"Girl, you're not lying to me, are you?"
Tang Yue shrugged. "Why don't you call Mr. Qi and ask him?"
Commander Kang glared at Tang Yue, then pointed at her and said, "Girl, are you doing this on purpose? You know perfectly well that I can't contact Mr. Qi, that's why you're saying this?"
Tang Yue immediately shook her head innocently.
Before two minutes had passed, their conversation turned to the sacrifices of Chang Yin and Tang Shengkai, and Tang Yue was very firm in her stance on the matter.
"Commander, I don't believe my father and battalion commander sacrificed their lives, so I want to go to the battlefield to see for myself."
Commander Kang's already heavy heart was struck again by Tang Yue's words, "Nonsense! How old are you? What battlefield are you going to? It's too dangerous there. Your brothers just finished their mission, and now it's your turn. I don't agree! I absolutely don't agree!"
Tang Yue hadn't asked about her three older brothers at home, assuming they were probably on the battlefield. This was now confirmed by Commander Kang. Tang Yue hadn't mentioned it because she didn't want her mother to worry. However, she wasn't actually that worried about Tang Bei and the others.
“My brothers have already gone to the battlefield, so it’s perfect that I need to go there to find them. They’re still so young and have no combat experience, I definitely won’t feel comfortable letting them go by themselves, so please let me go?”
Commander Kang stared at Tang Yue without saying a word. After a long while, she looked into Tang Yue's eyes and asked, word by word, "Did you already have this thought before you came back?"
Tang Yue nodded. Commander Kang received an affirmative answer, but showed no joy. "Little girl, the battlefield is extremely dangerous, and it's disadvantageous for you. I understand how you feel, but this is not the time for you to be willful. The chances of mistaken identity on the battlefield are slim, so you..."
Tang Yue didn't give Commander Kang a chance to continue, "Commander, I still stand by what I said, I don't believe my father and battalion commander are dead, so I must go to the battlefield to see for myself. Whether it's to confirm the bodies or to avenge them, I absolutely have to go."
"Is there no room for maneuver?"
Tang Yue shook her head. "Commander Kang, you know you can't stop me. So, whether you agree or not, I'll go."
Commander Kang leaned back weakly in his chair, then stared intently into Tang Yue's eyes. "Are you really sure Chang Yin and Tang Shengkai aren't dead?"
Before Tang Yue could answer, Commander Kang continued, "What made your judgment?"
“I calculated it! I didn’t foresee that their destinies had disappeared, so they must still be alive.”
Commander Kang...
Is it something you can just say to anyone? Luckily, he was the only one who heard it.
"You are not allowed to say this to a third person except me. Do you know how dangerous that is?"
Tang Yue didn't care. "Commander, do you spend all your time in the office? Do you rarely go back to your family quarters?"
"What do you mean? What would an old man like me do if I didn't go home?"
Tang Yue nodded slightly, indicating that she understood. She'd go back to Commander Kang's house and leave some more things; the old man lives alone here, it's really rough.
"Oh, by the way, I brought back a lot of supplies from Russia. I see that the people on our southern islands aren't doing too well. Should we provide them with support in the name of the military?"
Commander Kang almost couldn't catch his breath. Had this girl become so blatant now? Was she no longer hiding anything? And what support could they possibly offer the people?
"Girl, do you know what you're saying?"
Tang Yue blinked her big eyes, "I know! Commander, I have some! I've already left quite a lot in Kyoto. Mr. Qi also said he wants to set up several supply points across the country, which will save on transportation and make distribution much easier."
Since things have come to this, we might as well set up a base on the southern island. We don't need too many, just enough for the southern island's military and civilians to eat and drink.
Commander, this is a small matter. You don't need to ask Mr. Qi for instructions, do you?
However, you still need to choose a good location; there's too much stuff, two people definitely can't keep an eye on it.
Commander Kang was so shocked he couldn't close his mouth, and this wasn't the end of it.
"Commander, you'd better hurry. Didn't they say that some troops are going to the border country the day after tomorrow? I'm planning to take the men from the Fourth Company who want to go to the battlefield and leave at that time. If you're not ready, then I'll just leave."
Commander Kang understood, but he would still submit the necessary report. It was fine as long as the little girl didn't know.
"Okay, I'll tell you where to put it tomorrow. The supercomputer and 'Kemi' are almost finished at the research lab, don't you want to go take a look?"
Tang Yue shook her head. "I'm not going. Since they've done a good job, there's nothing I need to help with. I want to stay home and keep my mom company."
Commander Kang understood. "Alright then, come to the division headquarters again tomorrow morning, rest at home in the afternoon, and then leave with the main force the day after tomorrow."
Little Yueyue, the battlefield is unlike any other place; bullets have no eyes, so you must be extra careful in everything you do.
"Yes, Commander Kang, I understand."
When Tang Yue got home, she saw Old Li standing at the door, looking out and waiting for her. Her heart warmed, and a smile played on her lips. This was home; it was always so good to be home.
"Grandpa, I'm back."
Old Li heard this and quickly waved to him.
Once inside the courtyard, Lin Cuicui was sitting at the round table with Xixi in her arms, waiting for her. Tang Yue then remembered something.
"Grandpa, Mom, didn't a grandmother named Qin Diao bring three children to South Island? Shouldn't they have come with my eldest and second eldest brothers?"
At this point, Tang Yue could clearly sense that Old Li's expression was somewhat unnatural, while Lin Cuicui's face was full of smiles.
