Chapter 140 Training Ground Competition Part 2

140

Meeting Zhao Fei's provocative gaze, Tang Yue nodded. "Alright, let's have a shooting contest then."

The two arrived at the shooting range, naturally followed by a large group of people. At this moment, not only did the fourth company stop training, but even the other battalion commanders came over to watch.

The soldiers below surged forward like they were on steroids, all eager to be the first to get a piece of the story.

Zhao Fei picked up a rifle, quickly aimed, and fired ten shots, each bullet hitting the bullseye precisely. He turned to look at Tang Yue, a hint of provocation in his eyes.

Tang Yue also picked up a rifle. She hadn't seen one before, but she'd just seen Zhao Fei use it. She had the feel for it. But she needed to get a feel for it at first.

Taking a deep breath, Tang Yue pulled the trigger. The bullets whistled out and hit the target one by one. After ten shots, the score was announced.

"7 rings, 9 rings, 10 rings, 10 rings, 10 rings, 10 rings, 10 rings, 10 rings, 10 rings!"

When Zhao Fei heard the score report, he wasn't surprised; instead, his face was filled with astonishment. He instantly turned his head, his eyes fixed on Tang Yue. "Company Commander, you've never used a rifle before?"

Zhao Fei's voice wasn't quiet, and those who were about to clap stopped. Some had noticed Tang Yue, while others had turned their attention to the target. Since Zhao Fei had said that, it was most likely true.

Tang Yue nodded; there was nothing she couldn't admit.

"Hmm, this is the first time I've seen this. I've only ever used handguns before."

Others might not understand what she meant, but Chang Yin, who was standing to the side, knew what she meant.

Silence fell again. So, what a weirdo. The first two shots didn't hit the bullseye because he wasn't quite getting the hang of it yet and was still finding his rhythm?

The group was utterly crushed. Zhao Fei immediately put down his gun; there was no point in competing anymore, he was completely defeated.

"Reporting to the company commander, I am completely convinced!"

The others were at a loss for words. This little girl's abilities were absolutely phenomenal. But surely she couldn't be good at everything? They were now truly impressed by the fourth company commander, but they were also curious whether the commander simply possessed these two advantages?

Tang Yue put down her rifle, her gaze sweeping over the crowd. "Anyone else want to try?"

This time, no one stepped forward. The soldiers of the Fourth Company were already impressed by Tang Yue's abilities, their eyes shining with admiration. Despite some ulterior motives, a child with such skills was certainly qualified to be a company commander. Fine, let's accept it.

Tang Yue could tell that these people still had some ulterior motives. Since they had already competed, how could she not make them all convinced at once? Dealing with them one by one later would be too slow.

Besides, isn't it troublesome?

Tang Yue stood at the front of the formation. Though petite, her posture was upright and her gaze resolute. She could feel the soldiers' gazes, but she didn't speak immediately. Instead, she quietly observed each of them.

"I know that despite the two competitions we just had, many of you are still dissatisfied with me becoming your company commander."

You might think, "Maybe those two things just happened to be my strengths, and they happened to run into them?" Anyway, I'm still a kid at heart, and being your company commander still has a playful element to it.

Tang Yue's voice was clear and resonant as her gaze swept across the soldiers' faces. "I may be young, but I'm confident I can lead you to become the best company. I know you don't believe me, so..."

Tang Yue smiled slightly, "Then let's compete together. Time is limited, so we'll compete in three events."

Tang Yue looked at the crowd that had packed the area around her and said, "Don't just let four people participate. Everyone can join in. Anyone who wants to participate can come along."

The soldiers' interest was piqued. "Is this even possible?" they thought. "Not just the Fourth Company, they were dragged along too!" And why were they even a little excited?

Chang Yin stood outside the circle, a hint of helplessness in his eyes. Although he wanted to see what this little girl was capable of, she was quite the troublemaker.

Ignoring the whispers around them, Tang Yue was determined to finish the match quickly. Her voice carried an undeniable air of authority, "First round: shooting; second round: physical fitness; third round: hand-to-hand combat."

The group exchanged glances and unanimously agreed to the rule. Although Tang Yue had just competed with Zhao Fei in shooting, and they knew Tang Yue was new to shooting, this was the only way they could truly see just how skilled she was, wasn't it?

Furthermore, Zhao Fei isn't the only sharpshooter in the army; several others had just stepped forward to challenge Tang Yue. Now, isn't this opportunity here?

Everyone was ready to participate. They had been training for years, and the South Island Legion members were all top performers in the military, so they had absolute confidence in these events.

Seeing that everyone was already lined up, I said, "Okay, let's begin."

Tang Yue's voice carried a hint of excitement; she wanted to let loose and have some fun today.

In the first round, it was a moving shooting exercise. The soldiers threw their projectiles into the air, and then everyone's attention was focused on Tang Yue. Tang Yue picked up her gun and fired five shots into the air, bringing down all the objects the soldiers had just thrown.

What? Did they only hear five gunshots? How could they have taken down ten targets with just five shots? What's the point of this competition?

The soldiers were amazed; they hadn't expected their company commander to have such superb marksmanship. Many of them retired, knowing their own limitations.

The last few sharpshooters didn't go up either. It was really unnecessary; they couldn't guarantee they could perform like Tang Yue. They were now convinced of this junior company commander's marksmanship.
