Chapter 175 Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace: Bai Ruiji 2
"Stop." The Emperor heard a wrong note and stopped Bai Ruiji. "You played a wrong note. Come here."
The Emperor beckoned, and Bai Ruiji hesitated for a moment before stepping forward and being pulled to sit on the couch.
The Emperor personally instructed Bai Ruiji, but his movements resembled pulling her into his arms.
Bai Ruiji felt the warm breath on her ear, and a blush rose on her fair face, making her mouth dry.
"What's wrong?" The Emperor asked knowingly, seeing the man's dazed expression.
Bai Ruiji rose and knelt on the ground, her voice tinged with shyness, "This servant has already learned it!"
"Really?" The Emperor looked at Bai Ruiji with an ambiguous gaze.
"I know it," Bai Ruiji said confidently.
"Then play it for me again."
"Yes." Bai Ruiji sat back down on the stool and began playing the piece again.
As night fell, a phoenix-shaped carriage carrying Bai Ruiji headed towards the Hall of Mental Cultivation.
After bathing in the inner chamber, Bai Ruiji entered the Emperor's bedroom.
The Emperor, dressed in a bright yellow nightgown, lay on his side on the bed, watching Bai Ruiji, with her long hair flowing and her face bare, walk towards him and extend her right hand.
Bai Ruiji offered her hand to the Emperor, who grasped it tightly, causing Bai Ruiji to fall weakly and bonelessly onto him.
He wrapped his arms around the beauty's slender waist, then flipped her over and pinned her beneath him.
"Your Majesty." Bai Ruiji was startled by this action and quickly reached out to gently grab the Emperor's nightgown.
The Emperor reached out and brushed Bai Ruiji's disheveled hair behind her ear, his eyes burning with intensity, making Bai Ruiji lower her gaze and dare not look at him.
"Why are you still afraid of me?" The Emperor seemed to sigh. He had already been very approachable and had even given her more time to get used to being with him.
"I'm not afraid." Bai Ruiji crumpled the emperor's nightgown, still stubbornly insisting.
"Fear is useless; I don't want to wait any longer."
He kissed her stubborn cherry lips directly, leading her to dance with him. After the kiss, the emperor coaxed her gently, "Be good, I will be gentle."
As the gauze curtains fell and candlelight shone, two figures intertwined. Soon, the woman's cries of pain and sobs could be heard from inside. The man coaxed her softly, but his actions were anything but gentle.
...
The next day, early morning.
The Emperor woke up from his sleep, looked at Bai Ruiji sleeping soundly beside him, and gently got up.
He made a soft gesture as he watched Wang Qin enter.
Wang Qin: "Your Majesty, what should we do with Miss Bai when she wakes up?"
“Let her live in the East Annex of Yongshou Palace. It’s the palace where the Empress Dowager used to live. There’s no need for any renovations. She can move in directly.”
"Rank... give me the rank of Changzai, bestow upon me the title of Mi, Mi Changzai."
Logically, palace maids should start as officials, but given the example of the late emperor, it is permissible to grant them a similar title.
However, the emperor felt that Bai Ruiji was being treated unfairly, so he decided to give her the rank of Changzai.
If it weren't for the fact that Bai Ruiji was a pipa player from the Southern Palace, whose status was too low, the Emperor would have wanted to give her a Noble Lady title.
"Yes, Your Majesty, I will go and deliver the decree shortly."
When Bai Ruiji woke up and got up, two palace maids came over.
"As is customary, this servant greets Consort Mi."
"This servant, Mo Hua, pays her respects to Consort Mi."
"Who are you?" Bai Ruiji blinked, her eyes glazed over, as if she hadn't quite woken up yet.
“The maids were sent by the Imperial Household Department to serve Consort Mi,” Su Yun explained.
"Mi Changzai?"
Bai Ruiji put on her shoes, and Su Yun and Mo Hua helped her dress and do her makeup. Bai Ruiji seemed a little unaccustomed to it.
"Yes, His Majesty has promoted you to the rank of Changzai, and bestowed upon you a title. The imperial decree has been issued," Mo Hua said cheerfully.
