Chapter 6 Welcome Brother Home

"Ruanruan, your brother is coming back today!" Gong Yuanzheng held Ruanruan between his front paws and lifted her into the air, his words filled with joy.

"Oh, it's not certain whether he'll really be back this time." It's been almost half a month since she arrived at the palace. She's heard Gong Yuanzheng say this every day for the past few days, but it's always been due to delays on the road.

It's just that there's been a delay. At first, Gong Ruanruan was incredibly enthusiastic about the Second Young Master Gong, hoping he would come back to see her, but she hasn't seen him yet.

"This time he's really back. It's all my fault. Brother Zhiren was almost in the Old Dust Valley when a letter sent him away again. I didn't even have a chance to see him."

Gong Yuanzheng looks like a little pufferfish right now, all puffed up with anger.

"Young Master Zheng, Young Master Jiao has already arrived at Old Dust Valley."

"Brother is back!"

"Meow~!" [The handsome and wealthy Second Young Master Gong is finally back!]

'That's because my brother is handsome and rich, hmph~'

Gong Yuanzheng held Gong Ruanruan tightly in his arms and ran quickly toward the entrance of the palace gate. He was so fast that he almost used his lightness skill. The wind blew over his fur. At this moment, Gong Shangjiao did not know that this time when he returned home, not only was his younger brother Yuanzheng waiting for him, but also an adorable raccoon dog.

The guards behind him couldn't keep up with his speed at all and were left far behind.

"Ruanruan, you have to be good when you see your brother, or you'll be punished by not being allowed to eat today."

Gong Yuanzheng stood at the palace gate entrance, idly stroking her fur. Hearing his words, Gong Ruanruan in his arms rolled her eyes. Please, she was just a cat who didn't understand anything.

During this time, Gong Yuanzheng had come to understand Bai Ruanruan's personality. Taking advantage of his affection for her, he acted arrogantly in both the Zheng Palace and the Jiao Palace. No one but him was allowed to hold her, or they would be greeted with caresses of her little paws.

Moreover, she has become increasingly arrogant. If you make her angry, she will turn her head away, leaving him with only her back view. The key is that it takes a long time to coax her.

In modern terms, this cat is so arrogant and cocky.

Anyway, the servants in the Conquest Palace and the Horn Palace looked at this cat and the more they looked at it, the more they felt that it resembled the young master Conquest, especially the way it looked at people and its little temperament. It was no longer as innocent and obedient as it was at the beginning.

The palace gates opened, and Gong Shangjiao rode his horse through. The first thing he saw was Gong Yuanzheng standing not far away, anxiously waiting for his return. The coldness and indifference in Gong Shangjiao's eyes melted away in an instant, replaced by tenderness.

The horse walked up to Gong Yuanzheng, felt the reins tighten, and stopped.

"Brother" Gong Yuanzheng stood on the ground, looking up at Gong Shangjiao riding on the horse. His eyes were bright and his smile was full of joy.

"Meow~" [Welcome Gong Er home!]

His gaze shifted downwards, and he saw the little creature in his younger brother Yuanzheng's arms, its head raised and meowing at him, as if welcoming him home.

Gong Shangjiao dismounted and looked at Gong Ruanruan, asking, "Yuanzheng, what is this...?" This raccoon is quite adorable, but he remembered that there were none in the palace. Zhi Ren and the elders shouldn't keep them. Could it be Gong Ziyu? But Gong Ziyu rarely interacts with them, and Yuanzheng probably wouldn't accept the raccoon he gave him.

When Gong Ruanruan was mentioned, Gong Yuanzheng happily picked her up and presented her to Gong Shangjiao like a treasure, "Brother, this is my pet cat, Gong Ruanruan, Ruanruan, this is your brother."

"Meow~" [Brother, hello~]

Looking into her eyes, Gong Shangjiao noticed they were a rare blue, as clear and bright as seawater. Seeing the smile on Gong Yuanzheng's face, Gong Shangjiao realized for the first time that since he often left the palace, perhaps he should have found a raccoon dog to accompany him long ago.

"Hello Ruanruan, I'm Brother Shangjiao." Gong Shangjiao reached out and stroked Gong Ruanruan's fluffy little head, which reminded him for the first time of his childhood, when his parents and younger brother Lang were still alive.

Jin Fu, standing to the side, didn't know whether to leave or stay, so he could only stand there awkwardly, trying to minimize his presence. It was the first time he had ever seen such an... interesting side of the young master.

Just as Gong Shangjiao was about to pull his hand back, he heard a "Meow~" sound. Gong Ruanruan nudged her still-open hand and cried out, "Brother's hand is so warm, touch it again, touch it again!"

"This is?"

"Brother, let's go back first. You must be tired from the journey. Let's go back to the Horn Palace to rest."

Gong Yuanzheng forcefully turned Gong Ruanruan around, making her stare at him with her little tiger teeth showing. Confused, Gong Ruanruan softly asked, "What's wrong? Is something the matter?"

Seeing the expedition like this, he couldn't help but chuckle.
