Tang Yue stood in the shadow of the bushes, her body blending seamlessly with her surroundings, as if she were a natural part of the forest. Her eyes were slightly narrowed, and her consciousness, like an invisible net, silently spread through the mountains and forests.
Her consciousness traveled through dense forests and across winding streams, finally settling on a group of people dressed in camouflage.
These people, like trees in the mountains, remained quietly in their respective places. Tang Yue took in her surroundings. If she went another ten miles, she would be within their detection range.
These people looked no different from Chinese people, crouching on the ground or hiding in tree branches. Tang Yue intuitively felt that these people were not of her kind.
Passing by these people, my consciousness continued forward and spotted several moving figures. These people moved nimbly and cautiously, tapping and striking the ground with tools in their hands, seemingly searching for something.
Listening to their voices, Tang Yue frowned slightly. She could tell that what these people were saying was exactly the same as the spies she had encountered in Qiligou. A cold glint flashed in her eyes; she knew these were also intruders with ill intentions.
Damn it, when will these people ever stop? Tang Yue's first thought was that these people might have found out about their family and followed them here.
But she immediately dismissed the idea. They looked like they were looking for something.
Tang Yue wanted to get closer to see what they were looking for, and only by getting closer could she react in time. Thinking of the lookouts outside, she knew those dark gun barrels on their hands were no joke.
Although Tang Yue felt she could dodge the attacks, the sound of gunfire would inevitably alert the villagers below the mountain. Tang Yue didn't want to involve innocent villagers.
Suddenly she remembered that she had already reached the fourth level of Qi Refining, so she could try the Invisibility Technique. Without hesitation, Tang Yue recited the Invisibility Technique and her figure became transparent.
She approached the people lying in ambush on the outskirts silently, moving swiftly like a ghost in the forest, without making a sound.
Tang Yue stood in front of the first spy in charge of reconnaissance. The spy didn't seem to notice anything; his eyes and movements remained unchanged. Tang Yue was relieved.
She had already prepared her starting hand gestures. After all, she had never used magic before and didn't know if it would work on these people. She hadn't expected it to be so effective.
Knowing that these people wouldn't make any moves for the time being, Tang Yue ignored them and walked straight inside. She reached the group of people who had been conducting the exploration within minutes.
Their movements were skillful and their division of labor was clear, indicating they had undergone rigorous training. She noticed that the tools they used were very advanced; she wondered if China had them.
The things in her head were starting to get restless. Tang Yue was speechless. What were they in such a hurry for? These things were all good; she wouldn't let them mess around.
Also, two of the machines are quite large; even if she could get them from these people, she couldn't take them all at once. Sigh, Tang Yue thought again of her old storage bags and such.
"Have you found the entrance?" (Japanese) A man who appeared to be the leader asked in a low voice, his voice tinged with urgency.
"Not yet, the terrain here is more complicated than we expected." (in Japanese) A spy in charge of exploration replied, his eyes scanning the instruments in his hands, his brow furrowed.
"That's right. The colonel gave the order that it was hidden extremely well, otherwise so many people wouldn't have been alerted." (Japanese) The man who seemed to be the leader became smug.
Tang Yue couldn't understand what these people were saying, but she was certain they were looking for something important.
Tang Yue's eyes darkened. These people were truly unscrupulous. Tang Yue was enraged by them; what kind of people were they?
She knew she had to stop these people, but since they knew there was something here, she might as well let them help her find it. Since they were already here, she might as well let them use their labor.
Thinking of the hidden spies, there must be at least thirty of them, plus the eight people exploring here, Tang Yue's eyes grew even colder.
They were so close to the Chinese troops, and these people just brazenly came over, completely disregarding China. How is this any different from provoking her sect?
Tang Yue quickly left the vicinity; she needed to contact Chang Yin. So many people coming to China must be plotting something significant. She couldn't understand their language, so she wanted Chang Yin to take them back for questioning.
After walking for 30 li (approximately 15 kilometers), Tang Yue gradually began to spot animal tracks. Could these people be attracted to wild animals? Tang Yue didn't pay attention; she looked up at the birds on the branches.
Upon closer inspection, Tang Yue chuckled. It was an old acquaintance! She'd used this little bird to deliver a message to Chang Yin last time. The bird seemed to recognize her, fluttering its wings and landing on Tang Yue's shoulder.
Tang Yue smiled and stroked the little bird's head, channeling some spiritual energy into it. Then she wanted the little bird to help her deliver a message.
Tang Yue looked around, somewhat speechless. There was no paper. What was she supposed to use to write? She used to use jade slips for communication; she really didn't have the habit of carrying paper and pen with her at all times here.
Suddenly, Tang Yue thought of those spies. Among them, there was one carrying a tan crossbody bag, which happened to contain paper, which Tang Yue had just inadvertently seen.
I greeted the little bird, "Let me give you a name. You have a black spot on your wing, so I'll call you Black Spot from now on, okay?"
The little bird chirped a few times, and Tang Yue...
This little bird is quite intelligent.
"Haha, okay, you stay here, Black Dot, I'll come back for you. Fly up the tree, don't get caught."
