As night fell, Tang Yue moved swiftly along the mountain path, her emotions a mix of feelings. Although tonight's mission was to protect her family, a heavy weight still weighed on her heart.
Tang Yue had no idea who the spy her father had killed was, or why he wielded such influence that spies would risk their lives to come and retaliate wave after wave. This was clearly beyond Tang Yue's expectations.
She thought that the deaths of more than 20 spies in one fell swoop last time would definitely put some pressure on those lowly people, at least preventing them from making any moves in the near future. But she didn't expect them to arrive so quickly.
In fact, Tang Yue didn't know that the spies she killed were actually a group of people, but they had split up to carry out different missions. However, those in Qiligou never returned.
The reason there were more than 20 people last time was because of that black box. After all, most of the expenses were in that black box, which is why they came looking for us in time.
Her steps were light, but her mind was preoccupied with other things. She didn't know how the villagers would react to the arrival of the spies, nor did she know if it would put even more pressure on her father.
When she returned home, the lights were already on. Lin Cuicui and Tang Shengkai were not there. The three Tang brothers were sitting on the kang (a heated brick bed) with their brows furrowed, seemingly deep in thought.
Hearing footsteps, the three brothers turned around at the same time. When they saw Tang Yue, their eyes lit up. "Little sister!"

"Little sister, you're back."
Tang Yue listened to the sounds inside the house and realized that Tang Shengkai and the others must have gone up the mountain.
Tang Yue sighed; her parents were still too worried about her.
"Did Mom and Dad go out?"
"Hmm, little sister, are you alright?"
Tang Bei asked with concern, and Tang Yue shook her head, "Big brother, I'm fine."
"What happened on the mountain just now? Mom and Dad dropped what they were doing and ran away as soon as they heard the gunshots. Sister, did you run into spies again?"
"Those damn spies, they're so annoying!"
Tang Nan's machine-gun-like words instantly dispelled the gloom in Tang Yue's heart. Tang Yue listened to Tang Nan's complaints with a smile, feeling that this was life.
"Yes, Second Brother, when I went up the mountain, those spies were looking at the bones of other spies in the ravine. I found out and didn't let them leave alive."
"Yes, sister, you did the right thing. Their survival is the biggest threat to us. Sister, are you alright?"
Tang Dong's eyes never left Tang Yue's face, his expression filled with deep worry.
"Yes, Third Brother, I'm fine. Don't worry, Eldest Brother, Second Brother, and Third Brother."
"Little sister, my eldest brother, second brother, and I will definitely cultivate diligently and learn it as soon as possible."
"Okay, Third Brother, I believe in you all, you are all the best."
As the group chatted, the sound of hurried footsteps came from outside the courtyard.
The children quickly got off the ground, and Lin Cuicui rushed into the house first.
"Yueyue, you're back? Are you alright? Are you hurt anywhere?" Lin Cuicui asked with concern, pulling Tang Yue into her arms.
“As soon as the gunshots rang out on the mountain, your dad and I knew something bad had happened again. We rushed up the mountain and saw the bodies of several spies, but we didn’t see you. Your dad was so worried. He was so weak he could barely walk.”
Tang Shengkai then entered the house and saw that Tang Yue had returned safely. A relieved smile appeared on his face: "Yueyue, it's good that you're alright."
As soon as Tang Shengkai finished speaking, he collapsed to the ground.

Tang Yue quickly broke free from Lin Cuicui's embrace, squatted down, and checked Tang Shengkai's pulse. After a few breaths, she said, "It's nothing, Mom. Dad was just too worried, and he's too weak, so he's a bit exhausted."
As Tang Yue spoke, she had already infused some of her spiritual energy into Tang Shengkai. Tang Shengkai hadn't actually fainted, but as soon as Tang Yue's spiritual energy entered his body, the confusion he had been having for the past few days about how to guide qi into his body was suddenly resolved.
A big smile spread across Tang Shengkai's face.
Tang Yue's big eyes widened in surprise. She saw that her father seemed to be able to absorb spiritual energy. Before she could express her surprise, there was a rapid knocking on the door.
Tang Shengkai stopped absorbing spiritual energy, got up and went to open the door. He saw several villagers standing outside the door, their faces filled with anxiety and fear.
Just as the gunshot rang out on the mountain, the captain heard it and immediately led some villagers up the mountain. They met Tang Shengkai on the rocky beach.
They didn't see the more than 20 spy corpses last time, but this time many people saw the bloody scene clearly, and they truly realized how terrifying spies are.
"Shengkai, have you heard? More spies' bodies have been found on the mountain, this time three!" A villager's voice trembled slightly.
He didn't go up the mountain, but he heard about it from the people who did.
Tang Shengkai's expression was grave. He knew this meant the villagers would perceive his family as posing a greater threat to the village. Perhaps this was a good thing.
“Shengkai, you’d better leave quickly.” Another villager’s voice was pleading. “We don’t want the village to suffer because of your family. If you accidentally go to the wrong house one night, we’ll all be dead.”
Tang Shengkai fell silent. He knew the villagers' concerns were valid, but during the day they had said he didn't engage in any productive work. Human hearts are truly fickle.
Without further hesitation, he said, "No need to rush, everyone. We'll pack our things and leave in the next couple of days."
The brigade leader and several villagers rushed over. "What are you all doing? Tang Shengkai is from Qiligou. What right do you have to kick him out?"
