Chapter 27 He committed suicide

"Sir, we found this diary in the deceased's home."

A police officer who went to the deceased's home to investigate returned to the scene and reported to Inspector Megure.

Upon hearing this, Yuzuru Hanyu followed him into the house. Under Yuzuru Hanyu's threat, Yuko Ikezawa obediently confessed everything.

In Japan's entertainment industry, the requirements for artists are extremely strict; even idols are not allowed to date.

More egregious behaviors, such as domestic violence, drug use, and drunk driving, would face strong condemnation and boycotts from all sectors of society if these stains became known to the public, regardless of how popular the artist was in the past.

Noriko Sakai, a popular Japanese actress at the time, was immediately blacklisted by the entire country after being exposed for drug use. She had no chance to make a comeback, and no one would speak up for her.

After hearing Yuko Ikezawa's confession, everyone understood what had happened.

It turns out that Yuko Ikezawa has always been resentful about being snatched the lead role by Yoko Okino. She feels that she is far superior to Yoko Okino in terms of both hard work and acting skills, but she has never been able to become as famous as Yoko Okino.

This unfair treatment fueled Yuko Ikezawa's resentment, and she ultimately decided to take revenge on Yoko Okino.

Yuko Ikezawa accidentally found a spare key to Yoko Okino's house. Instead of returning the key, she hid it.

He wanted to search Yoko Okino's house for evidence that could ruin her reputation, so as to achieve his goal of disgracing her.

"Yuko, why...?"

After listening to Yuko Ikezawa's account, Yoko Okino stared at her with a face full of confusion and shock, unsure of how to respond.

Yuko Ikezawa did not answer Yoko Okino's question, and continued talking to herself:

"When I opened the door to go in, a man suddenly rushed in from outside. Without saying a word, he tried to drag me inside. I was really scared at the time, and after I broke free from him with all my might, I ran away without looking back. I guess that's when my earring fell off." Yuko Ikezawa's voice was trembling.

"So you really did kill Fujie Akiyoshi. Because Fujie Akiyoshi discovered what you were doing, and you were afraid that he would expose you and ruin your reputation, you killed him and framed Miss Yoko!"

Seeing that things had taken a turn for the better, Kogoro Mouri decisively stepped forward to eliminate Yuko Ikezawa.

"Brother Mori, what you said makes a lot of sense. Miss Yuko, is there anything else you have to say?"

Inspector Megure stroked his chin and looked at Yuko Ikezawa.

"No, how could I kill someone? I shook him off and ran away. He was still alive when I ran away," Yuko Ikezawa quickly denied, crying.

"But that's all your side of the story. Right now, you're the prime suspect."

Just as everyone was suspecting Yuko Ikezawa, Nanami Hanyu stepped forward and said, "Ahem, I'd like to ask, Ms. Yoko, you should know the deceased, right?"

Looking at Yuzuru Nanami staring at him with certainty, Yoko sighed and ignored Eiichi Yamagishi, who was pulling her from behind, and said:

"That's right, I do know Fujie Akiyoshi, and he's my ex-boyfriend. He's the one who broke up with me."

"What!!!"

Everyone in the room was in an uproar. The popular idol's ex-boyfriend turned out to be a total couch potato, and she had dumped him.

Whether it was Fujie Akiyoshi who dumped Okino Yoko, or Okino Yoko who became famous and then looked down on Fujie Akiyoshi, Hanyu Nan didn't care. He had no interest in women in the entertainment industry.

"Smack!"

Hanyu Nan casually caught the ashtray that was flying towards the back of Kogoro Mouri's head, then turned to look at Conan with a smile.

"Huh? That's weird, how did I get here?"

Upon hearing that Yoko Okino and Akiyoshi Fujie knew each other, Conan immediately understood what was going on and prepared to solve the case before Kusunoki Hanyu. He glanced at Kogoro Mouri and silently said, "Sorry, uncle."

After saying that, he kicked the ashtray at Kogoro Mouri's head, and then a scene that left Conan dumbfounded happened.

The ashtray, which was in flight, was suddenly turned around and grabbed by Yuzuru Nanami, who was talking.

"Conan, don't throw things around! You almost hit Uncle Mori."

Upon hearing what Kusuo Hanyu said, Kogoro Mouri turned his head and saw the ashtray in Kusuo Hanyu's hand, and his lips twitched involuntarily.

"You brat, what are you trying to do!"

Kogoro Mouri caught Conan, who was trying to escape, and unleashed a series of blows on Conan's head. After finishing off Conan, he tossed him away like trash.

"There's definitely something wrong with Yuzuru Hanyu. His reaction time is terrible. We have to investigate him." Conan, who had been thrown out, covered his head and looked at Yuzuru Hanyu's back. His glasses flashed.

...

"I think the deceased committed suicide, not murder."

"suicide?"

The people in the room looked at Yuzuru in surprise. The victim's knife wound was on his back. How could it be suicide?

Yuzuru smiled and looked at Yoko Okino, saying, "Miss Yoko, do you usually keep the air conditioning this high?"

"Huh? No way."

When asked, Yoko Okino quickly denied it.

Everyone was even more confused. How did the conversation turn to air conditioning again?

You're making us look stupid; we can't understand a word you're saying.

"Brother Yuzuru, could you please explain this more clearly..."

"Imperial Megure complained helplessly."

Yuzuru pointed to the water stains and dents on the floor and continued, "It's ice. The deceased froze the handle of the kitchen knife inside the ice, then fixed it to the floor, and then stepped on the stool, flipped over, and jumped down. The reason the air conditioner was set to such a high temperature was to melt the ice before it was discovered."
