That one sentence almost made everyone in the room dizzy. It took them a long time to recover. Wu Jinghua felt that the room was much warmer, so she got out of bed and walked over.
As soon as I opened the door, I heard Lai Xiang's words. "Wh-what? Three houses were built in one day?"
Wu Jinghua could hardly believe her ears. Lai Xiang quickly got up and helped her mother inside, then began to vividly recount the story to the others. They gasped in amazement, marveling at Tang Yue's incredible abilities.
Since this cowshed was built, this place has never been this lively. The commotion here could naturally be heard by a couple in an empty room. The woman was very resentful, "They're already living in a cowshed and they still can't keep quiet. If they keep causing trouble, I'll report them to the Red Army Association tomorrow."
The man was very impatient. "Stop with your little schemes. Don't you know what time it is? Don't cause trouble."
Tang Yue overheard these two sentences and lowered her voice, "Grandpa Ke, when did you arrive?"
The two exchanged a glance, and Grandpa Ke said, "We came in September." Tang Yue nodded her little head towards the innermost cowshed, "And what about them?"
Old Ke shook his head. "I don't know. They were already here when Old Xu and I arrived. But those two are quite strange. They never interact with us. They've never gone out to work either. I don't know what's going on with them."
Tang Yue narrowed her eyes slightly. Who were Old Ke and Old Xu? They had also come out of the hail of bullets when they were young. She immediately sensed that something was wrong.
Old Ke's voice lowered even further, "What's wrong? Do you think there's something wrong with them?"
Tang Yue smiled slightly. "Hmm, we'll find out if there are any problems by asking."
Tang Jianye glanced at Tang Yue. "No way, no way? They just came to check on a former educated youth, and they actually caught some criminals?"
However, Tang Yue wasn't in a hurry. No one knew where she got several bowls, but she washed them with snow outside the door, and Lai Xiang served each person a bowl of thick rice porridge. Lai Jiaxing and the others hadn't eaten such thick porridge in a long time. As they ate, tears welled up in their eyes.
Old Ke and Old Xu felt even worse. They had been here for several months, in such harsh conditions, and not a single one of their families had inquired about their situation or sent them anything.
After finishing her meal, Tang Yue looked at Tang Jianye and said, "Let's go get to work."
