"What kind of poison did Dad get?"
Tang Shengkai still couldn't figure out how he had been poisoned. But he knew his daughter wouldn't say that for no reason. She must have found out.
Tang Shengkai looked at the wounds all over his body and thought that if he was really poisoned, the most likely cause would be the wounds all over his body.
"Hallucinogenic drugs can cause limb stiffness. Dad, didn't you notice?"
Tang Shengkai thought back and realized that he had been focused on fighting the Japanese and hadn't paid much attention to anything else. However, he did feel increasingly tired and weak afterward, and it was extremely difficult to raise his hand or swing his arm. He thought it was because he had exhausted his spiritual energy.
I never expected these Japanese devils to be so cunning. They actually tampered with the knives.
Seeing that Tang Shengkai was alright, Tang Yue let go of his hand and casually picked up a dagger from the ground.
“Dad, if you hadn’t had spiritual energy protecting you, you might have died the moment you took the first blow. You wouldn’t have been able to hold on until now.”
Tang Yue said softly as she saw the poison on the dagger.
Tang Shengkai suddenly felt a wave of fear. How could that be?
He didn't want to lose his life; he wanted to watch his daughter grow up.
Seeing that the father and daughter had been chatting for a while, Xu Hongchang on the other side shouted loudly in their direction, "Old Tang, Little Yueyue, hurry up and find the person who just shot us."
That shot had terrified them. They had been keeping a close eye on the commotion. Tang Shengkai had already thrown the gun and bullets at them.
They loaded their guns and kept a close eye on the movements on the opposite bank, but they dared not fire. Fixing bayonets was a tradition; as long as they didn't fire, Old Tang could keep maneuvering on the other side a little longer.
If they opened fire, Old Tang would definitely be riddled with bullets by those Japanese soldiers. Also, it was still dark, and after Old Tang crossed, he extinguished all the fires on the opposite bank to prevent the Japanese from seeing him. They couldn't see anything on the other side at all.
All that could be heard was the incessant shouting of battle cries. As the opposite bank gradually quieted down, they sensed that Old Tang might have won, but at the same time, a chill ran down their spines again. What if, what if the only person standing wasn't Old Tang?
Just then, a sliver of light appeared in the sky. Chen Erniu couldn't contain himself any longer. Just as he was about to shout at Old Tang on the other side of the river, a gunshot suddenly rang out from the opposite bank.
