Mrs. Yoshida is a woman of great elegance and virtue. Judging from her appearance alone, she is like a larger version of Ayumi, with the same delicate face and gentle eyes.
Because she bears the heavy responsibility of raising her child alone and also has to work hard to make a living, she has very limited time to teach her daughter.
This is why Ayumi has a somewhat wild personality.
But compared to Conan and his friends, they're already considered well-behaved kids.
Seeing Yuzuru and his two companions preparing to leave, Mrs. Yoshida took Ayumi's small hand and escorted her to the elevator.
Then, she bowed deeply again, her long, flowing hair cascading down her shoulders.
“Mr. Yuzuru, no matter what, you are the savior of my daughter and me. I will do my best to help you whenever you need me in the future.”
Her tone was extremely solemn; her daughter was her whole life.
If something happens to Ayumi, she doesn't know how she can continue living.
"Madam, you are too kind. It is only what I should do."
Yuzuru stepped forward, helped Mrs. Yoshida up with both hands, and then habitually reached out to gently tuck a few stray strands of hair behind her head.
Only after I finished did I realize that this action was somewhat inappropriate.
His hand paused briefly in the air, then quickly withdrew and landed on Ayumi's head, ruffling it a few times as he said with a smile, "Ayumi is so cute, how could I possibly let her get hurt?"
A faint blush rose to Mrs. Yoshida's cheeks, which quickly subsided, and she said gratefully, "Mr. Yuzuru, you are such a kind person."
"Brother Yuzuru is the best!"
Still not understanding what had happened, Ayumi blinked her big, bright eyes and looked at Yuzuru with an innocent expression. She grinned and tiptoed, trying to push her little head into Yuzuru's palm.
Yuzuru chuckled softly, squatted down, and gently instructed, "Ayumi, you must be a good girl at home and listen to your mother."
"I will, Yuzuru-nii."
Ayumi nodded obediently, her voice clear and melodious.
"Hmm, so good!"
Yuzuru stroked Ayumi's hair with satisfaction.
Just then, the elevator arrived.
He stood up, smiled at Mrs. Yoshida, and then turned and walked into the elevator with Ai and Vermouth.
Ayumi continued waving vigorously, calling out, "Goodbye, Hanyu-nii, Ai-chan, big sister!"
Only after the elevator doors closed completely and the small gap disappeared did she slowly lower her arms and place her small hands at her sides.
But her gaze remained fixed on the direction of the elevator, as if she wanted to see the people inside through the closed doors.
Seeing her daughter's reluctant expression, Mrs. Yoshida squatted down to Ayumi's eye level and asked gently, "Ayumi, judging from your expression, do you really like Hanyu-nii-san?"
"I like him. Yuzuru-nii is so incredibly gentle, and he even saved me."
Ayumi nodded vigorously, her little face unusually serious as she said, "When I grow up, I will definitely marry Yuzuru-nii and become his wife!"
"Yeah?"
Mrs. Yoshida was taken aback at first, then couldn't help but laugh out loud. She reached out and touched Ayumi's hair, "Silly child, you're still so young. You'll understand a lot of things when you grow up."
Ignoring her mother's words, Ayumi stubbornly pouted, crossed her arms, and said defiantly, "I don't care, I'm going to marry Yuzuru-nii!"
He looks exactly like a little warrior resolutely defending his love.
"Okay, okay, we'll talk about it when you're older."
Mrs. Yoshida shook her head helplessly, her eyes full of doting affection, and then took Ayumi's hand and went home together.
Inside the house, the police had not yet left, and Inspector Megure was leading his officers in a methodical cleanup of the scene.
A group of police officers were cleaning the living room with even more care and attention than if they were cleaning their own homes, each one completely focused to ensure that not even the slightest trace of blood remained.
The items that had been messed up by the helmeted man were put back in their proper places by the police.
For items that were damaged and unusable, Inspector Megure even arranged for his officers to buy new ones and put them away. He also contacted the manufacturer to send a new door to replace it.
Mrs. Yoshida was surprised by the police's attitude and said softly, "Inspector Megure, there's no need for all this trouble..."
"Oh, Madam, please don't say that!"
Inspector Megure immediately interrupted her, adjusted his hat, and said with a righteous expression, "Serving the people is what we police officers should do. Our duty is to protect the lives and property of the people so that everyone can live and work in peace."
He added, "Besides, it's thanks to Master Yuzuru's help in catching the criminal that we were able to avoid more serious consequences and prevent a major disaster. What we're doing now is just a trivial matter."
After saying that, Inspector Megure ran back into the crowd and began giving instructions.
Mrs. Yoshida stood quietly to the side, looking at the busy policemen in the room. She pursed her thin lips slightly and raised her hand to smooth a strand of hair behind her ear.
She knew very well that the police officers were so friendly and polite to her not just because she was a single mother.
Just like last time, the hospital prepared a private room for Ayumi, who only had minor scratches, not because of her.
A teenager was involved in both incidents.
As Mrs. Yoshida watched Ayumi cheering and jumping among the police, her gaze gradually softened.
She knew that during a child's formative years, someone needed to take on the role of a father, giving the child enough love and guidance. Only in this way could her precious daughter, Ayumi, grow up smoothly and healthily into adulthood.
