Chapter 5 Binding Li Lianhua

"You want to follow me, right? If so, please nod?" Li Lianhua asked the Red Fox, pretending not to know anything.

The next second, the red fox nodded in agreement. Li Lianhua, seeing its expectant yet nervous expression, pretended to ponder for a moment, which only enraged the red fox. "What are you thinking about! With such a beautiful and affectionate little fox like me, what do you need to think about?!"

This remark almost made Li Lianhua laugh. Was he praising her or something else? She couldn't afford to anger the little fox, lest she end up losing more than she gained.

Just from listening to its conversation with the unknown creature, Li Lianhua could tell that it wasn't the only option for a meal ticket. He couldn't hear the other side's dialogue, but based on the content of their conversation, he could roughly deduce about 60-70% of what was going on.

"Alright. But little guy, you can see I have nothing here. You might suffer a bit if you follow me, so be prepared." Li Lianhua gently tapped the red fox's head a few times.

His hands were beautiful, with distinct joints and long, slender stems, like lustrous, translucent white jade, just like him—like white clouds floating in the sky, impossible to grasp.

"Fox spirit, from now on, the little fox is also a member of Lotus Pavilion. You mustn't bully her!" Li Lianhua shouted at the fox spirit who was still depressed in the doghouse.

The fox spirit's ears perked up, then quickly drooped down. Who's really going to bully whom?

Li Lianhua thought for a moment: since you're now a member of the family, you should have your own name. It's not good to always call you Little Fox. "What name should I give you?"

"I'm a girl, I don't want a name like a fox spirit's!" Red Fox protested vehemently. If her name was even remotely similar to a fox spirit's, she'd rather find another long-term meal ticket. A fox spirit might be a bit much, but she wasn't a real fox!

The key question is, if this name is ever uttered, what's the difference between that and being publicly executed?

Li Lianhua thought the little fox might be a beauty-loving fox; why did she not want the name "fox spirit" when it sounded so nice?

"How about you take my surname? My name is Li Lianhua, and yours is... Li Lianxin, how about that?" Li Lianhua thought for a while, and the only names that came close to his were Lianxin (lotus heart) and Lianpeng (lotus pod), which are related to flowers.

The name "Lotus Seedpod" sounds like a man's name, while "Lotus Heart" is clearly a woman's name.

That's settled. The name of the red fox will be Li Lianxin.

[Name: Li Lianxin, Bound Person: Li Lianhua]

【success! 】

【\(^o^)/~, Binding successful!】Red Fox... no, Li Lianxin cheered. This time it's really a bound account, and there's no need to worry about Li Lianhua changing his mind.

Before Li Lianhua heard Li Lianxin's joyful voice, he seemed to hear the sound of a lock being put on, crisp, loud, and quick. If he hadn't known that he would hear the little fox say "binding successful" the next second, he would have thought it was just his imagination.

With everything resolved, Li Lianhua decided to finish the meal she had prepared, as it had all been bought with money and couldn't be wasted.

But what should Lianxin eat? Li Lianhua quickly swept the food off the table, swiftly washed the dishes and chopsticks, and prepared to take Lianxin out to find something to eat. Thinking that the fox spirit hadn't eaten and was still holed up in her den...

She couldn't show favoritism; they were both family members, and she couldn't let the fox spirit think she was unlikable. "Fox spirit, time to go out." Li Lianhua knocked on the fox spirit's doghouse. After a short while, the fox spirit slowly crawled out, looking at the real fox sitting next to Li Lianhua with a bit of guilt.

It's all Li Lianhua's fault! Thinking this, the fox spirit wagged her tail frantically, barking ingratiatingly at Li Lianhua, "Woof woof!" 'It's all Li Lianhua's fault, he gave me this name, you can't blame me!'

Li Lianxin stared speechlessly at the fox spirit wagging its tail in front of her, rolled her eyes with a rather flamboyant gesture, and said "Aww" "I know," Li Lianxin replied perfunctorily.

But the fox spirit couldn't tell; she was content as long as the real fox in front of her wasn't angry with her.

Li Lianxin herself didn't understand what being called a fox spirit had to do with her, a real fox. Anyway, she didn't have that lousy name, and this fox spirit was acting all guilty—what was it up to?

Li Lianhua didn't give them a chance to bicker or anything else happen. She picked up Li Lianxin and headed towards the woods ahead. The fox spirit, seeing this, followed behind them, feeling indignant.

Why is it that we're both animals, yet Li Lianxin gets such a lovely name and a loving hug from her owner, while I only get a dog walking behind me!

This is so unfair! Just because she's a real fox, beautiful, and has a lovely voice, does that mean she's not fair?

Li Lianhua: You've already given your reasons.
