“Miss Xia Mei, your great-grandfather, Mr. Kiichi, risked great danger to secretly rescue Princess Maria when the October Revolution broke out. The two returned to Japan together and had a daughter.”
"As for the evidence..." Yu Shengnan looked at Sonoko, who was watching the drama unfold below, "Sonoko, bring the egg over here."
"Egg? Oh, good!" Sonoko was taken aback at first, then quickly rummaged through her bag and pulled out the Egg of Memories, threw it forcefully, and shouted, "Catch it, Nan!"
The egg of memory traced a graceful arc in the air.
Upon seeing this scene, everyone's eyes twitched involuntarily.
That's something worth 800 million!
They were just tossed around like toys.
Is this what the world of the rich is like?
“This is a Russian nesting doll design.” Yuzuru caught the Egg of Memory and placed it into the egg he took out of the coffin.
The two eggs were perfectly set together, fitting together seamlessly.
"Is that all?" Pu Siqinglan asked with a puzzled expression.
"Of course not." Yuzuru Nan revealed a mysterious smile.
He walked down from the platform, holding the egg in his hand.
"Officer Shiratori, may I borrow your flashlight?"
"Coming!" Officer Shiratori responded and followed them downstairs.
The two walked together to the platform directly in front of the coffin below.
"Put the flashlight inside," Yuzuru said calmly.
Officer Shiratori did not hesitate at all and did as instructed.
The next moment, all the candles around them went out on their own without any wind.
The room was plunged into darkness in an instant, with only a lone beam of light shining from the flashlight on the table.
Everyone crowded around, and Yuzuru Hanyu put the two eggs he had assembled into the box.
As the flashlight beam refracted, the two eggs of memory began to undergo a wondrous transformation.
"The egg..." Looking at the Memory Egg, whose internal structure was now visible, Xiaolan couldn't help but exclaim in surprise, "It's become transparent..."
“The emperor doll inside has risen up,” Mingmei couldn’t help but whisper, her eyes fixed on it.
Ai pinched her chin, her gaze focused as she pondered, "The inside of this egg is very special; it's probably designed like a luminometer."
Amidst the gasps of the crowd, an even more shocking scene unfolded.
The emperor slowly turned the pages of the book in his hand, and beams of brilliant light shot out from the egg, projecting different photographs onto the surrounding walls.
“This is a picture of Emperor Nicholas II and his family!” Sireuf said in shock.
Kogoro Mouri sighed, "So they weren't reading books inside the egg after all..."
“It’s a photo album!” Xiaolan added.
“That’s why it’s called the Egg of Memories.” Yuzuru smiled and pointed to one of the photos. “Miss Natsumi, that photo is of your great-grandfather, Mr. Kiichi, isn’t it?”
Upon closer inspection, Natsumi Kosaka exclaimed in delight, "It really is!"
She stared excitedly at the photo, which showed a man and a woman sitting in a chair, one of whom was her great-grandfather.
“That’s my great-grandmother over there!” Tears welled up in Natsumi Kosaka’s eyes. “I’ve finally met her…”
However, Sirius suddenly exclaimed, "It's Princess Maria! It really is Princess Maria! She's really not dead!"
As the Russian ambassador, he had seen photographs of Nicholas II and his family and was deeply impressed by the princess.
A corner of the fog of history has been lifted.
“So, Miss Xia Mei, you actually have Russian royal blood.” Yuzuru’s voice was tinged with emotion. “To avoid the revolutionary turmoil and persecution at the time, Mr. Kiichi and Princess Maria chose to keep this secret.”
Ai said softly from the side, "In such turbulent times, this was a helpless measure."
"Mr. Kiichi truly deserves to be called the magician of the end of the century." Yuzuru sighed leisurely, "His last magic performance directly deceived a long history."
Compared to the Phantom Thief Kid, who only pursues glamorous scenes and uses dazzling techniques to grab attention, this is a truly breathtaking magic performance.
Even he would have to admit that it was impressive.
"So that's how it is." Tears welled up in Natsumi Kosaka's eyes, and her voice choked with emotion. "My great-grandfather was truly amazing."
Everyone was immersed in this astonishing truth, and for a moment, the underground space was so quiet that only their breathing could be heard.
It wasn't until the photo on the wall slowly retracted into the egg with a soft sound that everyone snapped out of their daze.
“This egg is Mr. Kiichi’s great legacy!” Sileo glanced at Hanyu Nanami beside Kosaka Natsumi. “The Russian government has decided to relinquish ownership of it. Miss Natsumi, it will be more valuable for you to own it.”
As a diplomatic ambassador, the ability to read between the lines is a fundamental skill.
Although Hanyu Nan didn't show anything, Sileo still noticed something from Hanyu Nan's attitude towards Kosaka Natsumi.
He didn't mind doing this favor in exchange for a little bit of goodwill from this big shot.
In any case, Russia's right of succession is no match for that of Princess Maria's descendants.
After all, this was originally a gift made by the family themselves.
Thank you so much!
Natsumi Kosaka was overjoyed. If she hadn't known that her great-grandmother was Princess Maria, she wouldn't have minded handing the egg over to more people to see.
But now that she knows the truth, the egg is of great significance to her, representing the continuation of her family line.
