Chapter 17 Qin Po

Most of the paths up the mountain are narrow trails, which is one reason why it's impossible to reach the Lotus Pavilion. Another reason is that the mountain paths are winding, bumpy, and uneven, which is why the fox spirit helped pull the cart...

It doesn't seem like it's impossible!

"They say you raise a dog for a thousand days, but only use it for one! The fox spirit is counting on you; when they grow up, you'll have plenty to eat too!" Li Lianhua patted the fox spirit's head to encourage her. He found a lighter box to put the chicks in, so the fox spirit could pull it.

Luckily, Li Lianxin didn't buy many, only about ten birds plus the hen. The total weight wasn't even as much as the fox spirit's. The fox spirit really wanted to roll her eyes! But her ancestor was still here.

Most importantly, it doesn't dare to go out of its way to offend them!

The fox spirit and her dog pulled a suitcase, while Li Lianhua led them along. They arrived at Yunju Pavilion without any major troubles.

Li Lianxin stood far away. If she accidentally triggered the trap, her small body, which knew no martial arts, would be riddled with bullets. The fox spirit was already exhausted and lying on the ground with its tongue lolling out. Although Li Lianhua had helped her along the way, the weight was still on the back of the dog.

"Master's wife! Your disciple Xiangyi requests an audience!" Li Lianhua called out to the inside. After a short while, footsteps could be heard from inside, followed by the opening of the main door.

Granny Qin came out and immediately recognized Li Lianhua. She had heard Xiangyi's voice from outside the door while she was inside. Although the person in front of her didn't look like Xiangyi, she was still her own child.

No matter how much she changes, how could she not recognize her?

"Xiangyi! It's you back!" Granny Qin was overjoyed. She had been waiting on Yunyin Mountain. Since the old man passed away, she had stopped going down the mountain, but she couldn't rest easy, so she had been waiting here. She thought that one day Xiangyi would come back, and she had finally waited for him!

"Master's wife, this is my... sworn sister, her name is... Li Lianxin." Li Lianhua introduced her to Granny Qin, her words indeed fragmented.

On the surface, she is said to be a sworn sister, but how could Granny Qin not see that the blushing look in her eyes was exactly the same as her old man's when he was young? This girl is probably Xiang Yi's sweetheart, after all, isn't that what the name means?

This girl is pretty and delicate. Just by standing there without saying a word, she can make people unable to look away. No wonder Xiang Yi fell in love with her.

"Master's wife!" Li Lianxin called out to Granny Qin with a bright smile as soon as Li Lianhua introduced her.

"Oh! Good girl, come in quickly!" Granny Qin stepped forward and took Li Lianxin's hand, her smile never stopping for a moment. She pulled Li Lianxin inside, completely ignoring Li Lianhua and the fox spirit behind them.

Li Lianhua smiled helplessly, led the fox spirit into the courtyard, and arranged the chicks according to her memory. The fox spirit, relieved of her burden, went to find a place to stay by herself.

After Li Lianhua finished arranging everything, he discovered that his master's wife and Lianxin were talking about his childhood. He blushed with embarrassment. How could his master's wife talk about his embarrassing childhood stories? It made him lose face.

"Master's wife!"

"Alright, alright, Master's wife understands, I won't say anymore." Granny Qin said with a smile, but she was a little sad. Since the old man left, she had been all alone in Yunju Pavilion and had no one to talk to.

Knowing Li Lianhua's condition, Qin Po said to Li Lianxin, "Lianxin, you must be tired. Xiangyi is still standing there, so hurry up and take everyone to rest."

Both of them were intelligent and knew what Granny Qin wanted to say. Li Lianhua took Lianxin to his original residence in Yunju Pavilion, settled him in, and then returned to Granny Qin's place.

"Xiangyi! Why haven't you returned all these years? And you've been poisoned by the Jade Tea! Let your master's wife take a look!" Granny Qin was very agitated. Xiangyi hadn't returned for so many years; she had almost assumed it was due to the war in the East Sea.

She knew very little, only that Li Xiangyi had fallen into the sea and disappeared, and there had been no trace of him ever since.

During my conversation with Lianxin just now, I learned that Li Lianhua has been poisoned by Bicha, which is the most potent poison in the world!

Li Lianhua had long known that Lianxin would tell his master's wife about this, and he had been secretly inquiring about him the whole way. In reality, it was just for show; they were all family, and there was nothing to hide. The key point was that he knew less than half of what Lianxin knew.

Whether you hide it or not makes absolutely no difference.

Li Lianhua immediately comforted his master's wife, "Don't worry, master, I already know the antidote!"

After calming down Granny Qin, Li Lianhua explained why he hadn't returned back then: "After I recovered from my injuries, I came back, but when I learned that my master had passed away, I was too ashamed to even step inside."

Granny Qin was furious. Just because of this incident, she didn't dare to go inside and ventured out alone. Coupled with the burden she carried, Granny Qin felt extremely sorry for her. "You silly child, is this why you don't dare to go back to Yunyin Mountain?"

"Your disciple is unfilial, causing him such distress," Li Lianhua said, lowering his head and not daring to look at his master's wife. He knew that even if his master's wife didn't blame him, he couldn't get over the hurdle in his heart.
