As the sun set, its last rays fell upon the rocky beach, and Dongshan-jun's figure appeared exceptionally lonely in the afterglow, as if he did not belong to this world.
The pork leg on the barbecue grill was already golden brown, its fat dripping onto the fire with a sizzling sound, filling the air with a fragrant aroma. Tang Yue approached silently, her footsteps as light as a cat's, without disturbing anyone.
A smug smile spread across Dongshan Jun's face. He savored this moment of tranquility, as if this desolate, rocky beach had become his own personal domain. He even began to fantasize about how he would enjoy the glory that belonged to warriors after the mission was completed.
However, he didn't notice that a small figure was already standing behind him. Tang Yue's gaze was as cold as a knife; her hand gripped the pistol tightly, her fingertips turning slightly white from the force. She knew that this man, like the spies who constantly harassed her family, was an enemy.
Dongshan Jun seemed to sense something. He suddenly turned around, the dagger in his hand flashing coldly, aimed directly at Tang Yue's throat. However, his movements were swift, but he misjudged Tang Yue's height. The dagger simply slashed past above Tang Yue's head.
Dongshan Jun moved quickly. Just as he was about to bend down to continue after his first attack failed, Tang Yue was not slow either. Her pistol was already pressed against Dongshan Jun's forehead.
"Don't move." Tang Yue's voice was icy cold, devoid of any emotion. This was Tang Yue's own perception, but her cool yet soft voice sounded like a curse to Dongshan Jun's ears.
Dongshan-jun's pupils contracted sharply, and an unprecedented fear surged in his heart. He had never expected that this seemingly frail little girl would possess such a fierce killing intent.
"Who are you?" Dongshan-kun's voice trembled slightly.
Tang Yue didn't answer, a hint of murderous intent flashing in her eyes. She didn't need to answer, because she knew that this man would soon be a thing of the past.
"Wait!" Dongshan-kun's voice was urgent. "I can give you a lot of money, as long as you let me go. After all, we don't have any grudges against each other, do we?"
Tang Yue sneered. So this spy could speak Chinese too, but that didn't matter anymore. She could clearly sense that these spies were much more skilled than the previous ones.
Her finger slowly pulled the trigger: "You spies, do you think money can buy everything?"
"No, no, you don't understand." A hint of despair lingered in Dongshan-jun's voice. "I can tell you many secrets, about you..."
Before he could finish speaking, Tang Yue had already pulled the trigger. A gunshot shattered the silence of the night. Dongshan Jun's body went limp, his eyes wide open, as if he couldn't believe he was dead.
Tang Yue didn't glance at his corpse again; she knew two more spies were waiting for her down there. Her figure vanished into the night once more, like a ghost.
At the bottom of the cliff, Oda and Tano exchanged a glance; they could both hear the gunshot. A sense of foreboding washed over them as well.
"Higashiyama-kun!" Oda-kun's voice carried a hint of anxiety.
There was no answer, only the sound of the night wind howling.
“Let’s go up.” Tianye’s voice was calm and firm.
Oda thought that if they went up now, they might be shot on the cliff. But the enemy was right there on the cliff, and if they didn't take her out, they wouldn't be able to get out of there.
Especially since the Chinese people are very united, if they were trapped here, the Chinese army would arrive quickly. At that point, they would be truly finished. Now, there is still a chance to fight back.
Not to mention the wolves that were about to arrive. If they didn't leave, they would be attacked from both sides.
The two men swiftly climbed the cliff, their movements swift and agile, their actions unpredictable, never pausing for more than a second at any given point. Clearly, they were highly trained spies.
However, they had encountered no ordinary soldiers. Tang Yue lay prone on the cliff top, her senses scanning the two agents. She noticed that one of them was exceptionally agile; perhaps the agent had already dodged when she fired her shot.
Tang Yue pointed her gun at Oda-kun and, after anticipating his several stops, fired just as he was about to land at the next spot. Oda-kun had no time to dodge; the bullet entered through his left temple and exited from his right, sending him plummeting down the ravine in a spread-eagle position.
The wolf pack had arrived at the bottom of the ravine. They were very happy lately, as the two-legged creatures would often feed them. Nothing had made the wolves happier this winter.
Tang Yue wasn't too happy about killing one of them, because she noticed that the man named Tian Yejun had quickly distanced himself from her after hearing the gunshot.
Although Tang Yue didn't know the gun's exact range, judging from Tian Yejun's movements and speed, she knew that she couldn't kill him with a single shot from this position.
Just as Tang Yue was observing the terrain, Tianye-kun had already quickly climbed up.
However, when he arrived at the rocky beach, he only saw the corpse of Dongshan Jun.
"Higashiyama-kun!" Tano-kun's voice was low and tinged with sorrow.
His face was grim, and his eyes scanned the surroundings, trying to find the trace of the person who killed Higashiyama-kun and had just killed Oda-kun.
He was determined to avenge the two men, after all, Higashiyama-kun and Oda-kun were not ordinary people, and their deaths had become a burden to him. Even if this mission succeeded, he would still need to undergo a long period of investigation.
Tano-kun was furious.
"Come out!" His voice was deep and threatening.
Despite his anger, he remained vigilant, fearing he might inadvertently fall victim to an assassin.
