Chapter 52 Alley Blockade

Knowing the situation, the two kept their mouths shut and didn't make a sound. Their gazes swept over Tang Yue's family, and seeing that they were all watching Lü Yong's performance intently, the two narrowed their eyes and then left reluctantly.

Tang Shengkai relaxed. If Yueyue hadn't intervened, he would have stood up to stop them. These two thieves were truly persistent; they'd been loitering all night and now they'd even found an ally.

Fortunately, the two men have stepped back now, otherwise he wouldn't know what to do. He didn't know if their accomplices were still in the car. It would be quite troublesome if a fight broke out.

Qian Ming and Lu Zhanheng glanced at Tang Shengkai a few times, but neither of them said a word.

Lu Yong slowly got up from the ground, rubbing his head as he pondered to himself, something's not right, nothing's right at all.

He clearly didn't intend to hit him, but every time he was slapped, the slap landed on him. These intellectuals are really too weird; he'd better avoid them.

Once seated, Lü Yong finally calmed down.

Seeing that the excitement had died down, Tang Yue continued eating her steamed bun. They hadn't bought much; these days, you needed coupons for everything, and they simply didn't have any.

In the end, Tang Bei remembered clearly that there were some in those black boxes. At the time, they didn't know what they were, so Lin Cuicui just put them all away. They actually came in handy.

However, Lin Cuicui was frugal. She only took one bus trip and bought a few extra items. She then shared them with those people for two meals, and they didn't have many left.

Not long after finishing their meal, the train arrived smoothly at Beijing Railway Station. Tang Shengkai and his family slowly disembarked, following the flow of people.

Tang Yue's lips were always upturned; something good was about to happen.

When they got off the train, Qian Ming and the others were chased away by a group of young people. Under those circumstances, Qian Ming whispered in Tang Shengkai's ear, "Don't wander around after you get out. Just stay at the train station."

Tang Shengkai remained unchanged, continuing to walk forward with his basket on his back and Tang Yue in his arms. After creating some distance between himself and the others, Tang Shengkai looked at his daughter in his arms.

"What do they mean by that? Why can't we leave?"

Tang Yue smiled and said, "Oh, those two thieves gathered a few people and were planning to ambush us outside the train station."

Tang Shengkai believed his daughter's words, but he was somewhat puzzled, "How did those people know?"

Tang Yue sighed inwardly. Experience was indeed something that needed to be accumulated gradually; her father was still quite far behind. But there was no rush; they had plenty of time to learn.

"Hmm? Maybe they've seen it more often."

Tang Shengkai looked at his little daughter with resentment; his daughter's words were not pleasant to hear at all.

"So we're really not leaving the train station?"

How could that be? Are you suggesting they follow them on the train to the border town? And then they wouldn't have a moment's peace the entire way?

"Dad, let's go buy the tickets first. Then we'll see what to do next."

Today is the first day of the Lunar New Year. My train departs at 9:30 pm, so it's not even noon yet. I have plenty of free time this afternoon.

Tang Shengkai frowned. Was he really going to sit at the train station for the entire afternoon?

"Third Brother, should we go buy some more things? We can give them away as gifts when we get there."

Lin Cuicui has become somewhat addicted to shopping in Shenyang. She doesn't have enough time, and she's reluctant to spend money. But shopping is a woman's nature, and Lin Cuicui is no exception.

Just like her daughter said, it's good to see more. The more you see, the more you'll understand. They still know too little.

"Cui Cui, it might not be safe outside."

Lin Cuicui, now provoked by Tang Yue, no longer reacts much to words like "it's unsafe outside."

"Third Brother, even if we stay in the train station, we can't stop anyone from having any ideas."

Instead of doing this, we might as well go out and take a look; there's still quite a while. Besides, we're running out of steamed buns; we'll have to go out and buy some more.

Tang Bei and his friends were quite excited; none of them showed any fear or apprehension, their faces beaming with excitement. Even Old Li was no exception. Tang Shengkai was speechless; his father, at such an advanced age, was willing to join in their fun.

"Then let's go."

Whether he sticks his neck out or not, he'll still get hurt eventually, and Tang Shengkai didn't want the children to think he was a good-for-nothing. Besides, who knows when he'll be able to return to Beijing after this departure?

Everyone shouldered their large baskets and headed out of the train station.

The two thieves lingered not far from Tang Shengkai and his group, their eyes constantly glancing in their direction.

Seeing that the group had bought their train tickets but showed no sign of leaving, he became a little anxious.

They had already made a plan on the train: if these people didn't leave the train station, they would arrange for more people to come in later.

There must be something good in their baskets; they definitely have to take it.

Furthermore, these people ate steamed buns as soon as they got on the bus. Although they dressed rather modestly, thieves have sharp eyes and know that they must have money in their hands.

These days, there aren't many easy targets like this. Letting one go means one less, and they won't suffer that loss.

Seeing everyone leave the train station, the two were delighted and followed them out, one of them even blowing a vulgar whistle.

Tang Shengkai held Tang Yue in his arms, and Tang Yue leaned on Tang Shengkai's shoulder, her gaze fixed on the two thieves behind them. Seeing their excitement, Tang Yue smiled.

Actually, she was quite excited too.

After going outside, they asked a few people for directions. By this time, public buses had already started operating in Beijing. Everyone was overjoyed to hear that they were going to take the bus to the mall.
