Chapter 59 Picking up flowers in the morning and evening 29

The September wind, carrying the last bit of summer's heat, swept across the paper-covered sliding door of the izakaya.

The warm yellow light in the private room flowed over everyone's shoulders like melted honey, adding just the right amount of warmth to this corner of Panxing Sect.

Geto Suguru's off-white linen shirt was immersed in the warm light, his black hair was loosely tied into a half-bun, with a few strands of hair hanging in front of his forehead. His purple eyes were deliberately empty, like a lake covered with a layer of mist, just the right amount of gentleness.

He picked up a piece of crispy tempura with bamboo chopsticks, his movements as light as picking up a feather, and put it into Nanako's bowl.

"Try this, don't be picky." His voice was so warm that it could drown people. His fingertips had already picked up a tissue and wiped the sauce from the corner of Nanako's lips.

The poison needle pinned in the girl's blonde hair flashed, like a sunflower with hidden thorns, rubbing against his arm obediently.

"You have to eat vegetables occasionally." His voice was as light as a feather, but his eyes swept across the mess on the table and fell on the newcomer huddled in the corner.

The boy was wearing a school uniform that was too big for him. His black hair was as soft as ink that had not yet dried. His amber eyes were wide open as he stared at the untouched plate of Japanese confectionery next to Geto Suguru's hand. His Adam's apple moved slightly.

"Ryota, don't be so reserved." Geto Suguru suddenly spoke, pushing a plate of cherry blossom cakes over, his purple eyes curved into a beautiful arc, "Here, we are all family."

The boy looked up suddenly and met his warm eyes.

The smile in his eyes spread gently, and just as he was about to say something, a burst of complaints with a tearful tone suddenly floated in the air, breaking the brief silence.

The boy looked in the direction of the voice and saw Mimiko running towards him angrily, with a blush of grievance on her little face.

"Sir, Lalu stole my edamame again!" The girl's tone was a little aggrieved. As she spoke, she ran over quickly, her eyebrows slightly furrowed, and she was holding a small bowl that was half empty in her hand.

When she ran in front of Geto Suguru, she stopped.

She took advantage of the situation and gently pulled his sleeve, shaking it slightly, as if silently accusing him of the grievance she had just suffered, her eyes full of expectation for his support.

As she swayed, the curse rope on her wrist slid down to her forearm like a restless little snake.

Before Xia Yujie could say anything, Lalu had already huddled in a corner with the whole plate of edamame in his arms. His chubby body looked like a hamster that had stolen food, and he mumbled incoherently, "I, I only ate a little bit..."

He puffed out his cheeks, but glanced secretly at Mimiko, dodging with a guilty look, and the plate of edamame in his arms swayed slightly with his little movements.

Before he could finish his words, Miguel suddenly pressed his shoulders. The man in black tights was like a silent stone, his eyes scanning the surroundings vigilantly, his fingertips never leaving the black rope around his waist.

"Miguel, don't be so nervous."

Xia Yujie chuckled, picked up a piece of barbecue and stuffed it into Lalu's mouth naturally.

"There are no cursed spirits nearby, relax."

Miguel's tense shoulders relaxed slightly, but he still didn't let down his guard completely. He just moved his fingertips away from the black rope and glanced at the dinner plates on the table, which was considered as his tacit agreement with Geto Suguru's words.

Lalu chewed the barbecue, humming vaguely twice, while still protecting the remaining edamame in his hand.

Suddenly, there was a deafening cheer from next door, like a group of wild horses crashing into a paper door.

"Yuji, if you make any more noise, I'll throw your broken phone out!" Kugisaki Nobara's roar mixed with the sound of tables and chairs colliding, shaking the window paper.

Geto Suguru's smile didn't fade, but his fingertips paused slightly.

Nanako immediately shrank behind him, the poisonous needles in her golden hair flashing.

Mimiko blinked in shock at the scene, then turned to look at Geto Suguru, tightening her grip on his sleeve.

"Sir, it seems like next door is..." Just as Manami Suda was about to speak to smooth things over, there was a loud "bang" and the narrow cabinet near the door suddenly shook violently!

The cabinet containing the welcome gift that Panxingjiao gave to Ryota collapsed instantly, and the tennis items on it fell straight from the side of the cabinet towards Lalu who was holding the plate like a flock of frightened birds.

"Be careful!" Ryota hurried to catch it, but was pulled away by a faster force.

The moment Geto Xia Yu caught the cabinet, his knuckles turned white and the red-brown surface left red marks on his palms.

The warmth in his purple eyes was like shattered glass, and a cold light flashed by.

The sliding door was slammed open, and Yuji Itadori staggered out, his cherry-pink hedgehog hair tilted to one side and the hood of his sweatshirt hanging on his forehead.

He obviously didn't see the situation in the room clearly. He was still excited from playing around and was about to shout, "Don't be angry, Wild Rose. I didn't mean it..."

His words got stuck in his throat and met Geto Suguru's seemingly calm eyes, and he suddenly shuddered.

Only then did he realize what was happening and lowered his head, his eyes sweeping over the mess in the room - collapsed cabinets, tennis equipment scattered on the floor, and the conspicuous red mark on Geto Suguru's palm. The excitement on his face instantly faded, replaced by a bit of panic.

"Sorry, sorry! I didn't stand firmly just now--" he said as he subconsciously took half a step forward.

As if he wanted to make up for something, he tried to support the cabinet in a panic, but didn't know where to start.

"Ah, sorry!" Fushiguro Megumi followed closely behind, his urchin-black hair pressed against his baseball cap, the blood stain on his black T-shirt still wet. He held onto Itadori's shoulders, his eyes flickering from the reddish-brown locker in Geto Suguru's hands to the phone peeking out from Nanako's lapel. His expression instantly turned cold.

The grilled eel in Lalu's mouth fell to the ground, and he looked up stupidly: "Fight?"

As soon as he finished speaking, the brown cabinet was held down and lifted back by a hand wearing a black glove.

Miguel appeared out of nowhere like a black stone, blocking the sliding door, his knuckles against the weapon at his waist, and the look between his fingers was colder than ice.

Geto Suguru raised his hand and pressed Miguel's shoulder, his purple eyes always locked on Megumi Fushiguro.

The young man was calmly protecting the tiger stick behind him, and the aura of the curse spirit was faintly visible in the shadows.

"Nothing, just a lively kid."

He raised his eyes to look at Zenin Maki, but the smile in his purple eyes did not reach his eyes, "It was us who scared the guests.

"Since we're neighbors, why don't we sit together?"

His voice was as warm as the afternoon sun.

The last word was lightly hooked, and his eyes slid from Fushiguro Megumi's tense profile to Yuji's clenched fist, and his fingertips tapped the back of his hand casually.

"Sorry," the shadow of the baseball cap cast by the sea urchin's black hair fell on the crack, "We will compensate you."

"There's no need for compensation."

Xia Yujie put down his hand, and scratched the edge of the table with his fingertips. "It's just that the soundproofing in this room is poor. Next time, please be quieter so as not to disturb the children."

His eyes swept over Nanako and Mimiko who were huddled behind him. They were clutching each other's clothes, their eyelashes trembling.

Fushiguro Megumi's eyebrows twitched, but she didn't respond. She just bent down to pick up the tennis ball on the ground and wiped the dust off it with her fingertips.

Itadori opened his mouth behind him and wanted to say something but was silenced by a look from Fushiguro Megumi. He could only scratch the back of his head, his toes leaving shallow marks on the floor.

Zenin Maki stood at the door with her arms folded, her black boots rolling over the scattered wood chips, and suddenly she sneered.
