Chen Qingshan's gaze returned to the little girl, landing directly in a pair of dark, inky eyes.
Chen Qingshan felt a chill run down his spine. He felt as if he were being watched by something, and he felt extremely uncomfortable.
As this feeling arose in her heart, the little girl suddenly smiled, "Uncle Chen, if I could, I would prefer that this assassination attempt had not occurred."
It's like two groups of people had a gunfight on the tip of Beishan Mountain, but there were no casualties and no one knew where the people had gone.
What do you think?
"How about it?" Chen Qingshan thought to himself. "If I say no, will we never get out of Qiligou today?"
But she looks like a very young girl, so why does he suddenly feel such a strong sense of pressure?
Chen Qingshan understood what the little girl meant, but wouldn't that make him make a mistake? He absolutely couldn't do such a thing.
"Little girl, what if the truth comes out eventually?"
Tang Yue smiled, "Uncle Chen, you can still go down the mountain now and pretend nothing happened."
As expected, Chen Qingshan turned around and walked down the mountain without saying a word.
It wasn't a matter of principle; it was just a few spy uniforms. Anyway, everyone's dead, as long as everyone's safe, that's all that matters. Why worry about such trivial details? Isn't that just adding to the county's workload?
Most importantly, Chen Qingshan felt that this little girl was not so simple. It was just a casual matter. How many people had directly killed and buried spies?
As Chen Qingshan walked down the mountain, he heard Tang Yue's weak voice.
"Uncle Chen, why don't we go back to the county town later? I need to talk to you about something later."
Chen Qingshan stumbled as he descended the mountain. Was something else going on? This little girl mustn't cause him any more trouble; his heart couldn't take it.
Tang Shengkai and Lin Cuicui were at a loss for words. Their daughter dared to openly threaten county officials—something they lacked. They remained silent.
Qian Dazhi and Old Li were standing not far away when they saw Chen Qingshan leave before they came over.
Qian Dazhi's voice was no different from usual, "What should we do with these corpses? Bury them on the spot?"
"If they're going to bury me, I'll have to go back and get a shovel; it's not a good place to dig."
Tang Shengkai looked around and thought, "These spies really know how to pick a spot."
As he spoke, he pointed behind the rocky beach, "No need to bury them anymore. There's a ravine not far over there. There's a pack of gray wolves there. Throw these corpses down from there, and they'll be food for them."
Qian Dazhi glanced over; he did remember this place. That mountain stream was exceptionally long, and no matter which way the black wolf went, it wouldn't be easy for it to reach Qiligou. He didn't say anything more and went with Old Li to carry the body.
Lin Cuicui went to help, and the three of them easily lifted the body. They walked a short distance, then with a strong shake, it slid down the ravine.
Tang Shengkai, feeling somewhat exhausted, sat down on a rock to rest. Tang Yue squatted down in front of him and asked, "Dad, is your thigh bleeding?"
"No."
Tang Yue didn't believe it and rolled up Tang Shengkai's cotton pants. Tang Shengkai reached out to stop her, but Tang Yue's grip was stronger than his.
Tang Shengkai has lost a lot of weight. His cotton-padded pants were already loose-fitting, so they easily rolled up to his knees. Sticky blood had soaked a large area of his pants.
Tang Yue opened her palm, and a ball of spiritual energy condensed in it. Tang Yue slowly placed her small hand on Tang Shengkai's knee, and the bleeding gradually stopped.
At the same time, Tang Shengkai felt the pain in his thigh gradually disappear, and his whole body felt much lighter. Moreover, the spiritual energy seemed to be nourishing other parts of his body, and he took a comfortable deep breath.
"Yueyue, if it weren't for you, I don't know what our family would be like now."
Tang Yue smiled slightly, "Dad, if it weren't for you, I would have died long ago and been buried on the hill by Tang Shengjun."
The father and son smiled at each other.
"Dad, I feel like I should be able to help you treat your leg in another two days. Don't worry, Dad."
"real?"
Tang Shengkai could hardly believe it; wasn't his daughter moving a little too fast?
"Yueyue, Daddy's not in a hurry. Don't force yourself."
Tang Yue felt even warmer inside. "Don't worry, Dad, it's alright."
After she finished speaking, seeing that Old Li and Qian Dazhi had already thrown a lot of corpses over, Tang Yue, with her sharp ears, heard footsteps below, which sounded like they were not far away.
"Dad, take a rest for a while."
After speaking, Tang Yue walked towards the corpses, picking them up as she went. After Qian Dazhi and the others threw one away, they turned around and saw four white corpses piled up together, moving sideways toward them. The group froze.
It's come back to life? What's going on?
"Yueyue?"
Lin Cuicui tentatively called out, "Yes, Mom, please move aside, I'm coming over."
Two sounds of swallowing saliva were heard: "Gulp, gulp".
Old Li and Qian Dazhi were at a loss for words. They hadn't witnessed the young girl kill more than 20 spies, and although it seemed unbelievable, the shock hadn't been that great yet.
But who could imagine a little girl under four years old carrying four strong, adult men?
It was utterly unbelievable. Before the others could even react, Tang Yue had already thrown the remaining corpses down into the ravine.
"People from the village have come."
Tang Yue said something indifferently, and then walked towards Tang Shengkai.
Just then, the brigade leader arrived with a group of villagers carrying various weapons.
"Third brother, what happened?"
The captain was panting heavily; the villagers had basically helped him up the stairs, but he was still exhausted. Fearing spies nearby, no one dared to help him.
