Tang Yue was strolling leisurely through the fields, her gaze occasionally sweeping over the working farmers. Suddenly, she heard someone call Qiu Zi's name, and Tang Yue's curiosity was immediately piqued.
She remembered that the people sent by Hatoyama Yuzan were also looking for a woman named Akiko. Tang Yue couldn't help but look in that direction.
She was a woman of elegant bearing, appearing to be around twenty-seven or twenty-eight years old, with delicate features. Her skin, tanned from years of hard work, shimmered with a healthy hue, glowing beautifully in the sunlight.
A pair of bright eyes, like clear spring water, revealing simplicity and liveliness, occasionally flashing with focused light as she carefully tends to the crops before her.
Despite her simple attire and actions that were no different from those of ordinary farmers, Tang Yue could tell at a glance that this woman was very different from other rural women.
She was dressed in traditional clothing typical of rural Japanese women in the 1960s: a loose-fitting cotton kimono in simple, understated colors that conveyed a sense of quiet composure.
She wore a cloth apron over her kimono, with simple patterns that, while not elaborate, added a touch of everyday life to her look.
She wore a simple headscarf, with a few strands of hair escaping from under it and swaying gently in the wind, which made her look even more like a mature woman.
Since arriving in Japan, Tang Yue had never seriously looked at any other woman. The woman before her looked different from the others.
A thought suddenly struck her: she felt that the woman before her might be the key figure she had been searching for—the woman who had a past with Hatoyama Yuzan.
Intuition told her that this woman named Akiko would be a crucial breakthrough for her to get closer to the Hatoyama family and uncover the truth. Destroying the Hatoyama family would be easy for Tang Yue, but she didn't want to simply let them perish.
She wanted to completely bring the Hatoyama family down from its pedestal. Therefore, she needed to uncover all of the Hatoyama family's secrets so that their downfall wouldn't seem so abrupt and wouldn't raise suspicions about China.
Tang Yue already has her own plan, and this plan will likely require Qiu Zi's help. To achieve her goal, she must first get to know Qiu Zi better, including her personality, preferences, and current living situation.
Only by knowing yourself and your enemy can you strike decisively when you meet Hatoyama Yuzan and achieve the desired result.
Tang Yue smiled slightly and walked briskly toward Qiu Zi.
Before Tang Yue even got close, a man dressed as a farmer walked up to Qiu Zi and took her hand. "Qiu Zi, why are you working again? I've told you, I can do the work in the fields, you don't need to do this. Go home quickly. You'll get sunburned."
Also, aren't you afraid of getting a tan?
Akiko straightened up. "Teppei, it's okay. I want to help you so you can do less and go home sooner."
The two gazed at each other tenderly. Tang Yue's first impression was that they had a very good relationship. The woman who had called Qiu Zi earlier had already walked over, "Oh dear, I know you two have a good relationship, but you should also be mindful of your surroundings."
"Oh dear, really. Akiko, let's go home together. Your husband Teppei doesn't let you do any chores anyway. It's getting late, we can go home and cook."
Qiu Zi blushed and glanced at Zhe Ping, her hand already subtly withdrawing. "Okay, sister-in-law, I'm coming."
"Zheping, I'm going home now. Shall we have pork bone noodles for dinner?"
"Yes, I like to eat anything that Akiko makes."
Akiko, her face beaming, followed the farmer's wife home. Miyazaki Teppei watched Akiko's figure disappear into the distance, and when Akiko could no longer see his expression, he composed himself and continued with his farm work.
Tang Yue tilted her head and thought for a moment. Could she have been wrong? However, Tang Yue didn't dwell on it and quickly chased after Qiu Zi.
Tang Yue looked down at her clothes. Yes, she was definitely a country girl. Making sure her face was dirty, she quickly ran to Qiu Zi's side and politely said, "Excuse me, do you know how to get to the nearest town? I think I'm lost."
As she spoke, a perfectly measured look of bewilderment crossed her face, making people feel an instant sense of closeness to her.
Hearing the voice, Qiu Zi looked up and saw that although Tang Yue's face was a little dirty, she still had a smile on her face. She smiled back and kindly gave her directions.
While Qiu Zi spoke, Tang Yue listened attentively while subtly observing her every move. She noticed that Qiu Zi spoke slowly and softly, each word spoken with great patience, leading Tang Yue to conclude that Qiu Zi was a gentle person.
To further connect with Qiu Zi, Tang Yue continued, "You seem to know this place very well. I see you're busy with farm work; you must take excellent care of these crops. My mother is always bad at farming; you're really amazing."
Upon hearing this, Qiu Zi's eyes lit up with a smile, and a hint of shyness flashed across her face. She nodded gently and said, "I only do ordinary farm work and don't know much. I'm not worthy of your prize."
The farmer's wife nudged Qiu Zi's arm gently with her own. "Oh, Qiu Zi, you're too modest. Your flowers are so beautiful. And every time I see you working in the fields, I envy the crops."
How could they be so easily tended by your skillful hands? They'd be doing you a disservice if they didn't receive plenty of food.
