After entering the hospital and going up to the second floor, I heard a commotion coming from upstairs, including the crying of several women and the angry shouts of men.
Tang Yue heard the woman upstairs crying and shouting, "Didn't everyone say that you, surnamed Li, are the best doctor in this hospital? How come you're so bad? You can't even cure a broken leg. You're a piece of trash."
Tang Yue's face turned cold. There are always such oddballs in every era. When something happens, they never look for their own problems, but instead vent their anger on others.
Tang Yue was short, and almost no one noticed her when she stood outside the crowd.
After listening to a few snippets, she already knew the gist of what had happened.
The hospital corridor reeked of disinfectant, and shadowy figures moved about under the white lights. Li Mingxuan had just entered his office to change when a series of hurried footsteps in the corridor broke the morning's tranquility.
A middle-aged man, pale-faced and covered in sweat, was helping a young man with a richly dressed woman. The young man had a bloodstained strip of cloth wrapped around his right leg, clearly indicating that he had suffered a serious injury.
A large group of people followed behind him, each with an anxious expression on their face.
"Doctor, doctor! Please save my son!" The middle-aged man's voice was filled with anxiety and panic.
Li Mingxuan strode out of the office, his eyes quickly scanning the young man's injuries, and he had already made a judgment. His voice was calm and powerful: "Quickly, get him to the operating room."
The operating room lights came on, and Li Mingxuan and several other doctors began the tense surgery on the young man. Time ticked by, and outside the operating room, a middle-aged man paced back and forth, his face filled with unease.
The others were also restless; they clearly knew how serious the patient's injuries were. Several women tried to hold back their sobs, but suppressed cries could still be heard.
Several hours later, the operating room door finally opened. Li Mingxuan emerged, his face showing a hint of exhaustion and regret: "I'm sorry, we did our best, but..."
Before he could finish speaking, he was interrupted by the middle-aged man's angry roar: "What?! What did you say?! My son's leg is broken like that?! What kind of doctor are you?!"
The middle-aged man instantly lost control of his emotions. He rushed towards Li Mingxuan, grabbing his collar tightly with both hands: "You pay for my son's leg! You pay!"
Dr. Li Mingxuan's expression darkened, but his voice remained calm: "I've already said we've done our best. Your son's injuries are too severe; we cannot..."
"I don't care! I don't care! If you don't give me an explanation today, I'm not done with you!" The middle-aged man's voice grew louder and louder, and his behavior became increasingly agitated.
A woman dressed in fine clothes rushed up, "What? You can't cure my son? How can that be? Aren't you supposed to be the best doctor in this hospital?"
"Heal him now! Heal him, or he's not allowed to leave."
She appeared frantic, almost insane.
The surrounding patients and their families began to gather around, and some people who were unaware of the facts started to gossip, and the scene gradually became chaotic.
"How can this doctor be like this? He can't even reattach a leg."
"Yes, I've heard that the doctors at this hospital aren't very good."
"I think we should go to another hospital. Let's not waste our time here."
Dr. Li Mingxuan frowned. He knew that such a disturbance at a hospital would severely damage the hospital's reputation and his own career. He took a deep breath, trying to calm the situation: "Please calm down and listen to us..."
However, the middle-aged man had completely lost control of his emotions. He began shoving Dr. Li Mingxuan and even started smashing things. The woman also began pulling at Li Mingxuan.
The people who had followed swarmed around him, eager to attack Li Mingxuan, completely ignoring the patient who had just been wheeled out.
Just then, a clear and sweet voice rang out: "What are you doing?"
