up.

As he ran, Tang Shengkai suddenly braked, cutting off Xu Hongchang and the others.
