Chapter 76 My sister can't be involved.

76

Tang Yue twisted her wrist and broke free from the grip. Turning around, she saw Lu Zhanheng staring at her in shock.

Lu Zhanheng was working in the cowshed when he heard two boys yelling something like "Bad guy, let me go!" He couldn't get over the hurdle in his heart, so he went out to check.

When he went outside, he saw three young men dragging two children, who looked to be around ten years old, up the mountain. He wanted to chase after them, but was stopped by someone in the cowshed.

"Don't you know your place? I advise you not to meddle in other people's business."

Lu Zhanheng grew anxious as he heard the sounds fading into the distance. "Didn't you see? Those people are clearly trying to harm those two children."

Sun Shouzhen held onto Lu Zhanheng's arm tightly, saying, "That's none of your business. Those three are thugs in this village. If you mess with them, you'll definitely suffer the consequences. You'd better mind your own business."

Lu Zhanheng ignored him and tried to leave by pulling out his own arm, but Sun Shouzhen grabbed his arm again. "Lu Zhanheng, don't forget you're living in the cowshed now. If you get out and cause any trouble, they won't care who you are."

"It could implicate the entire cowshed. Are you really at ease now?"

Lu Zhanheng hesitated for a moment, but those two children shouldn't suffer from the persecution of those thugs.

"Don't worry, they know their limits and have never killed anyone. Those two kids probably offended them. Once they've vented their anger, they'll let them go home. You should just stay here quietly."

Lu Zhanheng knew Sun Shouzheng meant well. However, he was still a little upset; what was going on?

Seeing that Lu Zhanheng made no further moves, Sun Shouzhen left. He stopped Lu Zhanheng not only for Lu Zhanheng's own good, but also because he didn't want the cowshed to be implicated.

Lu Zhanheng understood what these people were thinking, and it made sense; he shouldn't implicate others because of his own mistake. After all, the people here had already suffered enough.

He focused intently on his work, and only left quietly when no one was paying attention. He was a soldier; that spirit ingrained in his very being could never be dispelled.

He couldn't bear to watch those two children suffer. Even if they didn't die, why should they have to put up with those adults' mistreatment?

With years of combat experience, Lu Zhanheng quickly followed the trail to the cave halfway up the mountain. The sounds coming from inside were quite loud. He climbed up and pushed aside the bushes, and immediately saw Tang Yue standing at the cave entrance.

What shocked him even more was that this little girl could easily break free from his grasp. His skills were honed through rigorous training in the military; how could this young girl, at such a young age, possess such abilities?

Tang Yue's face remained expressionless, showing no surprise as she looked at Lu Zhanheng. Her entire attention had been focused on the cave, ignoring the surrounding noises, but she had still heard Lu Zhanheng approach.

However, she ignored him; she still had one thought in mind: to rescue her second and third brothers.

In just a short while, a mournful wail came from the cave. Tang Yue ignored Lu Zhanheng and rushed to the cave entrance. The moment Tang Dong saw Tang Yue, his expression became even more ferocious.

He must succeed; he cannot let his sister get involved.

Tang Dong stared into Tang Yue's eyes, his small body seemingly about to dissipate all its bones and muscles. Tang Yue was surprised, not expecting that her third brother was diligently absorbing spiritual energy at this moment.

When did he sense the presence of spiritual energy? How come she didn't know?

Tang Dong never expected that while being punched and pounded by Zhang Xiaoguang and Xu Erfeng, he would strangely sense the presence of spiritual energy amidst the pain.

He saw tiny black lights flickering and jumping around the cave. Tang Dong thought he was seeing things; had they hit him? How could he be seeing black lights?

But no matter how he looked at it, those points of light were still there, and Tang Dong was somewhat excited. If he could only see these spiritual energies by being beaten, then he was willing to be beaten for a while longer.

He became even more rude, and the two men punched him more and more. Tang Nan couldn't bear to see his underling being beaten, so he cursed even more vehemently than Tang Dong. As a result, the two men endured countless blows from Li Qingzhu and the other two.

When Tang Yue arrived, she saw the two of them in such a miserable state.

At this moment, Tang Dong's face was contorted with rage as he mentally tried to attract spiritual energy using the method Tang Yue had taught him. However, the small black ball of light remained elusive, barely touching him. Tang Dong was frantic; he absolutely couldn't let his sister in. He absolutely couldn't expose her secret.

So he struggled even more with the black ball of light, which is why Tang Yue saw Tang Dong's ferocious expression.

Tang Yue was no longer in a hurry. With her third brother so determined, she felt he would succeed soon.

Sure enough, after a short while, a small black ball of light trembled and entered Tang Dong's body as he pulled with all his might. Although the ball of light was small, Tang Dong suddenly felt a change throughout his body.

However, no other expression appeared on his face. Having succeeded once, the next one would be a natural next step. Tang Dong stared intently as he absorbed the light orbs one by one, while Tang Yue stood silently watching from the cave entrance.

The wails of Li Qingzhu and the other two seemed unable to reach her ears; at this moment, she could only see her brother.

Not long after, Tang Dong absorbed all the black light orbs around him, then roared with his face up. With a forceful pull of his arms, the rope binding him snapped with a "bang".

Tang Dong showed no joy, as if the matter was commonplace. Instead of untying Tang Nan first, he walked up to Li Qingzhu.
