Taking advantage of the chaos, Tang Yue used her invisibility spell and boarded the Japanese train without anyone noticing.
As soon as Tang Yue boarded the train, she was captivated by the scene inside the carriage. In stark contrast to the simple and practical style of Chinese trains, the carriages of ordinary Japanese trains in the 1960s, though lacking luxurious crystal chandeliers, were brightly lit by the even and soft light from the overhead incandescent bulbs.
The walls of the carriage are covered with wallpaper featuring simple geometric patterns in elegant colors, giving it a simple yet stylish feel.
The floor was covered with a dark gray linen carpet. Although it wasn't particularly thick, it felt slightly soft underfoot, and the sound of footsteps was well absorbed, making the carriage relatively quiet.
The seats are made of dark brown artificial leather, which looks a bit old, but is well-maintained with no obvious damage. The seating space is fairly spacious, allowing people to sit comfortably. Each seat is equipped with a backrest that can be adjusted to a simple angle, although the adjustment range is not large.
On one side of the seat, there was a narrow wooden table. Although it was simple in style, the surface was wiped very clean. On it were a simple ceramic teacup and a newspaper from that day.
Tang Yue found a seat by the window and sat down, her gaze fixed on the slowly receding platform through the slightly worn but meticulously clean train window. She was eagerly anticipating that the police officers at Luxi Bay would find the suspect. For her, the more chaotic Japan was, the better.
What she failed to notice was that the Nakajima incident, which involved a short-lived character, had already attracted the attention of various countries. The news quickly reached China as well.
Chang Yin and his group arrived in Weicheng and received the message from Tang Yue from Battalion Commander Chen Qiao. Because this matter was communicated between the division commanders of both sides, they also learned the contents of the message.
Chang Yin was to take the message back to the South Island, after which Commander Kang would decide how to proceed with the mission. However, Chang Yin had just finished handing over the data to Battalion Commander Chen when Commander Kuang Yingjun summoned the two of them to his office.
"Reporting, greetings, Commander Kuang!"
"Haha, Battalion Commander Chang, well done. Please have a seat."
Chang Yin nodded and sat down properly. Commander Kuang's face was beaming with joy, and Chang Yin sensed that something good had happened. However, he wasn't familiar with Commander Kuang and didn't ask.
Chen Qiao couldn't help but ask, "Commander, what good news has happened?"
Commander Kuang pointed at Chen Qiao, "You kid, you have good eyesight. We just received news that a Japanese cruise ship docked at Nakajima Port yesterday, but it turned out to be full of dead people."
Chen Qiao's eyes widened. "What happened? The ship docked by itself without anyone being there? Commander, that's too far-fetched. Impossible."
Chen Qiao waved his hand as he expressed his opinion. Commander Kuang also found it unbelievable, but due to the distance, they didn't know the specifics. However, the fact that this matter was known to all countries was unmistakable.
"We don't know exactly what happened on the ship yet. Even the Japanese themselves haven't figured it out. But that's not the point." Commander Kuang continued, seeing the two men staring intently at him.
"I heard that the stench emanating from the ship is toxic, and the initial suspicion is that it is germs. Anyone who smells this odor will immediately develop symptoms. There have already been deaths."
"Martial law has been declared in Duanqi."
Chang Yin understood what was going on after hearing Commander Kuang's words. He didn't show it on his face, but he felt a little proud inside. That little girl really is something; she never misses an opportunity to cause trouble, no matter where she goes. It was obvious without even thinking that she was behind this.
No one but her could get such a large cruise ship to dock on its own. But the germs on board? It seems there's still a lot they don't know.
"Battalion Commander Chang, what do you think?"
Chen Qiao looked at Chang Yin and asked, he really wanted to learn from Chang Yin. This guy was the number one in the national competition every year. Moreover, he was no different from a battle maniac. He was brave in battle, and although they were not in the same military region, they had heard of Chang Yin's name.
"There is no other information at the moment, so it's hard to judge. However, that cruise ship should belong to Japan, and they'll have to bear the loss themselves."
Division Commander Kuang laughed heartily, "Battalion Commander Chang, you're absolutely right. I don't know why, but they haven't explained this matter to the international community. I think it must be because they were doing something bad in secret, and as a result, they were backfired on by their own people."
Chang Yin simply nodded. Chen Qiao raised a question, "Commander, didn't a cruise ship from Japan come to our area a few days ago? Do you think it could be that ship? However, that doesn't make much sense. Judging from the speed of that cruise ship, it should have arrived in Japan several days ago."
"Commander, do you think it's possible?"
Commander Kuang hadn't really thought of that; he'd shared the news with them so eagerly as soon as he received it. Now, thinking about it more carefully, it wasn't impossible. Thinking about it this way, Commander Kuang couldn't help but get goosebumps all over.
He quickly looked up at Chang Yin, "Battalion Commander Chang, are your soldiers... still on that ship? If so?"
Chang Yin knew what Commander Kuang was worried about, and he didn't hesitate at all. "Commander Kuang, I believe my soldiers are fine. Even if this ship really is that one, she will definitely be alright."
With a "smack," Chen Qiao couldn't help but excitedly slap his thigh. "Hey, Commander, this seems to make sense! I've seen that Company Commander Tang with my own eyes. I think, maybe, it really is related to Company Commander Tang."
Look, she managed to gather so much information in such a short time; maybe those people on the ship...
