Chapter 3 The Cat Tilts Its Head

The servants began to whisper amongst themselves, but they all kept their voices down. This was the Horn Palace, and the Palace Master preferred quiet. The servants only dared to speak in hushed tones, and this was only during the time the Palace Master was away.

They wouldn't normally dare to talk here.

The reason the servants didn't get to pet the cat was because the cat was just an empty shell at the time. It was extremely timid and would run away at the slightest disturbance. The servants both liked it and felt a little resentful towards it.

As soon as Gong Yuanzheng entered the door, he saw a dozen or so people gathered together, chattering away. It was quite annoying. His brother preferred quiet, and if it weren't for his brother's absence, things wouldn't be like this now.

"!"

"Young Master Zheng!"

Some servants shuddered and hissed when they heard Gong Yuanzheng's name. Everyone knew that the master of the Zheng Palace was young but a master of poison. In this palace, the only one who could make Young Master Zheng obey was Young Master Jiao.

"Young Master Zheng!" Upon hearing the servants mention Young Master Zheng, Maomao immediately turned her head and ran to Gong Yuanzheng's side to examine him closely. The young man was dressed in black, simple yet stylish. His clothes had no elaborate decorations, yet they still exuded an indescribable nobility.

The headband on her forehead was embroidered with intricate patterns in black thread, and a pure white gemstone was placed in the center, adding a touch of nobility to the wearer.

The boy exuded arrogance; his eyes were deep and resolute; a hint of annoyance lingered on his face; and two strands of hair hung loosely from his chest.

What's most eye-catching are the bells hanging from the ends of his hair; although they are just simple metal ornaments, they exude a unique charm.

Gong Yuanzheng is so handsome, especially his haughty expression, which is a bit like a cool and aloof cat!

Gong Yuanzheng's body stiffened. He seemed to hear some strange sounds. The servants in front of him would never say such things in front of him, and besides, the soft and sweet voices were obviously not theirs.

[Huh? What's he doing?] The cat was puzzled. She saw Gong Yuanzheng standing blankly in the distance, so she took a few steps closer. Who wouldn't want to observe their favorite person up close? Besides, she was just a cat who wasn't moving at all.

Even if Gong Yuanzheng is a madman, he shouldn't have laid a hand on such an adorable cat... right?

The sound rang in his ears again. Gong Yuanzheng observed carefully for a few moments and then looked down. What came into view was a pure white cat, its entire body as white as snowflakes.

Cat noticed Gong Yuanzheng staring at her, tilted her head, and looked puzzled. "Little Kou, why is he staring at me like that?"

"It must be because An'an, you're just too beautiful that he fell for you." Xiao Kou had absolute confidence in his An'an's looks; his An'an was the cutest creature in the world, bar none.

Upon hearing the new words, he was now certain that he could hear the inner thoughts of the jade ruler before him, and that the jade ruler was unaware that he could hear it. Gong Yuanzheng's eyes were filled with undisguised joy.

He had developed a strong interest in the little cutie. Gong Yuanzheng slowly squatted down, stretched out his hands to the cat, and said, "Come here."

Now it was the cat's turn to be confused. [Was he talking to me?]

It seems so.

She seems to have done nothing, but what's going on now?

Seeing the joy on Gong Yuanzheng's face, Maomao boldly and obediently walked towards him. The servants who were pretending to clean all secretly glanced in their direction, watching Maomao obediently walk towards Young Master Zheng.

They were utterly devastated; all their deception over the years had been less effective than a single word from Young Master Zheng.
