She recalled the swimming tips her third brother had told her. Once in the water, she had to remember one word: "Fear!" As long as she wasn't afraid, the water couldn't do anything to her. If she didn't struggle, she would have a chance to survive.
She tried to relax her limbs and surface, but found that the old woman was clinging to her ankles like a leech. In the murky seawater, the old woman's distorted face appeared and disappeared, her fingernails digging deep into her flesh, as if trying to drag her into an endless abyss.
Lin Cuicui endured the excruciating pain, held her breath, and used all her strength to punch the old woman in the chest.
The old woman, in pain, let go, allowing Lin Cuicui to break free. She tried to swim towards the surface using a doggy paddle. Just as she surfaced, gasping for fresh air, the old woman attacked from below again, grabbing her waist, and the two sank back into the water.
Lin Cuicui choked on several mouthfuls of water from the sudden tug, and she hadn't been breathing properly. The two struggled fiercely in the sea, but Lin Cuicui was not good at water combat and had little fighting experience, so she quickly couldn't hold on.
On her deathbed, Lin Cuicui's mind was filled with images of her son Xixi's innocent smile, her daughter's calm eyes, her three eldest sons' worried gazes, and her third brother's warm, sunny embrace.
A powerful will to survive surged within her. No! She couldn't die here. Nor could she be kidnapped by this man!
Lin Cuicui groped in the water, pulling out her pistol from her ring. Without hesitation, she pulled the trigger. Unfortunately, the water resistance caused the bullet to miss its target, only creating a string of bubbles.
Upon seeing this, a flicker of surprise crossed the man's eyes. How could she still have a gun? Where was she hiding it? How come he hadn't noticed? Thinking this, he tightened his grip.
In a moment of quick thinking, Lin Cuicui used the butt of her gun to smash the man's temple. The man winced in pain and loosened his grip, but he didn't want to let go. Lin Cuicui struck again, and the man's head was hit once more. He knew that if he didn't let go, he would be killed by this woman, so he reluctantly let go and prepared to look for another opportunity.
Lin Cuicui took the opportunity to swim away. After surfacing, she saw the out-of-control speedboat spinning not far away, and the man resurfaced, his eyes filled with murderous intent.
