85
Tang Yue originally wanted to bring four back to the village, give two to the village, and keep two for herself. This number was just right, quite good.
But perhaps anger was simmering between the two sides. Even though the tiger was riddled with holes from the wild boar's tusks, it remained undeterred and continued to fight the boar.
The wild boar, seemingly without a brain, never gave up, no matter how injured or maimed it was, dragging its broken limbs as it charged towards the tiger.
When Chang Yin and the others were finally brought here by the little bird, Tang Yue had already stabbed the heads of 11 wild boars with a wood-chopping knife.
Just as Tang Yue was plunging her machete into the skull of a wild boar, Chang Yin and several others rushed out from the dense bushes.
This sudden turn of events startled the tiger and the remaining wild boar herd. Both sides were already furious, and when they saw so many two-legged creatures arrive, both animals cursed under their breath.
Damn it, if I can't beat a bunch of wild boars, can't I at least crush a few two-legged beasts?
The wild boar herd thought the same thing. If their fathers couldn't wipe out the skinny tiger now, couldn't they at least kill a few two-legged creatures?
As if they had reached a consensus, all that could be seen was a wounded tiger and a group of wild boars charging towards them.
Chang Yin's eyes sharpened, and he shouted urgently, "Scatter!"
Everyone immediately obeyed the command, but the wild boars and tigers had already pounced. The group immediately drew the scimitars hanging from their waists and fought with the wild boars and tigers.
These guys had already exhausted almost all their strength in the battle, and now, as they fought the soldiers, although they still had their ferocity, their strength had been completely crushed by the soldiers.
Before long, the tiger and the remaining wild boars were all taken down by the arriving soldiers.
Chang Yin and Tang Yue stood to one side without saying a word. After all the dangers were over, Chang Yin stood in front of the little girl and held out the note to her.
"You wrote it."
Tang Yue didn't want to lie, after all, one lie might require 100 or 1000 more to cover it up. That would be too exhausting, and she wouldn't even know if what she said before was true or false.
Since Yin had always felt that she wasn't a normal child, he might as well just admit it.
"Um."
How did you know we were doing field training in the mountains?
"Oh, you're doing field training in the mountains?"
Tang Yue feigned surprise and shock, shrugging her shoulders. "I didn't know that. I just wanted the little bird to inform you from the military base. Did the bird actually encounter you in the mountains?"
As he spoke, he patted his forehead and said, "Oh dear, I miscalculated. What if it had encountered bad guys or spies who would have sent the message out directly?"
It seems I need to think about how to train the bird to recognize its own people.
"You can even train birds!" This was the most useful piece of information Chang Yin had heard from Tang Yue's words.
Tang Yue shook her head, "No, I only did that in a moment of panic. But this little bird is quite obedient, so I fed it the little pills I made with herbs, and it obediently did as I told it to, and it actually brought you here."
Looking at the sun's position in the sky, Tang Yue commented, "The speed isn't too slow."
Chang Yin knew that if the little girl didn't want to say something, he would never be able to get it out of her, so he looked towards the cave.
"Is the person still inside?"
"Yeah, he's still here. He tried to run away just now, and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to catch him or stop him once he got into the mountains. So I punched him, and he passed out. He hasn't woken up yet."
Tang Yue stared at Chang Yin with her innocent, wide eyes. Chang Yin, out of Tang Yue's sight, twitched the corner of his mouth.
After making a gesture, he grabbed his gun and led his men into the cave.
When they arrived, they had already surrounded the cave. Only about a third of the men he brought were there to participate in killing the wild boar.
Upon entering the cave, he and Wang Ming rushed to the front, while the others remained on guard at the entrance. Seeing the contents of the cave and the documents on the shelves, Chang Yin felt a headache coming on.
This little girl has done another good deed. We still don't know how to reward her for the last one. Her father is fine; he can slowly accumulate military merits to get promoted. But this little girl is only four years old and isn't a soldier. How should we recognize her contributions?
Two people were summoned to tie up the spy, and then the documents on the wooden board were carefully collected and put into the large backpack behind him.
As I lifted my foot to walk outside, I noticed the freshly turned soil on the ground beneath the opposite wall.
Chang Yin summoned two soldiers, who pulled out iron shovels from their waists and began digging.
In no time, they dug out two boxes from the ground, each capable of holding half a square meter of items.
They broke the lock and opened the box. Everyone gasped in shock.
The golden light stung their eyes.
Tang Yue didn't go inside, but she still saw what was in the box. She pouted, somewhat regretting that she hadn't thought to dig up the soil and see what was inside. It was truly a mistake.
After thoroughly inspecting the cave again and finding no further clues, Chang Yin led his men out and stood in front of Tang Yue.
"Little girl, you have to come with us."
"Ah, where to?"
"Come back to the unit with me and tell me the whole story of how you discovered the spy today. If everything is fine, the unit will send you home."
Tang Yue frowned. "This probably won't work. My two older brothers are injured, and they're waiting for my herbs to come home and save their lives."
