Chapter 458 Bloodbath in the Dark

458

Tang Shengkai reacted extremely quickly, turning his head to one side as the fist grazed his cheek, leaving a slightly burning sensation.

However, the man's attacks were relentless and fierce, with a side kick following closely behind, the sturdy leather boot aimed straight for Tang Shengkai's ribs.

Tang Shengkai quickly leaned back, crossing his arms to block. With a muffled thud, the kick landed heavily on his arm, and a sharp pain spread instantly, but at least he managed to deflect the fierce blow.

The man missed his attack, a flash of anger crossing his eyes. He turned and drew a gleaming blade with lightning speed in his right hand. The blade traced a cold arc in the dim light, flying towards Tang Shengkai's throat.

Tang Shengkai's pupils contracted sharply, and his body leaned back rapidly, almost parallel to the ground. The blade grazed his throat, catching a strand of hair in its wake. It was a close call.

Knowing he could no longer afford to be passively attacked, Tang Shengkai seized an opening in the man's attack and suddenly lunged forward, aiming directly at the man's right hand holding the knife. The man's wrist twisted nimbly, and the blade slashed towards Tang Shengkai's arm. Tang Shengkai quickly pulled his arm back, simultaneously bending his leg and raising it to deliver a side kick to the man's knee.

The man dodged to the side, clenched his left fist, and aimed straight for Tang Shengkai's temple. Tang Shengkai lowered his head, skillfully avoiding the attack, and then used the momentum of his forward lean to slam his shoulder into the man's chest.

The immense impact sent the man staggering back several steps, crashing into the corridor wall. But he quickly regained his balance, brandishing his blade, the cold light weaving a net in the air as he pressed forward relentlessly.

While nimbly dodging, Tang Shengkai looked for an opportunity to counterattack. His eyes were sharp, and he suddenly noticed that when the man swung his knife repeatedly, he was too forceful, his steps were unsteady, his center of gravity shifted, and his lower body in defense was briefly exposed.

Seizing this fleeting opportunity, Tang Shengkai disregarded the threat of the blade, rushed forward, lowered his body, and struck the man's knife-wielding arm with his elbow like an iron hammer.

With a "crack," a sharp sound came from the man's arm as if bones had dislocated, and the blade almost slipped from his grasp, tracing an arc in the air. Tang Shengkai pressed his advantage, delivering a sweeping whip kick that struck the man heavily in the waist. The man groaned and staggered backward.

Enraged, the man, like a wild beast, swung his blade wildly, his attacks becoming increasingly vicious. Tang Shengkai suffered multiple cuts, his clothes stained with blood, but he fought with ever greater ferocity, his eyes burning with indomitable fighting spirit. The battalion commander was still inside; he would never back down now.

He seized the moment when the man swung his knife again, suddenly changed direction, rushed forward at lightning speed, grabbed the man's wrists with both hands, and threw him heavily to the ground with an over-the-shoulder throw.

However, the man was no ordinary person. The moment he fell to the ground, he raised his knee and slammed it into Tang Shengkai's abdomen. Tang Shengkai groaned from the sudden blow and curled up in pain.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, the man rolled over and grabbed Tang Shengkai by the neck with both hands. Tang Shengkai had difficulty breathing and his vision began to blur, but with his indomitable will, he struck the man's groin with his knee. The man released his grip in pain, and Tang Shengkai, panting heavily, quickly created distance.

But the man slid another blade from his sleeve and lunged again. Tang Shengkai, whose neck had just been choked, had a momentary pause in his breathing and was a beat too slow to dodge, when the blade pierced his shoulder.

Tang Shengkai knelt on one knee, blood gushing from the wound on his shoulder, staining the ground a large dark red. He gritted his teeth, his eyes showing exhaustion, yet he still stared intently at the blond man in front of him, his hands still in a defensive stance.

The blond man was panting heavily, a cruel smile on his lips, and the razor blade in his hand was dripping blood, gleaming eerily in the dim light.

He approached step by step, like a predatory beast, leisurely enjoying the torment of its prey. "Yellow race, is this all you've got?" he said slowly in English, his voice full of disdain.

Tang Shengkai didn't respond, his mind racing, searching for the last glimmer of hope. When the blond man swung his knife at him again, he suddenly rolled to the side, dodging the fatal blow, and then kicked the man's ankle.

The blond man staggered for a moment, but quickly regained his balance. His anger intensified, and he wildly swung the blade in Tang Shengkai's direction.

While dodging, Tang Shengkai seized an opportunity and charged at the man, attempting to tackle him. However, the blond man was prepared; with a nimble turn, the blade in his hand slashed a long gash down Tang Shengkai's abdomen.

Tang Shengkai felt a piercing pain, and warm blood gushed out instantly, soaking his clothes. He could no longer hold on and collapsed heavily to the ground, his consciousness beginning to fade.

The blond man looked at Tang Shengkai lying on the ground, a murderous glint in his eyes. He raised his blade, ready to deliver the final blow. Just then, hurried footsteps sounded outside, and several American soldiers rushed in. "Stop! What's going on?" the lead soldier shouted.

A flicker of panic crossed the blond man's eyes. He glanced at Tang Shengkai with resentment, quickly tucked the razor blade into his sleeve, and turned to run outside. Several American soldiers saw this and immediately gave chase, shouting, "Stop! Don't run!"

A moment later, an American soldier returned. He knelt down, looked at the barely breathing Tang Shengkai, and helped him up. "Are you alright? What happened?" he asked in English, reaching out to check Tang Shengkai's breath.

Tang Shengkai was already somewhat disoriented, but when he saw the American soldiers and remembered that Chang Yin was still inside, how could he collapse like this? What if the battalion commander was discovered?

Suddenly, he seemed to understand something. Why did that blond, blind guy attack him as soon as he saw him, without giving him a chance to speak? And why did he run away as soon as he saw these American soldiers?
