Chapter 295 The Startled White Dove

Suzuki Museum of Modern Art.

"Shall we go to a restaurant?"

"Yeah, we already know Kidd won't be here until 3 a.m., and the kids are all out playing. Let's go have a few drinks together!"

After completing the deployment with the police, Shiro Suzuki extended an invitation to Kogoro Mouri across from him.

Middle-aged men from similar families often have a lot to talk about.

They all have very strong-willed wives, and their daughters are all related to Yuzuru Hanyu.

"OK!"

Kogoro Mouri naturally couldn't have been happier to accept such a request.

If you can drink at work, and your employer invites you to, where else can you find such a good job?

Just as the two were discussing which hotel to go to, Nakamori Ginzo walked over with two of his men.

"President, that's about enough."

"Okay, then I'll leave it to you."

Kogoro Mouri watched as Ginzo Nakamori picked up the box containing the Egg of Memories from the table and asked curiously, "What? Are you moving it to the showroom?"

"It's fake!"

Before Kogoro Mouri could ask a question in surprise, Ginzo Nakamori continued, "In the past, we were always too honest and foolish, putting things where Kid knew exactly where they were, which is why he was able to easily get them every time."

At this point, Inspector Nakamori, true to form, made a bold statement: "This time, we plan to confuse the issue, leaving Kidd completely bewildered and unable to find his target!"

"I see!"

Kogoro Mouri, seemingly confused but impressed, clapped his hands and couldn't resist asking, "So, where should we put it?"

Nakamori Ginzo immediately looked at Mouri Kogoro warily, "There's absolutely no way I'm going to tell you!"

He's learned his lesson many times before, and he needs to remember this time.

Aside from two henchmen who have been confirmed not to be Kid in disguise, he will not reveal the true location of the Egg of Memories to anyone.

He had to ensure that this plan would go perfectly and that he couldn't let Phantom Thief Kid succeed so easily again.

This made Kogoro Mouri, who had been rejected, very unhappy. He rushed forward and grabbed Ginzo Nakamori's face, pulling it violently.

"What are you doing?" Nakamori Ginzo roared angrily.

"Because you could also be Kid in disguise!" Kogoro Mouri shouted back, his eyes filled with suspicion.

"Then, you might be too!"

Never one to admit defeat, Nakamori Ginzo did not hesitate to retaliate, reaching out to pull Kogoro Mouri's face.

The two grown men then began to demonstrate the "art" of pulling and tugging inside the house, stretching each other's cheeks until they were as long as dough.

However, for the sake of male pride, neither was willing to give up first.

Outside the window, a white dove silently watched the absurd scene inside the house, a small transmitter tied to its red claw.

After gathering enough intelligence, it spread its wings and flew away.

"Po~"

Just as the white dove flew away, chubby Bobo descended from the sky. Gazing at the white figure gradually disappearing into the distance, he tilted his little head, seemingly deep in thought.

Its round body bounced a few times on the ground, then flapped its wings and flew away.

...

"It's 'Swallows Return'. Okay, now I know why my Xiaolan didn't draw this lot."

A group of people walked along the pedestrian street of Osaka Castle, with Sonoko still chattering about the information she had just received from the shrine's manager.

Sunlight streamed down the street, illuminating everyone's face.

Today's fortune is very auspicious, but it signifies ending a bad relationship and starting a new one.

"Thank goodness I didn't win, I don't need that kind of lottery!" Xiaolan patted her chest, her words of relief spilling out.

Her face was beaming with happiness, and her eyes were filled with unwavering determination in her current relationship.

Kazuha and Akemi, who were standing next to her, nodded in unison, "That's right, that's right, we're happy just like this."

They all felt that their current relationship was the best, and this so-called lucky draw turned out to be the worst.

"Yuzuru, where should we go next?"

Kazuha turned around and asked Hanyu Nan, who was slowly following behind the group.

"You're the tour guide, so of course you're in charge of making the arrangements," Yuzuru replied lazily.

Kazuha blinked and suggested, "How about we go to the arcade? I heard they have the latest plush toys you can win."

"Yes! Yes!" Sonoko answered first, jumping for joy. "I'm going to try and see if I can catch a super, super, super cute giant plush toy!"

"Yuanzi, don't be too confident. Winning a claw machine isn't that easy."

Xiaolan knows her best friend very well; this kind of game that requires skill is still a bit difficult for her.

"You don't understand! We still have Nan!" Sonoko ran up behind them with a grin, hugged Nan's neck from behind, and said in a spoiled tone, "If we can't catch him, we can just have Nan do it!"

“Since Miss Sonoko has spoken, how could I dare disobey?” Yu Shengnan smiled indulgently and gently tapped the head resting on his shoulder with his folding fan.

"Great! Let's go!"

Sonoko cheered, as happy as a child, and gave Yuzuru a big kiss on the cheek.

The group chatted and laughed, their footsteps echoing in the street as they followed He Ye toward the arcade.

...

Time slipped away quietly amidst laughter and joy, the sun gradually set, and night fell.

At night, Osaka Castle is brightly lit, with colorful lights illuminating the streets and alleys, making the whole city look like a dream.

The bustling crowds moved about, some chatting and laughing, others busy at work, filling this ancient yet modern city with vitality and energy.

However, amidst this noisy atmosphere, no one noticed that a white figure had appeared on the top of Tsutenkaku Tower, which is used to predict the weather in Osaka.

"Hmm, I see. Just as I predicted. Mom is still too young..."

Kaito stood atop Tsutenkaku Tower, overlooking the bustling Osaka Castle below, a smug smile playing on his lips.

After skillfully removing the transmitter from the white pigeon's claw, Kaito gently stroked the pigeon's feathers. "Thank you so much for making the trip."

However, when Kaito's gaze fell on the white dove again, he couldn't help but frown.

"That's strange, you seem a bit down. Are you exhausted?"

Kaito touched the white pigeon's head in confusion. He noticed that his pigeons had been looking rather listless ever since they arrived in Osaka.

They are no longer as lively and active as before; instead, they always lie listlessly to the side, as if they have been frightened by something.

“Strange…” Kaito shook his head. Although puzzled, he didn’t dwell on the question and instead released the white dove back into the night sky.

Then, facing the night wind, he stood at the top of the Tongtian Pavilion and opened his arms.
