A cold voice came from the cellar, "Tang Yue, come down here for a moment."
Tang Yue jumped down directly. Sun Jinan watched Tang Yue's actions and exclaimed in disbelief, "Our company commander is really quite capable."
After Tang Yue went downstairs, she saw Chang Yin digging in the soil with an iron shovel that had been in the cellar. Tang Yue used her senses to probe and indeed discovered something unusual.
She was a little annoyed; how could she have been so careless? But these people really weren't sloppy with their hiding places—money and ammunition were all in one place. It really did feel safe here.
Chang Yin dug a few more times, and an entrance appeared. Chang Yin glanced at Tang Yue, then bent down and went inside first. Tang Yue followed behind.
Seeing the rows of large, golden yellow croakers neatly stacked in the wooden crates, Tang Yue's eyes were practically glued to the sight. And those ten-yuan notes—they were piled up in heaps! However, having seen so many luxuries from the cultivation world, Tang Yue wasn't particularly excited about these things.
Their family has enough money now. Besides, these days you can't let others know you're rich, and with her mother, that miserly mother, around, they really can't spend their money even if they have it.
Chang Yin's expression was truly grim. He turned to look at Tang Yue, "You can take these things with you."
Chang Yin didn't ask a question, and Tang Yue didn't know how to answer when she heard him ask such a profound question in such an ordinary tone.
All she could think was that Chang Yin was truly a good subordinate of Commander Kang, and that Commander Kang really told Chang Yin everything.
But it's not a big deal. "If you trust me, I can help you move it."
Chang Yin nodded, "Then go ahead and pretend."
After saying that, she turned and left. Tang Yue...
This man trusted her so much. Then Tang Yue thought of the weapons outside. She stuck out her tongue; could the battalion commander have already discovered it?
Chang Yin knew the little girl was packing things as soon as he entered the cellar, not for any other reason than the marks on the ground didn't match the quantities used by the enemies outside. However, he knew the little girl wouldn't use these things for anything malicious, so he didn't want to expose her.
If he hadn't sensed something was off about this wall, he wouldn't have exposed Tang Yue's secret.
When Tang Yue came out, Chang Yin was looking at the marks on the ground. Tang Yue had already given up. Anyway, even if Chang Yin told her, she wouldn't admit it.
Chang Yin felt these things weren't easy to take. They still had plenty of supplies in their vehicle, and there was still a lot of cleanup work to do outside. It was best not to show these things. Chang Yin casually pulled out a small pile, pointed to the rest, and gave Tang Yue a look. Then he went out first.
Tang Yue thought Chang Yin's sense of boundaries was very good. He left the cellar before Tang Yue put away most of the items, and then followed Chang Yin out.
Sun Jinan and Wang Ming waited outside. As soon as Tang Yue came out, Wang Ming looked at her with a smile and said, "Company Commander Tang, you saved my life again. I can't thank you enough."
After saying that, he went downstairs with Sun Jinan to move things.
Li Tiezhu came in from outside and reported, "Reporting to the battalion commander, there is no body of Chef Dong inside."
Tang Yue's eyes narrowed slightly upon hearing this. This guy was quite good at hiding his true intentions. Tang Yue had focused her attention outwards; during the battle, she had been constantly aware of the people around her, but she hadn't been paying attention to that old man all the time. That guy was indeed very cunning.
Chang Yin knew that the person was an important clue in Panyun County, and dared not delay. Just as he was about to order someone to go and find him, he heard Tang Yue say, "I know where he is."
Chang Yin turned to look at her.
At this moment, Tang Yue saw Chef Dong with two people. One of them was the arrogant Director Niu, and the other was probably the person who had just fired the shotgun at her.
Clearly, the man didn't have a proper firearm; he was probably a local resident of the county, currently surrendering to Director Niu and Chef Dong. His worn-out hunting rifle, though its age was unknown, was still quite powerful.
The three of them were now fleeing the county town in a disheveled state, heading north. Tang Yue extended her consciousness outward and discovered a large truck covered with straw in a depression ten miles away from the city gate.
These people did it very discreetly, and there must be other people hiding around, otherwise, how could such a big thing be left there without the curiosity of the people?
However, there are many people working in the fields right now, and Tang Yue hasn't seen anyone suspicious yet.
But could she get those people to the car? Of course not.
Tang Yue looked at Chang Yin, wanting to say that she would go by herself, but she could tell from Chang Yin's eyes that he disagreed.
However, there was no time left.
"Battalion Commander, I can save time by going myself. They are fast, and if we delay any longer, they may disappear without a trace."
Chang Yin definitely disagreed. He took a deep breath, handed over the matter to Wang Ming, and looked at Tang Yue, his expression leaving no room for argument, "I'll go with you."
Tang Yue shrugged. If he could keep up, he could just follow along.
Clearly, Chang Yin overestimated his strength. Tang Yue put away her gun, and her legs seemed to be exerting no force, but her figure disappeared in an instant.
Chang Yin simply bent down to load his gun, and when he looked up again, the man was gone. He looked around several times, a look of shock flashing in his eyes. "Where did he go?"
Sun Jinan had been watching his company commander closely. At this moment, his admiration for his company commander was overwhelming, and he was so shocked that he couldn't speak.
Since the battalion commander asked, he couldn't refuse to answer, so he could only point in a direction.
Chang Yin immediately gave chase. The county town wasn't big, and this road led directly out of town. However, Chang Yin ran for five miles without seeing Tang Yue. He began to doubt his route. The little girl was indeed fast, but could she have gone this long without resting?
