Extra Chapter 28
Tang Yue saw from the information she received from the United States that the US hadn't been idle for a single day, and had recently developed quite a few weapons. She'd heard that China's weaponry was constantly advancing, so they dared not slacken their efforts at all.
Her big eyes darted around. "Perfect timing! I can ask the battalion commander what kind he likes, and she can bring him back a lot. Hehe, that's what I'll do!"
Tang Yue immediately messaged Chang Yin, who was on the plane with his men, devising a battle plan. He had a simplified world map, and they were figuring out how to land in the United States.
Although their aviation system is currently paralyzed, it doesn't mean they can fly there directly. Chang Yin believes the safest way is to go to the border of the Chukeqi National Autonomous Region and then take a boat from there.
However, traversing the entire Chukeqi Autonomous Region was also a problem. Everyone was considering this issue; landing by sea was also difficult, and they would certainly be expelled as soon as they reached US waters.
Just as everyone was struggling to come up with a solution, Chang Yin sensed something amiss with the transmitter. "You guys keep discussing, I need to take care of something."
After speaking, Chang Yin walked to the side, drew the curtain, took out the transmitter, translated the message, and smiled helplessly. Just then, he thought of a problem and immediately sent a message to Tang Yue.
"Can you control US waters? In a way that prevents them from detecting us for the time being?"
Upon receiving the message, Tang Yue immediately knew that Chang Yin was coming. This was good, as she was short-handed; if Chang Yin took people with her, there would be no one to keep an eye on things in the US.
This is much farther than Japan, and she doesn't want to travel there frequently. She needs to make sure the trip is worthwhile. Tang Yue immediately messaged Chang Yin. She remembered that Chang Yin's ring should contain images of American warships.
To ensure their safe travel, she placed several warships in each person's ring, just in case of emergencies. Tang Yue also thought of the Second Capital Strait in Japan, where her people were now stationed, making it the most suitable place for the battalion commander and his men to come from there.
Tang Yue quickly replied to Chang Yin's message. Chang Yin smiled; Yueyue really knew how to handle things. Everyone immediately implemented Chang Yin's newly devised plan.
Tang Yue lay on the bed calculating the time. The battalion commander had been here for about half a month. She couldn't stay here forever, could she? Oh well, she should go out and gather the Chinese experts first. That would save the battalion commander and the others some time.
Tang Yue stepped out of the hotel and onto the pedestrian street when a man in a beige trench coat and glasses caught her eye. "Wow!" Tang Yue pulled down her glasses and stared wide-eyed to confirm.
The man walked up to Tang Yue in a few steps. "What? Don't you recognize me?"
Tang Yue hadn't expected to run into him here. Hmm, it seemed their chances of meeting always happened overseas. Looking around, Tang Yue simply cast an invisibility spell on them, then quickly pulled the man to an open space.
"Why did you come to the US? It's been so chaotic there these past few days. You're really brave."
Gu Yanxi shrugged indifferently, "You still dare to talk about me? Little Yueyue, tell me, do you have a crush on me?" Gu Yanxi bent down and stared intently into Tang Yue's eyes. Seeing Tang Yue's eyes widen in disbelief, as if she thought, "You're right?" Gu Yanxi straightened up.
"In fact, I also think it's impossible. After all, we meet far too infrequently. Even if I am handsome and dashing, you spend every day with Chang Yin, so your feelings for me should be more complicated."
Before Tang Yue could finish rolling her eyes, Gu Yanxi stared at her intently again, "But why is it that every time I arrive in that country, you follow right after? And that's not all, every time I have to temporarily interrupt my mission to take on the task of protecting you."
Tang Yue's tone was icy, "So, you don't want to protect me?"
Gu Yanxi looked heartbroken. "The key is, I want to protect you, but you have to give me a chance! Ms. Tang Yue, can you give me that chance? Or to put it more bluntly, Comrade Tang Yue, do you need me?"
Tang Yue pouted, "I didn't give you the mission, so getting angry at me won't do any good. Besides, is protecting me embarrassing for you?"
Gu Yanxi remained silent, clearly indicating that it wasn't about losing face. He simply had no face to lose. Because, in every mission like this, he won effortlessly. Yet, he couldn't get over the mental hurdle.
"Alright, alright, find a way to apply to your superiors and say that I don't need your protection at all, and you can continue with your mission."
Gu Yanxi looked at Tang Yue with a cold expression, "I can't do my own mission anymore."
Tang Yue blinked in confusion, while Gu Yanxi closed his eyes helplessly. "You've finished my task."
Tang Yue.......
She glanced at Gu Yanxi sheepishly, then smiled ingratiatingly at him, "Hehe, sorry. I didn't mean to. But, can you tell me what your mission is?"
Gu Yanxi looked down at Tang Yue, "Did you collect all the research institute's data?"
Tang Yue blinked her big eyes and nodded innocently. "I didn't know you wanted this. But it's okay, are you going back to China now? Then I'll give you all these documents, you can take them all back with you."
Gu Yanxi leaned lazily against a stone pillar, his right foot raised and poking it against the pillar. "The aviation system is paralyzed now. I heard that all the computers in the US that you turn on just show a veiled skull."
"Tell me, how should I leave?"
Tang Yue feigned a sigh, "That's really difficult. It seems that every mission you undertake is quite challenging. So, why don't you just give up?"
Gu Yanxi was so angry he laughed. "Tang Yue, I'm really impressed with you. But I'm not in a hurry. My current mission is to protect you. Whenever you want to go back to China, I'll naturally go back with you."
Tang Yue frowned; she didn't want to have a tagalong. "Can you tell me who your boss is? I want to ask him why he's so free!"
Tang Yue walked forward irritably, with Gu Yanxi following closely behind. Tang Yue had no choice but to return to the hotel; it was too unsafe to have Gu Yanxi with her.
"Why aren't you doing any more missions?"
Tang Yue didn't answer. The two went back to the hotel together. Once in the room, Tang Yue looked at Gu Yanxi seriously and told him everything that the United States had done to the Chinese experts.
Gu Yanxi's eyes were dark and deep. "So, you want to take them all back to China." It wasn't a question, but a statement. She wasn't unfamiliar with doing this; it was just that this place was more dangerous.
Tang Yue nodded. "Why not? They are our compatriots too. Now that you're here, I'll save half the effort. So, let's begin our journey through America today."
