Chapter 13 The Eve Before Dawn

Chapter 13 The Eve Before Dawn

The sun lazily grabbed a handful of sunlight and casually threw it out from the clouds, lazily pouring it into Honeydukes Candy Store.

Harry, pushing a yellow cart, strolled through this familiar shop, enjoying his rare leisure time.

The colorful candies were spread out like a dream, each one sparkling with an alluring luster. Harry reached out to take one from the shelf.

The cart he was pushing collided with a cart that was sticking out from the corner with a bang.

"I'm sorry, ma'am." Harry quickly separated the colliding carts to make a narrow passage.

"It's alright, after all, sir, you have urgent matters to attend to."

Harry looked in surprise at the lady who turned around from the narrow corridor. It was Narcissa Malfoy.

At the same time, the golden hair that had just appeared from Harry's back quickly went back into its hole, like a mole that had seen its natural enemy.

Narcissa narrowed her deep eyes, pushed the cart in her hand out of the narrow passage, and looked sideways at the shelf behind Harry.

A dark gown of exquisite tailoring perfectly matched her proud temperament.

After the violent shaking, all the candies with Draco's flavor were scattered in the cart. There were even many familiar packages, exactly the same as the ones he had taken from Draco's pockets these days.

Harry shook his head. "I'm not in a hurry, ma'am."

"Oh, then take your time to choose." Narcissa nodded, stepped back slightly to distance herself from Harry, but when she turned around, she glanced at the trembling strand of reddish-brown hair.

Harry saw the noble lady in the dark green robe in front of him calmly pushing the hood of his car away, and he had an indescribable feeling.

"Harry, is my mother gone?" Draco, who was leaning against Ron's face, glanced around Harry like a hamster that had just been awakened.

"Gone." Harry looked up at Narcissa, who was half hidden by the shelves, and scratched his hair. It was as if...

Just like Draco, he was furious.

"Are you some kind of mama's Draco baby? You even have to hide from this" Harry looked down at Draco who was leaning on his knees, holding his robes to cover his face, and decided not to say anything.

"You don't understand." Draco hugged his knees sullenly. If his mother knew that he was hanging out with Harry, she would definitely be very angry.

Although he wanted to break free from Voldemort's control, the premise of all this was to allow his family's life to return to normal.

Harry, who had been indulging Draco and letting him hold his robe, heard this and unhappily pulled out the wizard robe that Draco was about to twist into a knot.

Facing the puzzled Draco, he turned around stiffly and said, "If you keep twisting it, my robe will be torn."

Draco's thin lips drooped inwards instantly, and he blinked rapidly at Harry's clumsy movements.

"I'm not a Gryffindor, your robes won't get ripped. At worst, I'll give you half of the candy Mom sent me this time." Draco poked Harry, who was pretending to be calm. "And if you take it without permission, you'll have to stay here and sell yourself to pay off your debts."

Harry looked at his trolley piled high with candy, touched the tip of his nose awkwardly, and jingled the stacked coins against his pockets.

Harry raised an eyebrow at the right moment, pulled Sickle out of his pocket, and pointed at the Sizzle Bees and Honeydukes chocolates in the trolley, "Ron asked me to bring some for him."

Draco raised his eyebrows slightly and nodded in sudden realization, but his hands behind his back were almost broken by his own pinching.

While the two were talking, the corner of a dark robe flashed behind a shelf not far away.

[In that case, then go towards your choice like a Slytherin, my dear little dragon.]

Draco's brows were furrowed, two thick clouds pressed down on his forehead, pulling down his eyelids. He stroked the two-sided mirror in his hand with an unfocused gaze. His originally lively face was shrouded in a layer of melancholy, and even his breathing seemed heavy and slow.

Harry pressed the bloody lollipop against the corner of Draco's mouth, which was unconsciously turned down. "What are you worried about?"

"I'm worried that the black crows will find the white feather in the crow's nest." Draco turned his head and held the candy wrapper in his mouth, a low sigh escaping from his throat.

"Even if he doesn't find any evidence against you, he will always be suspicious of you. Suspicion and self-doubt are his nature." Harry unwrapped the candy and lay on the windowsill next to Draco.

"Among a group of carnivores, you, a lamb smelling of grass, are the perfect winter food. Especially since the fox protecting this lamb has lost its tiger power, making it an easy target for slaughter."

Draco crunched the candy, the rough arc against his tongue. "A lamb that impulsively rushes to the sheepfold will only become an isolated island, devoured by tigers and lions. This is not a mistake any hound should make."

"Compared to the lambs rushing back to the sheepfold, the peacock wearing fox skin and staying in the mad tiger's territory during the dry season is in the most dangerous place on the grassland." Harry held up the incomplete edible Dark Mark lollipop in his hand and once again approached Draco who had retracted his neck into his turtle shell.

"It's like there's a Simba living in my heart right now, but my brain, oh no, my whole body, is like Marlin, ready to shout 'Wait, wait, wait until the red lights and alarms go out' at any time. And you are guiding me to explode the fire bomb!" Draco looked resentful, snatched the Dark Mark lollipop from Harry's hand, and bit off a big piece.

"The button on the fire bow has been pressed. Moving it and detonating it in advance is our only way." Harry didn't care and stuffed the lollipop with a big bite missing back into his mouth.

The playful Draco froze instantly, his round cheeks flushed red like a blown-up pufferfish.

"As soon as a fire breaks out, it will set fire to the animals' nests anywhere on the grassland. How can the animals burned by the flames feel safe if a giant python enters their nests? In this fire, only the snake-filled swamp can give them a moment of peace."

Draco bit the rough, flat plastic stick with his scooping teeth, leaving tiny teeth marks all over it.

"Meadow Hospital welcomes every brave warrior who has been burned and has participated in this firefighting operation." Harry leaned sideways with his hands on the windowsill, his bright green eyes like a pool of crystal clear water, reflecting the fire burning not far behind Draco.

"My dad will beat me to death, I promise." Draco folded his hands, pressed them against the windowsill, and crunched the candy in his mouth.

"The red lights at the intersection and the car sirens will never go out, but there will always be people on the zebra crossing, and you can too, Draco." Harry placed the round candy against his chest, embraced Draco who was lying on the windowsill of the tower, and looked out at the castle with few lights.

"It smells like Dumbledore," Draco, who was still a little depressed, covered Harry's shining green eyelids unhappily and stepped back.

The eyelashes trembled slightly under the palm of the hand, gently falling on the surface of the lake, stirring up the clear water in the pool.
