When Tang Shengkai was called to the meeting room by the class monitor and saw Tang Yue, his hands trembled with excitement as he picked up his daughter.
"Girl, you're too gentle."
Tang Yue's lips twitched involuntarily. This was her own father. She had been eating delicious meat and vegetables every day for the past few days, and she could clearly feel that she had gained several rolls of fat around her waist, but her father seemed not to notice at all.
"Dad, the food in the army is very good, I've gained a lot of weight."
Tang Shengkai shook his head, "Still too thin."
Tang Yue sighed helplessly; perhaps this was just how her parents showed their love.
Afterwards, Tang Shengkai asked Tang Yue why she was in the mountains, and Tang Yue didn't hide anything from him. She told Tang Shengkai everything about her family. Tang Shengkai was very worried about his children, but it wasn't holiday time, so he couldn't go back.
Tang Yue nestled in Tang Shengkai's arms, wrapped her arms around his neck, and whispered in his ear.
"Don't worry, Dad. I'll be able to cure my brothers when I get back. They suffered a lot these past few days in the army."
Hearing his daughter's words, Tang Shengkai felt much relieved. He knew his daughter's abilities. At the same time, Tang Shengkai whispered in Tang Yue's ear...
"Daughter, I can absorb spiritual energy now."
Tang Yue immediately met Tang Shengkai's gaze. She hadn't expected her father to have such good aptitude; he was already able to absorb spiritual energy in just over two months. If this were in a sect, he could easily become an outer disciple.
"Really? Congratulations, Dad! How far have we gotten?"
This is also what frustrates Tang Shengkai.
"It's very, very slow to absorb. I try my best every night, but I can only absorb about twenty light clusters at most."
Tang Yue sighed. It seemed her father's aptitude wasn't that great after all. But it was already very good. She hadn't expected that, given the current situation, everyone in the family except Old Li had spiritual roots, which already made her very happy.
She gently patted her father's shoulder and said, "It's okay, Dad, keep up the good work."
Tang Shengkai nodded excitedly and told his daughter about how he felt his speed and endurance had improved.
Tang Yue put on a serious face, pretending to be a little adult, and said, "Yes. Daddy is older than all those older brothers and uncles, so I must work harder than them."
Tang Shengkai felt like he had been hit with a 10,000-point critical strike by his daughter.
Afterwards, the father and daughter chatted for a long time. Tang Yue told her father about her agreement with Commander Kang, and how she had refused when Commander Kang asked her to join the army.
Tang Shengkai didn't say anything. He respected his daughter's thoughts. His daughter's personality was such that she didn't like being constrained, and that was fine.
The two chatted for half an hour before Chang Yin came over and knocked on the door. Commander Kang had ordered him to personally escort Tang Yue home. Tang Shengkai put Tang Yue down, stood at attention, and gave Chang Yin a military salute.
"Thank you for your hard work, Battalion Commander!"
After returning his military salute, Chang Yin said solemnly:
"Train hard."
He then left with Tang Yue.
Tang Yue was reluctant to leave her father, but there was nothing she could do. She kept turning back to wave goodbye to her father, which brought tears to Tang Shengkai's eyes.
Tang Yue wasn't in a good mood on the way, and Chang Yin wasn't a talkative person either. The two didn't talk much until they were almost at Daobei Village, when Chang Yin finally asked a question.
"Little girl, do you know any other prescriptions?"
Tang Yue lazily looked up at Chang Yin without saying a word. Chang Yin didn't ask any further questions either.
As she approached her house, Tang Yue could see from the car that a large crowd had gathered in front of her house, and they seemed to be arguing.
She immediately released her senses and saw that at the very front was Lu Yong, the educated youth, leading several other educated youths from the educated youth settlement, standing at the very front of Tang Yue's house shouting.
"Why should we? Those wild boars live in the mountains. If you keep them for yourselves, you're undermining socialism. If you don't share them with everyone, we'll report you to the county authorities."
"Yes. You're undermining socialism. If you don't give it to us, we'll sue you."
Lin Cuicui and Old Li stood anxiously at the door. They opened their mouths to say something, but Lu Yong and the others' voices drowned them out, and they couldn't hear anything.
Many villagers watched from the sidelines. Apart from Sister Miao, Sister Ding, and a few other sisters-in-law whom Tang Yue recognized, who were helping to push the educated youth out, the other villagers did not help or join Lü Yong and his group in causing trouble.
Hearing the sound of a car, everyone turned around. Seeing a military vehicle driving towards them, the villagers immediately moved to both sides, making way for it.
Chang Yin drove the car directly to the front door of Tang Yue's house.
It was moving very fast, and when it stopped, it kicked up a cloud of dust. The front of the car was only a few centimeters away from Lü Yong.
After the car stopped, Lü Yong was deathly pale. If he hadn't been leaning against the other educated youth, he would have been unable to stand.
Chang Yin opened the door and got out of the car, and Tang Yue also pushed open the passenger door and jumped out herself.
"What happened?"
When Lin Cuicui saw her daughter return, she rushed over and hugged her tightly. She wanted to ask her something, but seeing the situation, she could only keep her words to herself.
Village Chief Li came over and explained the whole story.
Previously, Tang Yue had hunted 11 wild boars from the mountain. As Village Chief Li had previously stated, five and a half of them would belong to Daobei Village, while the remaining five and a half would belong to Tang Yue's family.
If there's only one pig, the villagers naturally have nothing to say; they'd be quite satisfied to get half a pig's worth of meat.
On the contrary, there are too many wild boars now. Although there are five and a half in the village, Tang Yue's family still has five and a half left. Although the villagers didn't say anything at the time, they always had some thoughts in their hearts.
