Chapter 293 Underground Corpse Room

Beside the body was a pool of dried blood, its color dark, as if telling the story of the past tragedy.

Not far away, a female corpse sat half-sitting against the wall, her hair disheveled and falling across her face, obscuring most of it. Her body was covered in wounds, her clothes torn to shreds, revealing large patches of bruised skin.

There was a long wound on her abdomen, and her internal organs were almost spilling out; the scene was gruesome. Tang Yue walked closer and saw that the female corpse was still tightly clutching a tattered piece of cloth in her hand, which was perhaps her last struggle and resistance before death.

In the middle of the abandoned morgue, several piles of corpses were stacked on top of each other, forming a "mountain of corpses." These corpses were pressed together, some with heads buried underneath, and others with arms sticking out, creating an extremely gruesome scene.

Looking at the "mountain of corpses," Tang Yue felt an overwhelming rage burning within her. Never before had she hated the Japanese so much. Her hands clenched into fists, her nails digging deep into her palms, blood seeping from between her fingers.

Besides the mountains of corpses, the morgue was also littered with tattered clothes, tools, and daily necessities, which silently told the tragic story of the victims' lives.

In another corner, Tang Yue found a tattered cotton-padded coat, covered in patches and stained with blood. She gently picked it up and examined it closely, discovering a small "Li" character embroidered on the collar.

Tang Yue's heart tightened. She seemed to see a person wearing this cotton-padded coat being forcibly abducted by the Miyazaki family in the cold winter and ultimately dying tragically here.

Scattered on the ground were tools such as hoes, shovels, and hammers. The surfaces of these tools were rusty, and some still bore traces of dried blood.

Tang Yue picked up a hoe. On the wooden handle of the hoe were a few blurry characters: "Xuan Village, China".

Seeing these words, Tang Yue felt a pang of pain in her heart. She knew that the owners of these tools were once ordinary people in China. They were captured by the Miyazaki family and forced to work in this underground metallurgical plant, where they eventually lost their lives.

On the wall, Tang Yue also found some blurry writing, which looked like it had been carved with a fingernail.

She leaned closer and saw that it read: "I want to go home."

"Save us."

"May the Miyazaki family die a horrible death." These words, though crooked and illegible, are filled with despair and anger.

Tang Yue's eyes welled up with tears. She could feel the victims' longing for home and their yearning for freedom in the final moments of their lives.
