Chapter 256 The Doctor is a Spy

256

Tang Yue's lips twitched involuntarily. The two people in the alley saw Sun Jinan rush in and could tell from his figure that he was a soldier.

The two men exchanged a glance. The thug, knife in hand, retreated towards Sun Jinan, saying, "Hey kid, don't meddle in my business."

Sun Jinan ignored the thug and kicked him. The thug, seemingly realizing he was outmatched, turned and ran. Sun Jinan took a large stride to give chase. The pregnant woman leaning against the wall cried out desperately, "Please, please save me!"

Sun Jinan stopped in his tracks. He turned around and looked at the pregnant woman whose lower body was already soaked. Watching the thugs leave, Sun Jinan gritted his teeth, bent down, and picked up the pregnant woman in a princess carry, rushing out of the alley.

He ran while shouting, "Get out of the way!"

Everyone quickly made way for Sun Jinan, who carried the pregnant woman and rushed towards the nearest hospital. Tang Yue shook her head, used her spiritual power to mark all the spies present, and then slowly followed behind Sun Jinan.

Tang Yue felt that the commotion these spies were making was a bit too much. It was just a message; why sacrifice a pregnant woman? She had clearly seen that the thug showed no sign of leaving; it seemed someone hadn't made contact yet? Had Sun Jinan's appearance disrupted their plans?

But when they made their plan, shouldn't they have considered that no one would dare to stand up for what's right under the nose of the capital? Tang Yue's eyes suddenly widened. Did they have another plan?

As Tang Yue walked, she used her consciousness to check on the spies who had just performed for free. She saw that they had moved to a secluded spot, changed their clothes, and then led the crowd away, without heading towards the pregnant woman again.

Tang Yue didn't know their specific plan, so for now she could only follow Sun Jinan. After all, he was trying to rescue a spy, and things could easily go wrong, so she had to keep an eye on him.

As her consciousness returned, she saw Chang Yin emerge from an alley. Tang Yue felt it was better for Chang Yin to know about this.

She let the pin go over and used her spiritual power to guide Chang Yin over.

Chang Yin was inspecting the area near the former stronghold of the spies, wondering why there was no trace of it. These places seemed to have been forgotten.

Chang Yin, skeptical of superstition, had been wandering around the area near the outpost the spies had given him for several days. But he hadn't found anything. Just as he was wondering what was going on, he suddenly sensed fluctuations of spiritual energy around him.

Chang Yin's gaze deepened slightly. He had never encountered such a situation before. What was going on? Could there be other cultivators in the capital? Chang Yin decided to go and investigate. Guided by an intuition, Chang Yin followed the spiritual energy forward.

Sun Jinan rushed into the nearest hospital. "Doctor, hurry, someone is about to give birth."

The pregnant woman had been screaming the whole way, seemingly unable to hold on any longer. Her forehead was covered in sweat, and her face was as pale as paper. She was indeed about to give birth.

Several doctors rushed out of the hospital and hurriedly carried the pregnant woman into a delivery room. Sun Jinan stood at the door of the delivery room, hands on his hips, panting heavily, no longer caring about the bloodstains on his clothes.

Guided by his spiritual power, Chang Yin arrived at the hospital entrance and saw the little girl leaning against the wall with a look of interest on her face. In an instant, Chang Yin understood how she had gotten there.

"What happened?"

Tang Yue looked up at Chang Yin and said, "Hehe, Battalion Commander, Sun Jinan rescued a spy!"

Chang Yin looked down at the gloating little girl. She already knew that the man was a spy, so why did Sun Jinan still save him?

How did you two run into each other?

"No, he hasn't seen me yet."

Chang Yin... Clearly, Sun Jinan was outmaneuvered.

Chang Yin's face darkened. These spies were too arrogant. They knew Sun Jinan was a soldier, yet they still dared to plot against him. He was about to step inside.

Tang Yue grabbed him and then told the battalion commander what had happened in the alley. "Gutang Old Port, Battalion Commander, where is that?"

Chang Yin frowned. "Gutang Old Port?"

Tang Yue nodded quickly, and Chang Yin seemed to understand what was going on. "There's no rush. What's the situation at the hospital right now?"

Tang Yue looked inside and her expression changed instantly. Without bothering to talk to Chang Yin, she rushed into the hospital and went straight to the second floor.

Sun Jinan was pacing back and forth outside the delivery room when a doctor rushed out anxiously with a notebook in hand. "The pregnant woman's water has broken. Where are her family members? Are you her husband?"

As she spoke, she rushed towards Sun Jinan. Sun Jinan wasn't that nervous at the moment, after all, this was a hospital, and he relaxed his guard. When he saw the female doctor rushing towards him, he quickly took two steps back.

"No, doctor, I'm not. She is..."

Before Sun Jinan could finish speaking, the female doctor pulled a gun from her bosom and fired directly at him.

"Holy crap!" Sun Jinan exclaimed in shock, quickly looking for a place to hide. But the hospital corridor was very spacious, with nowhere to take cover.

When Tang Yue saw it, the female doctor was just about to fire at Sun Jinan. Missing her first shot, the doctor fired a second. Sun Jinan was seen jumping up and down the stairwell.

Tang Yue rushed from the stairwell, almost instantly reaching the female doctor. She leaped slightly and snatched the gun from the doctor's hand. With a swift chop, she knocked the doctor unconscious.

Sun Jinan gritted his teeth, "Bah, what a thing, daring to ambush me." As he spoke, he went over and dislocated the female doctor's hands.
