Chapter 493 Attack on the Underground Control Room

493

The young men of Bianyue fought with increasing ferocity, dividing into small groups and attacking various American strongholds. In front of a warehouse, a dozen or so young men surrounded the American soldiers who were stubbornly resisting inside.

They threw in homemade bombs, and after the explosions, they rushed in and engaged the remaining American soldiers in hand-to-hand combat. Fists, daggers, clubs—they used every weapon at their disposal. Amidst the splattering blood, American soldiers fell one by one.

The battle raged on, and the entire Base 5 was engulfed in flames and bloodshed. The people of Bianyue launched their fiercest resistance against the invaders with their own flesh and blood, driven by a single belief: to annihilate the American troops and reclaim their homeland.

From the fuel explosion at Base 5 to the complete capture of the US military's Base 5, only four and a half hours elapsed. The able-bodied, elderly, women, and children of the border region played a crucial role.

Knowing that U.S. Army Base 5 had exploded, the able-bodied men were filled with enthusiasm, and the entire column moved much faster. The elderly, women, and children at the back didn't look like they couldn't go to the battlefield at all. Everyone was as energetic as if they'd been injected with adrenaline.

Of course, without the command of the goddess and the Chinese soldiers, the Bianyue troops fought without any strategy. The entire US base at Base 5 had nearly 100,000 troops, but in the end, it was not only the momentum of the Bianyue youths that defeated them.

Furthermore, when all the American soldiers ran out of bullets and bombs, the American soldiers responsible for resupply returned from the armory and poured cold water on the angry American soldiers with a few loud shouts.

"Stop charging! We're out of bullets!"

"My God, the arsenal is empty. This war is unwinnable! God is not on our side at all."

With each feeble cry, the American soldiers, who were being commanded by their angry commander, deflated like punctured balloons; they simply didn't believe what those men were saying.

However, their guns were indeed out of bullets, while the able-bodied men of Bianyue continued to throw smoke grenades of various colors at them. Finally, they helplessly threw their guns to the ground and squatted down.

The people of Bianyue, initially disbelieving, gradually grew excited at the sight. They jumped and danced with joy. However, they couldn't find their way forward.

Where is the goddess? She was just helping them a moment ago. But where has she gone now?

Rewind to an hour earlier, and Base 5 was engulfed in flames, with explosions and shouts of battle creating a hellish scene.

Chang Yin and Tang Shengkai darted and weaved through the ruins, finally managing to leap onto a crumbling rooftop. They hoped to observe the hidden American officers from above. The tiles beneath their feet creaked under the weight, each step feeling like a plunge into flames.

Just then, they saw Tang Yue. She stood on the other side of the roof, her posture as upright as a pine tree, her hands moving swiftly as she accurately threw strings of bombs at the charging young men of the Bianyue Kingdom below.

Upon receiving the bombs, the young men's eyes blazed with even fiercer fighting spirit as they charged towards the American troops, shouting as they did so. The firelight illuminated Tang Yue's face, outlining her resolute features.

Tang Shengkai's eyes lit up, and he was about to call out to her, raising his foot to meet her. Chang Yin, however, grabbed his arm and looked around warily—the surroundings were filled with smoke, and he didn't know how many enemies were hiding in the shadows.

Before they could make a move, Tang Yue had already appeared in front of them like a ghost, bringing with her a sharp gust of wind.

"Here!" Tang Yue uttered only two simple words, her hands moving swiftly to stuff a considerable amount of bullets and bombs into Chang Yin and Tang Shengkai's bodies. The two instinctively caught them, the heavy load of ammunition giving them a great sense of security.

Tang Yue looked intently at the two men: "Commander, Dad, I know the location of the highest commander of Base 5. The coordinates are in the core command room on the third underground floor, which is currently heavily guarded. However, after the battle outside ends, I think he might destroy the entire command center."

Chang Yin and Tang Shengkai exchanged a glance; without needing a word, they understood Tang Yue's meaning. Gripping their weapons tightly, they turned and ran towards their target.

The base was a scene of utter devastation after the explosion. The walls of the stairwell were riddled with cracks, the chandeliers dangled precariously, and debris continued to fall from above. They carefully avoided the corpses and scattered weapons on the ground. The base was now fraught with danger.

"Watch out!" Chang Yin suddenly whispered, pulling Tang Shengkai aside.

Almost simultaneously, a bullet grazed Tang Shengkai's ear, striking the wall behind him and sending up a spray of debris. The two quickly ducked to a corner, cautiously observing their surroundings. Several American soldiers rushed out from around the corner, armed and with madness in their eyes.

Chang Yin and Tang Shengkai exchanged a glance and nodded in tacit agreement.

Chang Yin was the first to lean out and fire at the enemy, while Tang Shengkai took the opportunity to flank them. Bullets whistled through the narrow passage, and the air was filled with the acrid smell of gunpowder.

A U.S. soldier was shot in the shoulder by Chang Yin and fell to the ground screaming, but the other soldiers did not back down at all. Instead, they fought back even more frantically.

Tang Shengkai found an opening on the side, rushed forward, and smashed a soldier's head with the butt of his rifle. The soldier fell to the ground, unable to resist.

Chang Yin was even more efficient, quickly taking out the other two soldiers. However, the gunfire attracted more enemies.

"Don't linger in the fight, speed up!" Chang Yin whispered a warning. The two stopped fighting and used the terrain as cover to move quickly towards the entrance to the third underground level.
