Chapter 54 This thing is not as good as a photo stone

54

The weather was nice today, and it was also the first day of the Lunar New Year, so the atmosphere in Beijing was great. Some young people were riding bicycles along the streets. Others were strolling in twos and threes, while the couple Tang Yue noticed was taking pictures.

A girl stood sideways against a red wall, holding onto the handlebars of a bicycle. Not far away, a boy in a black coat was posing with a small black box-like object in his hand, covering one eye with it.

Not only had Tang Yue never seen anything like it before, but none of Tang Shengkai's group had either, and they were all very curious. However, they could only be curious in their hearts; they couldn't just crowd around and ask about every new thing they saw.

"Honey, let's take the bus. Daddy has never ridden one before."

Tang Yue understood; even her father didn't know what it was. But she could understand. No rush; one day she would know everything about this world.

Tang Shengkai was still carrying Tang Yue, and the group moved quickly, soon reaching the bus stop. There weren't many people waiting, and a bus arrived shortly afterward. Tang Shengkai checked the number on the ticket to confirm it was the one they needed, then boarded the bus with the child and the basket on their backs.

There weren't many people on the bus, and each of them had a seat. Tang Bei and the others were flushed with excitement. If they went back to Qiligou, they could brag about it to the village kids for a whole year.

It's a bit of a pity to think about it.

The train station wasn't far from the department store. They got off after six stops, and then towering buildings appeared before them. Their mouths gaped open, and they didn't want to close them.

This place is much more prosperous than Shenyang. It looks very upscale.

Lin Cuicui was a little timid. "Third Brother, let's go somewhere else. This place isn't suitable for us."

Tang Shengkai and Lin Cuicui felt similarly, and Old Li felt even more so; he felt he didn't even deserve to go in. Tang Bei, Tang Nan, and Tang Dong were disappointed after hearing the adults' words, but they didn't show it.

Tang Yue was a little unhappy. Why couldn't they go in?

"Dad, is there a rule that we can't go in here?"

Tang Shengkai stared into Tang Yue's eyes. He didn't know if there was such a rule, but they were just ordinary rural farmers. The things here were generally very high-end, and they simply couldn't afford them.

"Daughter, this place is not suitable for us."

Tang Yue understood their thoughts. "Mom and Dad, let's just go in and take a look. It doesn't cost anything anyway. We can just not buy anything."

Tang Bei and the other two's eyes lit up immediately. Lin Cuicui and Tang Shengkai were still weighing the pros and cons when Old Li spoke up, "Yes, Yueyue is right, let's go in and take a look."

Tang Shengkai and Lin Cuicui didn't notice anything unusual about the three boys. Old Li had been taking care of them the whole way and could naturally sense their emotional changes. Since the children wanted to go in and have a look, why couldn't they take them in if they were allowed to?

So what if it's embarrassing? They don't know anyone here anyway.

When the group arrived at the entrance, the guards completely ignored them. Old Li and the three Tang brothers were on tenterhooks as they passed by, wondering if they would be allowed to get in.

The coats the men were wearing were made of thin material, and seeing that they were convulsing, the guard asked, "Do you comrades need any help?"

Tang Shengkai felt relieved. "Is there anything I can help you with?"

The guard looked up at the baskets on their backs and said, "We have a special place to store things here. If it's inconvenient to carry them, you can store them over there."

"Oh, no need."

Tang Shengkai's vigilance reached its peak. Could there be people with ulterior motives in such a high-class shopping mall?

The guard noticed their wariness and didn't try to persuade them further. He simply reminded them, "Today is the first day of the lunar new year, and our mall only closes at 5 p.m. So please hurry if you want to buy anything."

"Okay, okay."

Tang Shengkai carried the child inside, with Lin Cuicui walking beside him. After they had walked some distance away from the guards, Lin Cuicui whispered to Tang Shengkai, "Third Brother, that person doesn't seem like a bad person."

Tang Shengkai's eyes were fixed on the items in the mall, and he unconsciously hummed in agreement.

It truly lives up to its reputation as a department store; it has everything imaginable. However, there weren't many people browsing today. The few people who did come in mostly bought beautifully packaged gift boxes and left in a hurry afterward.

Tang Yue and her group became the center of attention in the entire mall. There were many things they didn't recognize, so they walked around, stopping frequently. Sometimes, when they saw something they didn't recognize, Lin Cuicui really wanted to ask what it was.

But seeing the salesperson's disdainful look, she had no choice but to swallow her words back.

After exploring the first floor, they found that everything they recognized was extremely expensive, and they didn't know what the unfamiliar items were for. Seeing the stairs leading to the second floor, they carried their baskets up the stairs.

The sales clerks downstairs had nothing to do, so they gathered together and talked about a family of seven.

Lai Xiang had some family matters to attend to today, and there shouldn't have been many people at the counter, so she arrived a little late. As soon as she entered, she heard people talking.

“Look at the clothes those people are wearing, they seem to be made of decent material. How can they bring those shabby things in their baskets to our department store?”

"That's right. These days, you can't just judge someone by their clothes; you also have to listen to their manner of speaking. It seems some people are really good at putting on an act."

Lai Xiang went over curiously, "What are you chatting about so excitedly?"

Several female sales clerks saw her and quickly greeted her with smiles, "No, Director Lai. We were just chatting."
