Chapter 20 A Good Hunter

Li Lianxin squatted down and opened the box, which contained a bunch of odds and ends of personal weapons and hidden weapons.

Li Lianxin pursed her lips and said casually, "What are they? They're all weapons, and broken ones at that." She then moved her body to the side to make sure Li Lianhua could see what was inside.

When Li Lianhua saw the broken weapons, her expression instantly turned serious. She squatted down, reached out, and picked up one of the short swords. These things were not broken naturally; they were all broken by human hands.

"What's wrong? What's so interesting about this?" Li Lianxin pretended to be curious as she looked at the short sword in his hand, then flipped through the pile of broken weapons on top, vaguely revealing the name Li Xiangyi.

How could Li Lianhua not see it? Suddenly, he reached out and pulled up the pile of broken weapons, revealing the bottom of the wooden box. He saw that the entire bottom of the box was covered with his name, "Li Xiangyi," but each name was marked with a large X by a knife.

The knife marks were so deep, it was as if they were made on someone you hated to the core.

Even though Li Lianhua had been prepared, when she actually faced these things, she couldn't help but turn pale and her fingers trembled slightly as she touched the scratches carved by the knife.

In truth, putting everything else aside, when Shan Gudao was first accepted as a disciple by his master, he genuinely cared for Li Xiangyi from the bottom of his heart. However, all of this changed after he was blinded by jealousy and was found by the Nan Yin people.

Looking at the helpless Li Lianhua, Li Lianxin's face showed an almost broken expression, and her lips began to tremble. For a moment, she felt inexplicably guilty, but then she felt that she had done nothing wrong! The sooner Li Lianhua knew, the sooner she could let go of her feelings for Shan Gudao.

"Lotus... Lotus Heart, I, I, Senior Brother..."

Li Lianhua was trembling and could barely speak; she was on the verge of tears. This unexpected blow filled Li Lianxin with immense joy.

He silently repented, 'I'm sorry, Huahua, for being so...happy when you were so sad.'

The bold little fox hugged Li Lianhua tightly and comforted her, just like holding and coaxing a child, gently patting her back, almost humming a song.

Li Lianhua buried her face in her neck, now showing no trace of the sadness and grief she had just witnessed. Her eyes were filled with triumphant joy, and the corners of her mouth were uncontrollably upturned.

A skilled hunter often appears as the prey.

Li Lianxin didn't notice Li Lianhua's changes at all.

Time passed slowly with the sunlight. Having taken advantage of the situation, Li Lianhua felt that they still had other things to do, so she reluctantly sat up, pretending to control her emotions, her eyes still slightly red.

"Lianxin, I feel much better, thank you." Li Lianhua said sincerely, without any other thoughts, but was she really not?

"I'm glad you're alright."

After saying that, Li Lianxin remembered that there seemed to be something hidden on the pillow on Shan Gudao's bed, and continued to say to Li Lianhua, "Let's look again to see if there is anything else."

"[Pillow! Pillow!]" Li Lianxin cried out excitedly in her heart. Li Lianhua followed her lead and touched the pillow. Sensing something unusual, she immediately opened it, revealing a pile of papers inside.

The notebook was covered with dense writing, and he was most familiar with Shan Gudao's notes, as many of them bore his handwriting.

Li Lianhua immediately took all the papers to a small table to the side, wiped away the ashes on the table, and laid the papers out one by one.

After reading it several times, he roughly understood that it was all about Nan Yin, exactly the same as what Lian Xin had said. The jade pendant that belonged to his brother was still in his hands, and he had to get it back!

Li Lianhua collected all the papers on the table and returned to Yunju Pavilion with Li Lianxin.

Back in Yunju Pavilion, Li Lianhua told Lianxin to go back to her room and went to find Granny Qin alone.

"Master's wife"

At this time, Granny Qin often stayed in the small pavilion in the courtyard. Li Lianhua remembered this and came straight here.

"Xiangyi, please sit down." Qin Po knew that he had something to say, so she had someone sit down to signal him to speak.

Li Lianhua didn't speak directly, but instead handed over the papers she had found with Shan Gudao. Granny Qin took them suspiciously and examined them, growing increasingly uneasy with each glance. Shan Gudao was practically a child she had raised herself.

The handwriting is clearly Shan Gudao's, but this is about Nan Yin! He shouldn't be investigating this, unless...

Qin Po suddenly looked up at Li Lianhua and asked anxiously, "Xiangyi, what's going on! These are all in Shan Gudao's handwriting. How could he be investigating the affairs of Nan Yin!"

"What does Master's wife know? I found all of this in Senior Brother's pillow." Even if Li Lianhua knew these things, he couldn't possibly tell Master's wife, otherwise how could he explain that he knew everything?
