"Mom, do you know what you're doing?!"
Hattori Heiji's eyes were bloodshot as he glared angrily at his mother, his face filled with disbelief. He couldn't accept that she had just killed someone right in front of him, even if that person was a vicious murderer.
“I know exactly what I’m doing.”
Chibo Jinghua remained calm, her tone as indifferent as if she were discussing the weather.
She slightly raised her chin and looked directly into her son's eyes. "But you, even after all this time, you haven't changed. When your friend is in danger, you're still thinking about your own case."
"I knew that guy wouldn't get hurt at all!"
Hattori Heiji roared loudly, his voice almost a howl.
In his view, his judgment was correct. Yuzuru was skilled enough to protect himself, and besides, Yuzuru was aiming to kill the murderer. He couldn't just stand by and do nothing.
"What about that girl?" Kazuha came out at this moment, looking at the girl at the warehouse door with a complicated expression. "That person just now, did he really want to kill that girl?"
"I......"
Hattori Heiji was speechless for a moment.
Kazuha continued, "Heiji, you're always so confident, thinking you can control everything, but what about this time? If it weren't for Nan and Master showing up in time, that girl would have been in danger!"
That scene just now was so familiar.
Back in the Minoyama mountain area, Hattori Heiji made the same choice: to protect the murderer, even at the cost of harming those who tried to save him, all for the sake of the so-called case.
"This is different!"
Hattori Heiji bit his lip, his teeth grinding together, veins bulging on his forehead, and shouted, "No matter what the murderer did, the law should punish him, not you resorting to vigilante justice! This is a crime!!!"
"Heiji..."
Ikeba Shizuka sighed, her voice filled with deep exhaustion.
The look in her eyes when she saw Heiji Hattori was one of utter disappointment.
"Your father and I are divorced."
Her voice was soft, yet it exploded like a bombshell in the already tense atmosphere, leaving everyone present speechless with shock.
The entire warehouse fell into a deathly silence.
"Mom, what did you say? Divorce? How is that possible?"
Hattori Heiji's voice trembled involuntarily, his eyes filled with terror and confusion. The shock of the murder had not yet subsided, and this news threw him into complete disarray.
“Nothing is impossible.” Ikeba Shizuka gently shook her head.
She calmly gazed at her angry son and slowly said, "Heiji, for so many years, I always thought you would become a person with flesh and blood, someone who knows how to protect those around you."
"But today, I am completely disappointed in you."
She paused slightly, as if to calm her complex emotions, and then continued, "Your father is just like you. When he should have stood up for his family, he was always bound by rules and so-called justice, and could only watch helplessly as his loved ones were hurt."
"In that case, let's end it here!"
After saying this, Ikeba Shizuka resolutely turned and left, her face devoid of any emotion, neither joy nor sorrow.
Yuzuru Hanyu was also quite surprised by this result.
Although he had some suspicions when he noticed the nameplate had been changed when he went to Master Jinghua's house yesterday.
But to everyone's surprise, this usually gentle and graceful woman was so decisive and resolute, showing no signs of being held back by past feelings when faced with the breakdown of their relationship.
Upon careful consideration, what is meant by family affection?
Perhaps it was already severed little by little by Hattori and his son in those overlooked moments and times of hurt.
Just as Hattori Heiji's theft of her ancestral dowry was an infringement on something she cherished, Hattori Heizo, knowing full well how important the dowry was to her, still failed to do his best to find it, which was a profound betrayal.
And then there were all those arguments that arose from differing opinions, and the eventual giving up...
Even the deepest feelings cannot withstand such erosion.
Now, everything has vanished like smoke in the wind.
Women in the Kansai region have a tradition of martial arts.
For them, love is pure love, and not loving is absolute not loving; there is never a gray area in between, and there is no other choice.
"Mom! Are you going to get a divorce over such trivial things? What am I going to do?" Hattori Heiji shouted angrily as he watched his mother's retreating figure.
Chibo Jinghua stopped in her tracks but did not turn around. She simply said, "We have already divided the property. You belong to your father, the house belongs to me, and I have already sent all your things to your father. You can go and collect them yourself when the time comes."
Upon hearing this, Hattori Heiji was completely stunned.
No one told him any of this. He was just there to participate in a competition and wanted to teach Yuzuru a lesson. How come his parents got divorced and he lost his home so quickly?
He felt as if the world had cruelly abandoned him, leaving him standing alone and helpless amidst the shattered ruins.
And the culprit behind all of this is that guy, Yuzuru Nanami!!
Watching this scene, Conan was filled with mixed emotions. He couldn't help but think, "This scene is so familiar. Luckily, Mom didn't get a divorce. The family is gone, but Mom is still here..."
"Hattori..."
Conan walked over and patted Hattori Heiji's shoulder, who was crouching down with his hands around his head. He wanted to say something comforting, but he didn't know how to say it.
These two best buddies are truly in the same boat now.
