Chapter 166 The Horror House (Motion-Sensing Game Box)

After finishing their meal, Hanyu, Ran, Kazuha, and Ai lay down together on the soft lawn below the Minomyo Waterfall.

They gazed silently at the night sky, where countless glittering stars dotted the dark expanse, like jewels set against the black canvas, shining brightly.

Occasionally, a shooting star streaks across the sky, tracing a beautiful arc before vanishing in an instant. Moonlight, like water, spills down, bathing the entire lawn in a silvery glow.

"Osaka's nights are so beautiful!" Hanyu Nan squinted slightly, savoring the tranquility and beauty of the night.

"Yes, Dongdu is nice too, but it's not this beautiful at night." Xiaolan sighed softly, somewhat intoxicated by the enchanting night scene.

"That's right. Although Osaka is not as bustling as your Tokyo, we do a very good job of protecting the natural environment."

Kazuha, who was staring intently at the stars in the sky searching for constellations, heard their words and proudly praised them.

Ai: "..."

Ai didn't bother to argue anymore. At this moment, she had a faint serenity on her face, her gaze was deep and distant, and her thoughts had drifted to the distant horizon.

A gentle breeze swept by, bringing a touch of coolness and ruffling their hair.

All around was quiet, with only the gentle sound of the waterfall cascading down, mingling with their breathing to create a serene and beautiful scene that brought a sense of peace to the soul.

As Yuzuru was enjoying the evening breeze, he suddenly noticed something, raised an eyebrow, and smiled.

The actor has arrived at the stage he prepared.

A good show is about to begin!

...

"Found it!"

After searching in the mountains for quite a while, Heiji Hattori and Conan finally spotted a small wooden cabin looming in the dense forest ahead.

"Let's go take a look!" Hattori Heiji excitedly ran towards the cabin.

"Wait, Hattori!" Conan shouted quickly, "Don't rush in, what if there's danger inside?"

Conan looked at the dark, gloomy wooden house and a sense of unease rose in his heart.

"Don't worry, Kudo, I'm a master swordsman. With me here, no one can hurt us!" Hattori Heiji picked up a wooden stick from the ground and even brandished it a few times.

“That’s true,” Conan hesitated only slightly before his intense curiosity began to stir. “With you and me working together, how could we possibly defeat an enemy?”

And so, the two daredevils, brimming with confidence, swaggered inside.

After entering the cabin, Conan carefully shone the flashlight that came with the watch invented by Professor Agasa around the room.

Soon, he found muddy footprints on the dark wooden window.

"Hattori..."

Conan lowered his voice and called out to Hattori, who was looking around in the cabin, gesturing for him to look over.

The two exchanged a glance, their minds in perfect harmony. Then, Hattori quickly hoisted Conan onto his back, gripped the window railing tightly, and jumped upwards with all his might.

"Bang!"

With a soft thud, Hattori Heiji landed steadily on the roof beam.

Conan immediately reached out and began to feel around on the wooden plank above, and soon found a loose plank.

"This is it!" Conan exclaimed with delight.

Heiji Hattori nodded, exerted his strength again, and pushed the wooden plank aside. Then, carrying Conan on his back, he laboriously climbed up to the attic.

The attic was pitch black, with only the faint light from Hattori's flashlight.

When they climbed up to the attic, the beam of the flashlight shone directly on one of them.

"Numabuchi Ichiro, it really is you!" Hattori Heiji said through gritted teeth.

Conan, however, keenly noticed something unusual.

By the light of the flashlight, Conan saw that Ichiro Numabuchi's hands were handcuffed to a pillar next to him.

"No, Hattori, he's handcuffed here!" Conan quickly said.

"Great, finally someone's here." When Numabuchi Ichiro saw a high school student and a child, a fierce glint flashed in his eyes, but he quickly shouted weakly, "Please...please give me something to eat!"

Although he didn't know exactly what was going on, out of caution, Hattori Heiji carefully handed over a piece of chocolate he was carrying.

Conan stood on the attic and began to carefully look around. He felt that this matter was not as simple as it seemed on the surface.

Who exactly sent the message to Hattori?

Just as Conan was racking his brains, he suddenly noticed a purple item placed in a corner of the attic, so he rushed over without hesitation.

"Conan, what did you find?" Hattori glanced at Ichiro Numabuchi, who was wolfing down his food, and followed Conan to the corner.

By the dim light, they finally made out the mysterious object—it was a purple box with a screen and two buttons on top.

"What's this box? It looks pretty high-tech!" Hattori Heiji exclaimed in amazement as he looked at the high-tech purple box in front of him.

"There's a button here, but I don't know what it's for?" Conan muttered, his hand already pressing the blue button on its own.

"Click click click~" Then, a machine operating sound rang out, and the screen above the box began to emit a series of brilliant rainbow lights. Then, with a "whoosh", a piece of paper popped out.

Heiji Hattori and Conan both looked at the note in surprise.

"Try to escape this room! This is a thrilling and exciting motion-sensing game where players cooperate to overcome obstacles and reach the finish line!" Conan read out each word carefully.

"What the heck?" Hattori Heiji frowned, looking completely bewildered, having no idea what it meant. He shook his head, then pressed the red button without thinking. "I want to see how exciting it is!"

Conan watched curiously but didn't stop them.

It can only be said that these two great detectives have absolutely no idea what the saying "curiosity killed the cat" means.

As Heiji Hattori pressed the red button without hesitation, the motion-sensing game box suddenly burst forth with a series of dazzling rainbows.

Under the incredibly shocked gazes of Conan, Heiji Hattori, and Ichiro Numabuchi, who had already finished eating, something unbelievable happened: the wooden plank leading to the attic automatically closed, and a large padlock appeared out of nowhere to lock it securely!

Then, as if by magic, the windows, trash cans, and everything else that could be opened were all locked with a mysterious lock.

Even the door in the long-forgotten painting on the wall was now tightly locked!

"What's going on?" Hattori Heiji stared wide-eyed, his face full of disbelief as he lunged toward the entrance to the attic, trying to unlock it, but he was immediately bounced back as if he had hit an invisible wall.

"Hattori, are you alright?" Conan was equally at a loss and quickly went over to help Hattori up.
