Chapter 447 The Drenched Protector

The riverbank was shrouded in mist, the air was damp, and the sky was overcast. Sun Jinan and Zhang Dabing, dressed in brightly colored clothes, stood out conspicuously in the hazy morning light.

The two stood side by side, their postures as upright as pine trees. Their eyes kept glancing in the direction Tang Yue would come from. Although they were not anxious, they seemed a little nervous.

"The company commander said he'd be here early this morning, why hasn't he arrived yet? Could it be..." Zhang Dabing lowered his voice, a hint of worry barely perceptible in his tone. He rubbed his arms, the floral fabric of his clothes rustling with the movement.

Sun Jinan's expression remained unchanged. "Don't scare yourself. Don't you know how skilled the company commander is? He'll definitely be fine. It's just that our outfits..." He looked down at his red and green clothes, a hint of disdain flashing in his eyes, but he still maintained his upright posture.

Just as the two were chatting quietly, a series of noisy footsteps approached from afar. Looking up, they saw a group of people from the Bianyue Kingdom walking briskly towards them.

The leader was a good-looking, strong young man. Upon seeing the two, his face lit up with a warm smile, and he waved to Sun Jinan and Zhang Dabing from afar. When the group approached the two, they immediately bowed respectfully, speaking in a rapid-fire Vietnamese language with expressive and devout expressions.

Sun Jinan and Zhang Dabing remained expressionless with cold eyes. No matter how much they were thinking, they didn't show it on their faces. Even though they couldn't understand a word, they still nodded slightly in acknowledgment.

The people of Bianyue remained enthusiastic. One of them hurriedly took out two straw hats from behind his back and respectfully handed them to the two men, saying something to them and gesturing for them to wear them to protect themselves from the rain.

Sun Jinan and Zhang Dabing exchanged a glance, both with indifferent expressions, and slowly shook their heads in refusal. They maintained their aloof demeanor, as if the rain could not affect them in the slightest.

Upon seeing this, the people of Bianyue became even more respectful to the two men, repeatedly gesturing to invite them into the city.

It seemed these people were arranged by the company commander. Understanding this, the two men stood tall and followed the group of people from the border region towards the county town, their steps steady and powerful.

Halfway there, the sky grew even darker, and large raindrops began to pelt down. The rain intensified, and the Vietnamese people cried out in alarm, quickening their pace.

Sun Jinan and Zhang Dabing walked unhurriedly, letting the rain soak their brightly colored clothes. Rainwater slid down their hair and hems, but they remained unfazed, their eyes cold and stern, like two unyielding statues.

Just kidding, they've seen all kinds of weather during training, this little bit of trouble isn't a problem for them. But seriously, without straw hats, wouldn't it be a bit much if they came to see the company commander soaked to the bone?
