Chapter 514 Going Home

514

The captain of the 'Kemi' on this trial voyage had a sharp gaze. No one knew what he was thinking at that moment. He only saw his eyes light up for a moment before he immediately ordered: "Weapon control system, activate Standard Missile-6 intercept!"

The cover of the Vertical Launching System (VLSS) unfolded like flower petals, and eight missiles, trailing plumes of flame, soared into the air, heading straight for the target at speeds exceeding Mach 5, guided by the command and decision-making system.

Eight brilliant bursts of fire erupted at the sea-air interface, and the wreckage of eight US military aircraft crashed into the sea.

With a sudden "whoosh," everyone on the Kermi was thrown into a frenzy. Before they could ask any questions, Christopher, the American representative who had come to visit, immediately stopped.

At that moment, his mind was filled with the image of eight US military aircraft being shot down and crashing into the sea; he simply couldn't accept this fact. At the same time, he was terrified. How could this be? Was the Chinese 'Kemi' really that powerful?

That was the latest fighter jet developed by the United States, shot down by a Chinese missile before it even took off. How could he accept that? Besides, his mission had failed.

Christopher's eyes were bloodshot with rage. He rushed out and headed toward the control room, but was immediately captured by the soldiers guarding the safety of the officers.

Christopher struggled fiercely, but he was no match for the Chinese soldiers. Commander Kang frowned and stepped forward. "Mr. Christopher, what are you doing? Are you dissatisfied with the sea trials of the 'Kemi'?"

Of course, you can raise any comments you have after the sea trial. Now it's time for the official sea trial, please be quiet.

"Quiet? You dare tell me to be quiet? You shot down eight American fighter jets for no reason, didn't you see it?"

Commander Kang suddenly realized, then looked at Christopher in surprise, "Mr. Christopher, is there some misunderstanding? Because the Chinese army is supporting the border war with Vietnam, we test-drove a simulated U.S. military aircraft this time."

Those eight aircraft were ones we had prepared in advance for missile performance testing; they weren't actual US military fighter jets.

Before Christopher could say anything, Commander Kang continued, "Of course, Mr. Christopher, you should also know that this is China, and China's land, sea, and air forces will not be violated by other countries."

How could US fighter jets suddenly appear within Chinese airspace? That makes no sense, right?

The other leaders exchanged glances and nodded in agreement. Although the time was short, they all seemed to have seen the large U.S. military insignia on the U.S. fighter jets.

However, no one is a fool. If those eight fighter jets really were sent by the US, then they truly had ill intentions. This outcome is just what's needed.

Christopher wanted to argue. But what could he say? Could he claim that the US military aircraft were coming to provoke them, and that they intended to launch missiles at the USS Kermi to disrupt the sea trials?

If he said that, he was sure these Chinese people would immediately throw him into the sea to feed the sharks.

Seeing that he had stopped struggling, Commander Kang looked at him with a smile. "Mr. Christopher, I'm truly sorry for what happened just now, but your behavior was too agitated. We were just trying to protect everyone's safety. Please understand."

Christopher was deathly pale. He knew that saying anything more would be pointless. The other Americans who had come with him also fell silent. However, from that moment on, their attitude towards China changed.

This sleeping master from the East seems to have awakened and is reaching out its claws to the world. Anyone who dares to oppress it will be torn from their body.

Commander Kang waved towards the control room, signaling for the sea trial to continue!

The captain's lips curled into a barely perceptible smile before he coldly ordered, "Anti-submarine test begins!"

As the new command was issued, the towed sonar at the stern slowly entered the water. Moments later, a signal simulating an enemy submarine appeared on the screen.

The Kermi quickly changed course and launched an ASROC anti-submarine missile. The missile traced an arc in the air before plunging into the sea, accurately hitting the target area and sending up a water column tens of meters high.

Commander Huang excitedly pounded on the railing of the reviewing stand: "Anti-submarine warfare, air defense, and anti-missile defense are all done in one go. This is the kind of sea fortress we need!"

As the setting sun bathed the ship in gold, the final test—land attack—began.

Tang Yue lightly touched the control panel: "Tomahawk cruise missile, target, simulated enemy coastal defense fortifications." Two Tomahawk missiles roared out from the vertical launch system, skimming the sea for several minutes before accurately hitting the target dozens of kilometers away.

A violent explosion sent up a mushroom cloud, and thunderous applause erupted on the deck.

Ignoring the pale faces of the foreigners, the leaders of the various military regions of China disembarked with delight. Tang Yue didn't watch any longer; she teleported back home in a few moments. Old Li was carrying dishes out when he saw Tang Yue and almost dropped the plate.

"Yue, Yueyue?"

Tang Yue smiled at her grandfather and said, "Yes, Grandpa, I'm back."

As soon as the words were spoken, the curtain to Lin Cuicui's room was suddenly lifted, and Lin Cuicui rushed out, one arm around Xixi's waist. The moment she saw Tang Yue, Lin Cuicui's eyes immediately reddened.

Tang Yue scanned Lin Cuicui up and down, and only when she saw that Lin Cuicui seemed to be unharmed did she feel relieved.

She had just run into a warm embrace. A choked sob came from above, "Yueyue, Mommy's Yueyue is back. It's good that you're back."

"Mommy~" Tang Yue clung to Lin Cuicui's embrace. Heaven knows how she felt when she heard that her mother had fought with spies in the sea. At that moment, she wanted to slaughter everyone in those three countries.
