"Hello? Mom?"
As soon as the call connected, Conan's urgent voice came through the receiver, with the faint sound of police sirens in the background: "Something's happened here. Mr. Komura has been murdered."
Yukiko took a deep breath, using all her strength to try and make her voice sound as normal as possible: "Ah... is that so..."
Before she could finish speaking, she involuntarily cried out in surprise, "Ah!"
Realizing something was wrong, she immediately bit her lip tightly, trying to suppress the uncontrollable sound.
"What's wrong? Your voice sounds strange."
Conan keenly sensed something was amiss.
The international film star's pupils contracted sharply, her pearly teeth biting her lower lip tightly. Yuzuru Hanyu mischievously released her pigtails and instead grabbed her slender waist with both hands—the sofa springs creaked under the strain.
"N-nothing!" Yukiko bit her lower lip hard, her eyes full of anger, and glared at the person behind her who was causing trouble. "Mom is...doing yoga!"
Familiar scene, familiar excuse.
The only difference is that the object of affection changed from Yusaku Kudo to Shinichi Kudo.
"Doing yoga in the middle of the night?" Conan asked suspiciously.
"Yeah, yeah..." Yukiko struggled to control her erratic breathing, her words becoming fragmented, "Recently... um... aren't you supposed to be making a comeback... I... I need to maintain my figure..."
Her words were interrupted by a sudden muffled groan.
Suddenly, someone mischievously increased the pressure, and Yukiko almost cried out. She quickly buried her face in the back of the sofa, her trembling fingers gripping the fabric tightly until her knuckles turned white, as if only in this way could she slightly alleviate the strange feeling in her body.
"Mom?"
Conan's voice was full of suspicion, "What's that sound coming from your end?"
"The yoga mat... um... it's too slippery..." Yukiko made up a story, feeling her rationality being washed away and shattered. "You, you just said... a murder case?"
She tried to change the subject while glaring at the slyly smiling "bad brother" behind her, but was met with even more unrestrained treatment in return.
Although Conan found his mother's reaction very strange, he continued, "Yes, Mr. Komura was killed. Inspector Megure and the others have arrived, but Uncle Mori isn't here. I need you to come and be my tool..."
"I...I understand..." Yukiko's voice was weak, "Right away...ah...over there..."
There was a few seconds of silence on the other end of the phone.
"Mom," Conan's voice suddenly turned serious, "you're not drinking again and can't drive here?"
"N-No, I didn't!" Yukiko was so angry she wanted to hit someone, if she could still move. "Mom is seriously doing... ah!... doing yoga!"
Yuzuru smiled and leaned down, his thin lips brushing against her flushed earlobe as he whispered, "My lady... lying isn't good..."
Yukiko trembled all over, desperately shaking her head and pleading with her eyes.
Her current posture—a sailor uniform in disarray, her twin ponytails held like reins in Yuzuru Hanyu's hand, her knees kneeling on the edge of the sofa—does indeed bear a striking resemblance to certain yoga poses.
"Never mind, just come over here quickly."
Conan shook his head helplessly and hung up the phone.
As soon as the phone call ended, Yukiko collapsed onto the sofa like a puppet with its strings cut, completely limp and powerless, like a puddle of melted cream.
Yu Sheng Nan chuckled and kissed away the tears at the corner of her eyes: "My dear sister's acting skills... are truly well-deserved."
"You bastard..."
Yukiko weakly scolded her disobedient younger brother, too weak to even lift a finger, and could only express her dissatisfaction in a feeble voice.
A muffled thud suddenly came from the other side of the large bed.
The two turned their heads at the same time and saw Ai sitting up expressionlessly, holding a deformed soda can in her hand—the very weapon she had smashed against the wall earlier.
"Can you two be quiet for a second!" The tea-haired loli looked at the two of them coldly. "Please don't corrupt the children."
After saying that, he turned around, grabbed the corner of the blanket from the girl, and violently wrapped the little girl up like a cocoon, even covering her ears tightly.
Yukiko buried her face in Hanyu's shoulder in embarrassment, but then she heard her mischievous younger brother chuckle in her ear: "Looks like...we'll have to find a quieter way to play..."
"Huh?" Yukiko blinked her big eyes.
Didn't we say we were going to go there?
Yuzuru smiled slightly: "That's what you promised, dear sister. I didn't promise it~ We're not detectives or police officers, why would we go? Besides, given the situation tonight, the preview screening is definitely not going to happen."
"It seems so..."
Yukiko nodded thoughtfully.
Yeah, I'm not a detective or a police officer, why should I run to a murder scene in the middle of the night? Wouldn't it be better to just take a beauty nap in a hotel with my bad brother?
As for your statement that her son was present—
Sorry, she severed her mother-son relationship with Conan a long time ago.
"Ahem, what's a quieter way to play...?"
Yukiko coughed lightly, her whole body burning up, and asked.
"You'll find out soon enough," Yuzuru said with a smile, raising his hand.
Moonlight swept across the tie that suddenly appeared in his hand. Before Yukiko could react, she was blindfolded and forced down onto the sofa.
Her toes, encased in children's socks, rubbed helplessly against the carpet, as if searching for some kind of support, before being pressed against her head by Yuzuru's interlocked fingers.
"This time... it's my turn to check on my sister's increased... flexibility after eating so many snacks."
...
Meanwhile, at the Phenomenon Institute, Conan stared blankly at his black-screened phone.
