The man who had been fiercely resisting stopped instantly, and Tang Yue asked directly, "You're Wei Xin's brother?"
The man replied woodenly, "No."
Tang Yue had just glared at him when she heard the man continue, "Wei Xin is just my mother's adopted daughter; we are not blood siblings."
Tang Yue...
"Did I ask you that many details?" She rolled her eyes inelegantly. "Is that old woman your mother?"
Tang Yue pointed to the woman who had just come out carrying a basket. The man nodded affirmatively. Tang Yue looked at the old woman who was hiding under the bed in fright, "Who is that old woman?"
The man turned his head blankly to look, and then said, "She's my mother's good friend. She came to my house seven days ago."
Tang Yue's gaze fell on the old woman again, and the old woman's demeanor immediately changed. She turned around and hid behind the cabinet, accidentally bumping into it in the process. Tang Yue heard her groan.
Tang Yue narrowed her eyes slightly. This old woman's movements were too swift, far beyond her years. It seemed she had really come to the right place today. She wanted to meet this person.
Tang Yue rushed toward the cabinet, but the old woman climbed out of the side window with the agility of an old cat.
Tang Yue followed closely behind and leaped out, only to find herself jumping into a courtyard filled with clutter, the moonlight being cut into fragmented spots by the towering walls around her.
The old woman grabbed a bamboo broom from the corner of the wall and swept the bamboo stick towards Tang Yue's face like steel needles.
Tang Yue dodged to the side, grabbing a piece of broken tile from the ground. The sharp edge of the tile gleamed coldly in the moonlight. The old woman's attacks were swift and fierce, her bamboo broom sweeping and slashing with ruthless precision. Tang Yue could only rely on her agile movements to constantly dodge and look for an opportunity to counterattack.
Suddenly, the old woman hurled the bamboo broom. Tang Yue quickly ducked, and the broom flew past her head before embedding itself in the earthen wall behind her.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, the old woman lunged forward, her withered fingers clawing at Tang Yue's throat like eagle claws. Tang Yue quickly leaned back, almost touching the ground, and then kicked the old woman's knee.
The old woman reacted extremely quickly, using the momentum to leap up and land on a nearby storage box, launching another attack from above.
Tang Yue rolled on the spot to avoid the old woman's lunge, and grabbed a rusty iron pipe. After the old woman landed, she picked up a brick and hurled it at Tang Yue, who blocked it with the iron pipe, sparks flying everywhere.
The loud crash of the iron pipe hitting the bricks was particularly jarring in the quiet courtyard, making both of them feel numbness in their hands.
A glint of ruthlessness flashed in the old woman's eyes. She threw a brick at Tang Yue's feet, causing Tang Yue to stumble and nearly fall. Seizing the opportunity, the old woman rushed forward and slammed her shoulder into Tang Yue's abdomen.
Tang Yue was knocked back several steps, her back slamming heavily against the wall, almost causing it to collapse. Ignoring what was behind her, as the old woman approached again, she suddenly swung the iron pipe horizontally, striking the old woman's calf hard.
The old woman, in pain, knelt on one knee, but still did not give up. She swung a chain from her sleeve, the iron hook at the end of the chain aimed straight at Tang Yue's face.
Tang Yue quickly turned to the side, the iron hook grazing her cheek and almost hitting the corner of her eye. She grabbed the chain and pulled hard, causing the old woman to fall forward. Tang Yue seized the opportunity to punch the old woman in the face, and the old woman hurriedly blocked with her arm, and the two were once again locked in a stalemate.
The wind in the courtyard stirred up dust, blurring their vision. Suddenly, the old woman loosened the chains, took out a handful of lime powder from her bosom, and sprinkled it on Tang Yue.
Tang Yue quickly closed her eyes and held her breath, instinctively lunging towards the old woman. The old woman, caught off guard by Tang Yue's boldness, panicked and was tackled to the ground.
The two rolled and wrestled on the ground. Tang Yue held the old woman down tightly, while the old woman struggled incessantly, trying to scratch Tang Yue's arm until it bled. Tang Yue wasn't about to give her a chance. She pressed her knee against the old woman's chest and gripped her neck tightly with both hands.
The old woman struggled desperately, kicking wildly and knocking over a nearby storage box with a loud crash. But Tang Yue didn't let go, her eyes filled with unwavering killing intent.
Finally, the old woman's movements grew weaker, her eyes began to glaze over, and she collapsed to the ground. Tang Yue, panting heavily, got up from the old woman's body. Her eyes were expressionless as she looked at the old woman on the ground, who was now barely breathing.
She gave a mocking smile. What old woman? This was a man through and through. She had felt uncomfortable with this old woman from the very first moment she saw her. That's why she didn't use any of her spiritual power to fight him.
It has to be said, this man is quite capable. Especially his disguise skills, they're really impressive. If she didn't get close and observe him closely, she would have a hard time discovering that he was a man.
Tang Yue crouched down and tore open the man's clothes, revealing bandages around his chest. She had noticed his movements falter during their fight; he had apparently been injured recently.
Tang Yue pressed a pressure point to induce sleep, then lifted the man and walked to the front yard. There she saw Wei's mother struggling to carry her son out. If Tang Yue had returned two minutes later, he would have been carried out of the yard by her.
Tang Yue flicked her finger, and Wei's mother immediately fell forward to the ground. She glared back at Tang Yue with hatred, her eyes as fierce as a venomous beast. Tang Yue didn't want to interrogate her herself; she could leave that to Commander Kang.
After knocking Wei's mother unconscious, Tang Yue returned to the bedside to check on the child who was tightly covered by the blanket. Tang Yue pulled the blanket away, revealing an eleven or twelve-year-old boy staring at her in terror.
You could see a resemblance to Wei Xin in his face. Tang Yue's lips twitched slightly; she couldn't understand how Yang Shengjun's brain worked. This child looked so much like his wife, didn't he have any suspicions at all?
At that moment, Yang Shengjun, who was directing the battle on the battlefield, sneezed twice. Lu Ye, standing nearby, teased, "What's wrong, Battalion Commander Yang? Victory is just around the corner, and you're getting sick?"
